I was looking for a general indie thread, but I couldn't find any! A shame though, as there are many great games released every week that slip under our radars. So that's what this thread is for; To give some attention to the smaller titles that are rarely talked about or aren't big enough to get their own thread. I'll feature some of the upcoming indie games in this first post and I'll try to update this post as often as I can. Maybe we can even compile a list if anyone's interested!
Hyper Light Drifter - Heart Machine: A top-down action-adventure game set in a beautiful, yet dangerous world. Currently available on PC; coming to PS4 on July 26.
I'm looking forward to Hyper Light Drifter big time. The game looks brilliant and I loved Disaster Pieces soundtrack in Fez. What I've heard of HLD's sounds awesome too.
The other one I'm looking forward to is Skytorn by the maker of Towerfall (and co):
Rogue Legacy 10/10
Fez 10/10
Hotline Miami 9/10
Gone Home 8/10
Guacamelee 7/10
The only problem is, I now wait for psplus for these games due to the services recent history. I would take any of those 5 games over the likes of Fallout 4 or Bloodborne.

PS3 Megathread 2019: The Last of Us
Multiplat 2018: Horizon Zero Dawn
Nintendo 2017: Super Mario Bros 3
Playstation 2016: Uncharted 2
Multiplat 2015: Final Fantasy 7
@themcnoisy: I can see why people wait to be fair, but if I know an indie is going to be really good I'll buy it on release just because I won't want to wait to play it lol. You still waiting for Axiom Verge?

@themcnoisy: The Axiom Verge dev said it never would come to Plus when it released - of course that doesnt mean it wont. That said it's been basically free in some sales.
I kind of like spending a few quid on a game anyway, if its free I tend to not bother playing it properly :/
@kyleforrester87: Skytorn looks neat, although it really looks like a mix between Shovel Knight and Axiom Verge. Is the music in HLD done by the same guy that did Fez? If so, awesome then.
Thinking about Hyper Light Drifter, made me think of Little Devil Inside; It's been in development for a while now, but unfortunately we don't get updates very often. There were aiming for a 2016 release, but I don't think that's still happening. Anyway, it's heavy on combat as well and it reminds of the swift, yet brutal combat from HDL.
It's an ''open-world'' game with an emphasis on survival and exploration, but that's all we know at this point; here's the trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sEjRTx_tvnE
Hyper Light Drifter looks excellent. An obvious one for me is No Man's Sky - can't wait for that to finally land.
I'm also looking forward to Distance - an arcadey "survival racing" game that's been in early access on PC for a while now. It's coming to PS4 this year, hopefully soon. Here's a trailer:
Apparently Adr1ft released today on the PS Store, but it looks like there's an embargo on the reviews (@get2sammyb is that true?).
The PC version got mixed reviews and I don't think the experience will be any different. It's €20, so I think I'm going to wait for some PS4 reviews before I'm buying it. The trailers looked pretty sweet though..
Hyper Light Drifter, No Man's Sky, and Distance all look awesome, as do the rest of the games I wrote about in my upcoming indies article at the start of the year shameless plug (https://www.pushsquare.com/news/2016/01/feature_10_under_the_radar_ps4_games_to_look_out_for_in_2016)
I know it's not technically indie game, but Grow Up is a game I'm really looking forward too, since Grow Home was one of my games of the year in 2015.
I can't wait for Wattam either, since it's being made by the people who developed Katamari
@Anchorsam_9: I'm also looking forward to Grow Up. I loved how much charm and innocence the first game had and the devs really care about it. If you so much as mention it on Twitter, someone will respond!
@Anchorsam_9: Grow Home was a weird one. I liked the game, but I wasn't a fan of the clunky controls. I'm getting the sequel though, just to see what's new, because I am curious.
Another indie I've just remembered is Knights and Bikes, which I backed on Kickstarter a few months ago:
Updates on its progress are slow, but I think it's just two guys working on it. It just looks lovely. You can tell the Tearaway lead artist is working on it.
@kyleforrester87: Damn right! Axiom Verge is awesome. And I especially love the soundtrack. When I think about it being one guy doing all the work it makes me even more impressed!
I'm not sure if this is the right place to talk about this, but I've just received a Steam code for the Yooka-Laylee Toybox tech demo (one of the backer perks). I don't have a decent enough PC or Mac to run it properly, so I was wondering if anyone here fancied it?
First come first served, obviously If anyone's interested, message me on Twitter (there's a link in my signature) and I'll send you the code there.
I'd take this but not sure my Mac would run it as well as it deserves to be run, and I'm without a PC these days. Looking forward to the full game, though.
