@mrobinson91: Fireball should be as you can level up the pyromancer fire glove using shards once you find the right npc.
@get2sammyb: I wouldn't put too much into INT at this point but otherwise, yeah, it's pretty open, depends on your playstyle really. Attunement is well worth a few points if you're going to use magic a lot.
@LieutenantFatman: Yeah, I guess you get quite a lot of Faith and Int points from the off with the Pyromancer, so I want to work on my character's melee combat for now. Will probably focus on Vigor, Endurance, and Strength for now - and will bump up Vitality and Dexterity when/if I find better armour/weapons.
Played through the first 2 hours, loving it so far! I've been going with a knight glass with a medium roll, think I'll try to work in some spells into the build if I can too. The music in Firelink Shrine is so good btw!
@Mega-Gazz: To answer your early question Gazz, I've been using the long sword from the start, haven't found any interesting weapons yet feel like I'm coming to a point where I will find something though, I'm just at the bonfire past the Dragon
pretty cool story - yesterday evening when I came home from work and training and started my PS4 I was like "what the" because first thing I saw was DS3 installed! I ran over to my babe and it turned out that was meant as a surprise for me ^^ THAT must be true love right ^^
soooo - first impression after 3 hrs:
omg how I missed that whole atmosphere - unmatched and unparalleled, only FromSoftware is able to do that
graphics are phenomenal, so is the art design (again)
Oh and I cant see why so many people complain about DS3 being too "easy"
Its the exact opposite
Maybe Im too bad at it or idk, but compared to the other games it seems like DS3 wont be any kind of a cakewalk
It starts off with a boss right away (alright, the Beginning of Bloodborne was surely a bit more gruesome haha) and the area after it is challenging as you would expect it from a DS game
I honestly believe that those guys that always write comments like "easy platinum", "finished it one handed in one evening" or "so much easier than before, a DS for noobs" and stuff like that are all pathetic liars and trolls - nothing more
From the beginning its more than obvious that DS3 is surely as brutal and unforgiving than youd expect it to be
At least thats what I think, and I played DS1, DS2 and Bloodborne so I guess I do have an insight on those games as well
Call me noob or whatever, but thinkin back of Anor Londo or Blighttown still gives me cold shivers ...
And it happened again - Im completely drawn into it, excited and scared of what will await me, always havin a wiki up ready (you may say this ruins the experience a bit, but hell ... its DS ...)
the year is still early and theres FF15 comin in september ... but DS3 sure is a contender for GOTY
BTW, this may be obvious to some but I didn't find it for a while: There is a torch you can buy from the hag, then it works like BB's torch in that you equip it...instead of DS2's wierd timed torch thingy. Very useful.

She bought you a 60$ game. Now you have to buy her a $6000 ring. Fair trade
@get2sammyb: Turns out I was wrong about investing points in INT. As a pyromancer, turns out it's worth doing, required for certain advanced spells it seems.
@consolfreak1982: People that say it's "too easy" are just trying to grow their e-peen. It's really tough.
Agreed.... though also after 4 other games that they finished on NG+++, it is possible that they have also "gotten good" and therefore aren't feeling the difficulty as much as their first time. Still, the elitism is all that brings this game down.
@consolfreak1982: Firstly: that's a better love story than Twilight Secondly: play the game however you want, I usually save a wiki or guide for a second ruin through where I'm searching for trophies and secrets/quests I have missed, I like to play my first run blind just to soak up that amazing sense of discovery the games have but to each their own, it's your game play it how you want Thirdly, I've played two hours so far and while the game overall certainly doesn't feel any easier, I do think that first boss was the easiest one I've faced out of BB and Dark Souls (haven't played Demon or DSII). That said I'm absolutely certain the bosses will get more difficult!
@Mega-Gazz: I found the katana guy (haven't beaten him yet) and I picked up some short sword (forget the name now) but I've missed the rest of your list even though I felt I've scourged all the areas mentioned Did you have to kill the dragon to get the claymore? I haven't killed him yet so maybe I'm missing some on that bridge bit? Also think I found the thief guy but don't have the key to unlock him yet
I just rolled on through to get the loot. There are a couple safe spots and I have a heal spell. And since it's next to a bonfire and the dragon kills all the mobs for you, it's actually great soul farming spot. So if you die don't worry you can get it back.
But you can make the dragon leave with 60 or so arrows
@Mega-Gazz: Completely forgot about simply running past the Dragon like Dark Souls remembered this eve while helping someone in co-op, I've picked up a few of your suggestions, currently rocking the dark great axe
Started this the same way as all Souls games should be played... Deprived with only a wooden club and loincloth for protection
Never did understand the whole deprived thing as a point of elitism. Its not making the game any more difficult beyond the first half hour, and provides no statistical advantage... And without a level cap in the game, if there are a couple extra points in one stat it doesn't matter 'cuz you just get a couple extra levels.
