I'm really looking forward to Earthlock: Festival of Magic, Soul Saga, YIIK, Chromophore: The Two Brothers: Director's Cut, and Lobo Destroyo on Wii U. I'm also looking forward to Rainbow Skies, Revenant Saga, and a few other indies still confirmed for PS3! ^_^
I already voiced the issues I had with What Remains of Edith Finch, but forget about that. I've played GNOG, and all I can say is don't even bother. Finished the entire game in under an hour. I think there were only 9 or so levels. Pretty underwhelming, and it was €15. I'll be more wary of my next purchase.
@Kyroki I'm playing Lumo right now on PSTV thanks to my redeeming the reward through PS+ before I even had a Vita/PSTV and it's quite fun so far. I love the art direction too!
So Celeste is out this week (tomorrow?) - anyone else interested? I've seen a lot of people being critical of the "low quality" pixel art but I think it looks great. And if it's anything like Towerfall they will cram in a ton of cool little graphical touches and flourishes that lesser devs wouldn't bother with.
@kyleforrester87 All those wall jumps and double jumps.. looks way too difficult for me! Besides, I want to finish Gravity Rush 2 before I start Monster Hunter.
@Octane This is the full blurb, sounds like it has plenty of options to suit all players. Plus the stamina thing looks interesting. I don't think it'll handle the same as games like Super Meat Boy. I like the idea of it being one long run, too.
Celeste is a platformer about climbing a mountain, from the creators of TowerFall. Unravel the secrets of the mountain and overcome your limitations to reach the summit in over 300 levels!
If she has the stamina, Madeline can climb any surface on Celeste Mountain. There she’ll journey across many dangerous environments using her mid-air dash to explore strange places and meet peculiar characters.
Don’t get spooked – playing in Assist Mode lets you tweak the difficulty – from a slower pace to full on invincibility – whatever sounds fun! Or if you really want to white-knuckle it, take on the challenging B-Side chapters.
@kyleforrester87 The premise is interesting, but the fact that the mountain looks like a generic Super Meat Boy-esque level kind of ruins that. And yeah, the use of color is nice, but the character model and environments are awful. Hopefully one of the flourishes they add to Madeline is a face.
And the $19.99 price tag absolutely ruins it for me. Even Kamiko's sprite art is more detailed, and that game is $4.99!
Not to rain on your parade. I absolutely hope you enjoy the game. I just wanted to explain my attitude.
