@Octane oh no doubt, it's just the three points prior in that list were kind of criticism of Zelda/Last of Us and Uncharted which I agree with to a point and I'm sure most people would also agree with. So if the last one was also supposed to be critical of DS, it's kind of being critical of it for doing what it does best.
May contain spoilers but the takeaway is that both the PS4 and Pro Resolution mode run at a capped 30fps with the odd dropped frame here and there. The Pro's performance mode runs at 1080p with the exact visual settings of the PS4 but uncapped frame-rate averaging in the mid 40's and with erratic frame pacing. Visually stunning - even if not native 4k.
I much prefer a more stable experience and therefore won't bother with performance mode myself

This is pure speculation, but I was wondering what seasoned gamers such as some of the contributors on here, would consider the criteria for accumulating specific trophies in this game will be? I know there is no trophy list for this game as it is obviously not out yet, but, based on your gaming experience what do you think a rough idea of the kind of trophies you can gain/how to get them will be?

@WanderingBullet His and Sammy's review are the only ones I've read/watched. Both are glowing and like you said with that metascore it does seem like it might be something special. Who knows if it'll live up to it, but I'm excited! Only 6 more sleeps!

@draco-n-eliptic1 My guess is that it will be a moderately difficult platinum, if that’s what you’re wondering. Just speculation. Probably will have to beat the game on the highest difficulty, and since the game 25+ hrs just for the story alone, then that may take some effort. Also Sammy alluded to many large secret and optional areas, so I imagine that there will be trophies related to optional bosses and collectibles.
But thankfully the game has no multiplayer so there won’t be any annoying online trophies. I guess we’ll know in a couple days!

@draco-n-eliptic1 I believe the word on the web is that there are no difficulty related trophies.
If I was to take a guess...
-Main Story trophies (duh)
-Optional Boss fights (one for each)
-Max out the skill tree for both Kratos & Atreus (multiple trophies)
-Collectables, at least 2 different kinds similar to HZD
-Combat related trophies
Whatever the trophies are I'm definitely going for the Platinum. Would be my first of the year- I've been slacking. 40-50 hours to 100% apparently.

Whilst I am looking forward to it, I can't say that I am counting down the days or hours until it arrives. I am trying to finish up a few games so I can start it close to release if not on the day. I pre-ordered the Steel book version from GAME as they were the only retailer in the UK with it. When I checked a day or two before the reviews were out both that edition and the much more expensive 'statue' edition were both in stock but now they have sold out of the limited edition and only have the Collectors (£120) and Standard (£48 - just £12 less than the Limited Steelbook edition which also comes with an Artbook and some diital extras).
Too me, it does seem that prices are higher in the last year. I could buy new standard releases for around £40 but now they seem to be closer but the right side of £50...

@Fight_Teza_Fight Ooooops. 😋 I stand corrected. Thanks for the clarification. If true, I’m glad there’s no trophies related to difficulty settings. It’s why I’ve never platinum’d an Uncharted game, despite them being probably my favorite series. Stupid crushing mode just turns me off. Got close in Uncharted 2, got halfway through the Crushing playthrough and got distracted.

@Th3solution Yeah I hate difficulty related trophies. The platinum for Wolfenstein The New Order required the game to be beat on Uber, which is pretty easily the worst thing I put myself through for a trophy.

@Rudy_Manchego The only bad experience I've had is when i pre-ordered Shadow of the Colossus, didn't manually make a payment (as i thought it would be taken automatically nearer release). So the game never got delivered. I got no email from em even though they said emails were sent when i complained.
As i had no card details on their website (don't like doing that) and only my PayPal account linked, and they didn't accept payment by PayPal for pre-orders they said no payment possible.
But they accept PayPal for pre-orders now, so its all good.
@JohnnyShoulder I've put a pre-order in. It made me put card details in but my card is actually expiring in two weeks time so will switch over to paypal after that. I got an email confirmation so looking forward and the loyalty scheme seems quite good. Thanks for that!
Now I may be an idiot, but there's one thing I am not sir, and that sir, is an idiot
Was in GAME this lunchtime getting the last couple of Switch bits for my daughter's birthday - they were filling the rear display with GoW stuff. Loads of copies of the game, the DS4, the steel book, the statue and had a Pro out on display.
It's all very tempting.
