wow, Sellsword twinblades have an amazing moveset! or, appear to. will have to try them out, but they seem rockin'. Probably chicken out and stick with the broadsword since it has that nice R2.
Just got to the undead village section, surprisingly not had a great deal of trouble so far, perhaps a bit of an early hump to get over, but managed to beat the boss just before raising the banner on my second try and I'm certainly not experienced with these games having only completed Bloodborne Couldn't get into DS2 at all but really quite enjoying this one.
@WanderingBullet: the game is really not built for coop, sadly. There aren't many embers and you need to be embered to summon. As before, that lasts till you die.
@WanderingBullet: If the host dies your kicked back into your own game, you also get kicked back to your own game if you defeat a boss in the host's world or you die. I'd argue the game is suitably for co-op, plenty of people have played these games in co-op to completion and in fact DSIII has made it easier than previous games to co-op with a friend by adding password setting to the co-op feature, ensuring that you can only join a certain person's game if you have they're password. The game doesn't allow for continour co-op throughout however, once you beat the boss in an area, any co-op partners (called summoners in the game) are kicked out. However all you have to do is advance to the start of the next area and you can summon each other again (summon is the term used for starting a co-op play)
TL;DR You are kicked from the hosts game is they die, you die or you defeat the boss in the area your playing in. You can co-op for as along as you survive in an area until you defeat the boss. To continue co-op both of you need to advance to the next area than summon each other again to continue the co-op
@Mega-Gazz@Hego Yeah, I watched one co-op vid on YouTube and it did seem rather complicated. Granted they didn't know what exactly to do in order to co-op which made it pretty funny to watch. I think one guy even said, "Dark Souls, even trying to co-op is hard".
Anyways, thanks a lot for the explanation, guys. I plan on getting the game maybe when price drops. Not really keen on buying it at full price now mainly because I'm 100% certain I won't be able to complete the game due to it's difficulty. Can't really afford it either due to the amount of games I plan on getting between May and June...

Don't get too hung up on the difficulty hype. It isn't easy but is not at all unapproachable. Like the other souls games, elitists make it out to be more than it is at the same time as calling it too easy . Seriously though as long as you can manage frustration you'll be okay. You won't one-shot the giant killer demon dragon beast...but should you, really?
Also, like other souls games, you can grind some levels and then out level the encounter if it's really getting you.
Yeah, the game just demands patience really. If you're willing to accept that your progress may be slow and that you may lose Souls at times, then you'll get through it. You just have to go in with the right mentality.
This^^^^
Also it's always useful to join someone else's game just to scope out an area or a boss if you find your struggling. At least you'll know what's coming then.
I ignored the multiplayer in bloodborne but I've made an effort to get into it now, it's making the game so much better. Since you don't lose the souls you've built up when you're helping someone who's summoned you it makes grinding way more fun. Then when I'm in a new area I forget about the souls entirely and just play for the loot and bonfires. I'm still not out the undead village actually I wanted to cure my hollow status which took a while. Not sure what the pros/cons of that are exactly i just didn't want to look like a zombie lol
I don't know if this is a bug or not but after drawing out true strength with Yoel the first time, I healed the dark sigil at the firekeeper and he no longer offers to do it, so I've missed out on 4 free levels.
Basically don't heal the sigil until you've got the 5 levels.
@Plateface: yeah you healed it and as a result you forsake Yoels...cult or whatever and he won't help you any more. He dies after giving you the 5 levels then some girl shows up to replace him. She cleared off after I healed myself, too.
