So what type of characters is everyone gonna build? I'm really liking the Herald for a starting class myself, and will probably keep building the character in that vein, i.e. med-light armor, mostly physical with faith backup. Seems much stronger than the cleric for sure.
Honestly the pyro seems pretty interesting too but perhaps for a second playthrough.
Can't wait for this! I'll be going for the classic Dark Souls build of medium armour with a good roll ability, shield and sword which will hopefully end up as a Greatsword (Loved Artorius' sword from the first game). I've never played a magic build in a Souls game but might give it a go for a second playthrough this time Also just to note I'll be up for Co-opting any bosses if anyone wants help or just prefers it that way feel free to add me on psn Can. Not. Wait. Honestly the only game this year that I'm hyped for
Dark Souls 3 and Horizon: Zero Dawn are the games I'm waiting for.
I soloed the first two Souls with mediumweight knights, using spear+shield with the help of fire magic. I think this time I'll start as pyromancer!
I usually go for a fast light to medium weight character. Want to mix it up this time and go with high strength, will see if that works at all for my play style. Would love a mighty 2 handed Warhammer to use. Hopefully there will be one. Much more awesome than a huge club.

I had a close encounter with the second boss last night; I moved my eyes to the bottom of the screen to read his name and two seconds later I died. Than I had a second encounter with it, its health went under 50% and two seconds later I died. Than I decided it was time to level up a bit...
At the second boss as a Pyromancer but only tried once. So far loving it. Level design is brilliant, feels great just exploring and decided whether to risk more exploration despite having no Estus flasks! Well I risked it, and found a cellar key to start a quest line....so on this occasion I made the right decision.

Loving it, taken down two bosses so far. Pretty nails, but managed to solo them both. Thinking I'll find the third boss soon. Decided to give the pyromancer a try, fireballs are quite effective.
@mrobinson91: @LieutenantFatman: I picked the Pyromancer, too. I'm enjoying the mix of spells and close-quarters combat, but I'm not entirely sure where to put my points. It feels like the Pyromancer benefits from points in practically every attribute, so I'm not yet sure where to place my focus.
@LieutenantFatman: @get2sammyb: Hopefully Fireballs and other spells continue to be as effective as they are early game. I'm also having the same uncertainty about what stats to level up. Early game I'm mainly going Vigor as 2 full FP bars (1 potion to refill) seems to be enough to get me between areas. I have put a few points in FP and Stamina too though...suppose as we play more you'll know what you need.

@mrobinson91: I don't know what event triggers this, but killing a regular enemy I heard a different sound effect (not the regular one you heard when absorbing souls) and one of my empty flask was full again! Maybe it's Luck related.
I'm another Pyromancer!
Which weapons are people using? I'm liking fast slashy weapons so far, so I'm using broadsword. I like it's r2. Claymore swing too high and missed some short/kneeling guys and didn't offer too much more dmg.
PS, for Early levelling I like putting str and/or dex to 20 to meet weapon requirements.
