Topic: PS4 @ E3 Hype Thread

Hopefully you've noticed we're starting to kick up the hype for E3 on the homepage now. I thought it would be fun for us to expand the discussion onto the forums, though. Feel free to share rumours, predictions, pictures, and anything else that takes your fancy pertaining to E3 and the PS4 here.

It's going to be a busy few days on the site, but I'm looking forward to sharing all of the fun (and disappointment) with y'all!

I'll probably get away from gaming sites once Sunday comes around because with all the hype and insanity that stems from E3 it's very easy to get swept up in it. For last year I was convinced Sony had a great conference and I was chuffed with what was shown only to then dive into comment sections on here, Duelshockers and Eurogamer as well as Twitter and everyone sounded disappointed. I just felt "did we just watch the same conference"? Which is why I want to take a bit of a backwards step this year and just watch the conference without engaging with others online.

@adf86 That happens every year; you just gotta try to ignore it. Hopefully you do choose to post some comments and thoughts - in comparison to the rest of the web, I always find Push Square to be quite positive, which is amazing really!

I will certainly give my opinions eventually, I just want to try avoiding in getting into any rows with people over mostly something that's pointless. Especially on here because I've been a big fan of this site for nearly two years now and still want to be part of the community.

@adf86 to be fair this year more than most has hit my gaming time, if Sony only show 3 games right now I would be delighted so talk to me On push square there isn't a barrier to entree so you will get the odd person who's views are skewed, or different to your own.
I only registered early this year and am really looking forward to it as I do every year but more so as the community here are long term (and politer) gamers. I have previously been registered with other sites and I totally agree that some people just want the moon on a stick and loads of people moan for no real reason. But hopefully the pushsquare team can set the tone and peeps like you or I can carry that on.

Well if comments to get crazy or the trolls come out to play I will be around.

I always enjoy E3 I will probably be bouncing between the 3 sites (Push Square, Nintendolife and Pure Xbox) so that way I don't miss an anouncement.

I love E3 but it does 'annoy' me a bit. What annoys me is that big 3rd party multi-platform games often dominate a consoles conference. I think the likes of these should be reserved for the publishers own conference. I don't like to see 'exclusive' content - timed or otherwise on these either. At most they should all have 'exclusives' - kind of like Street Fighter (I think) did with an exclusive character for each platform. What I want to see from a consoles conference are totally 'exclusives' and what the manufacturer intends for the next 12months+. In the case of Sony, I want to hear and see only the games that will release on PS, I expect to see and hear about hardware/peripherals and anything related to that. I don't really want to see the games and game play, that I can play on other formats. Obviously something like Hellblade, I know its on PC too, but I would accept that on Sony's conference more so than Destiny, Battlefront etc.

I feel exactly the same with MS's conference too. I know I own both consoles but it doesn't seem right to have to watch a consoles conference to find out more about a multi-platform game. As this is a PS site, I don't know how many don't own an XB1 and are interested in the Division (for example), but they would have to sit through a lot of irrelevant information until MS show the Division.

Well that's the negatives, On a positive note, E3 is exciting and even though some years are less exciting than others, it usually gives me a few surprises, things to look out for and changes my opinions on certain games too - more often positive changes. Games we may only have seen a CGi or just a logo, often get a bit more game play and information which can elevate a game up my watch list. Its unrealistic for me to get excited by every game as there are some genres and games that will not appeal. I just hope there will be some new IP's and games that will.

I can't say Console variations or price announcements mean much to me - its highly unlikely I am going to buy a new one to replace my nearly new one - even if it has a bigger HDD or flashy paint job. Even restyled versions too. However news about things they are working on (external HDD support, custom controllers etc) are of interest.

I'm a sports gamer, so I'll be looking forward to seeing more of Rory McIlroy PGA Tour in action as well as hearing announcements on NBA LIVE 16, FIFA 16, etc. I think WWE 2K16 will be at E3 too, so I'll keep an eye out for info on that one.

I'm done looking at Arkham Knight stuff since it's so close to release, so I'll stay away from that info next week. I'll probably keep an eye out for info on Until Dawn and a couple other titles though. And as always, I'll be checking out what Nintendo has to offer in case my son gets a Wii U for Christmas.

Absolutely agree, which why 9 times out of 10 I won't engage with anyone I feel is been silly because one it isn't worth it and two I don't want to risk getting a ban for being involved in a row. Other sites have it worse, place like IGN are just a minefield.

Other games that I hoping see at E3 are - Horizon, Triad Wars, Dragon's Dogma Online, Black Desert, JoJo's Bizarre Adventures: Eyes of Heaven. Not to mention, Monster Hunter for the PS4 (but we all know that that's never gonna happen in near future). :/

What I'd personally love to see is, as weird as it may sound to some, some Blizzard announcements. There is no doubt that Diablo was a phenomenal success on consoles, it kinda won me back over to Blizzard. I think announcing at least Hearthstone for PS4 AND Vita is long overdue. Also I'd love to play Heroes of the Storm on my PS4 instead of my mac. It would fit the platform just perfectly fine in my opinion.

Also, don't stone me and I know its far far far off in wonky fantasy world, but I'd love to get a special-for-consoles-made World of Warcraft similar to what Sony did with EverQuest on the PS2. That. Would. Rock.

Oh yeah and of course the usual other suspects I'd love to hear more about are: Uncharted 4, MGS5, NoMansSky, and yeah... the obvious ones!

Just a few days to go. I'm not sure what I'm personally excited for anymore - haven't really had time to think about it. I'm really eager to see this Horizon game for Guerrilla, but other than that... I dunno, honestly - probably this Transformers game and Horizon.

To be perfectly honest with you, I feel a bit burned out on the traditional shooters and open world AAA games. Would settle for like an old-school SEGA racer or something like that...

Hearthstone is only going to be PC, Droid, and iOS platforms only. I agree with HotS but once again only PC, and WoW will never ever come to consoles. Although I would like to see Overwatch come to the PS4 that hasn't been ruled out yet.

@Tasuki Well they sure ARE investigating something ... There's one hoping for the best!

@Scollurio. I wonder how accurate that is though, everything on that listed is already out accept the consoles. Kinda odd no Wii U off tv gameplay using the game pad was meant for the Wii U.
