@Octane Yes, it happened there.
Talking about difficulty, in 5 hours I died only twice and stealth killed most of the enemies. I still have to use my guns so no lack of ammos for me!

Praise the Sun, and Mario too.

Ellie's facial animation when the grabs and strangles an enemy is absolutely top-notch. Cut-scene quality, and you don't even get to see it unless you manually turn the camera around!

@andreoni79 I died about five times, all of them were in that jumping section when trying to open the big gate!

@nessisonett Jeez, I can just imagine how bad it is over at Reddit. They go crazy just on stuff like is there scripting in PES.

I've not been finding it too difficult on normal, only died a few times and mostly on one section. If anyone is struggling on a particular thing, there are loads of sliders you can tweak. Think the ones like in Shadow of the Tomb Raider but way more advanced.

Like others have said l like how un-hand holdy is. When you get caught in the blizzard proper panicked, as I thought I lost Dina.

@starhops Sorry, only just seen your comment but yeah, well said. This sort of thing was always there, at least now we can see it

Good job, Parappa. You can go on to the next stage now.

No adding my opinions yet because I still haven't received my copy. I've had my post for today so won't get it until Monday at the earliest. At this rate I probably won't get properly into it until next weekend.

I went through most reviews today and I saw this:

  • the 0s should be removed. They are not credible. End of story.
  • Most of the reviews give the game a 4 because "amazing graphics, good gameplay, weak story, plot holes, unsatisfying conclusion, waste of 25 hours, no satisfaction after the end"

So it is a solid 5/10. I doubt that they will ever do TLOU games after that.

ApostateMage

@BearsEatBeets I've had that happen before and it's pure torment. I feel for you, man.
Anyway, back to the absolutely brilliant The Last Of Us 2.

I managed to lure a bunch of infected into a patrol group. That felt good!

@Zuljaras I received my copy one day earlier and even if I love the game so far I've put only 5 hours into it in 2 sessions, mainly because I have a life. If they really put 25 hours in it, they better look for a psychiatrist!

Praise the Sun, and Mario too.

@Octane Nope. I watched it. It is a story game after all. I only played the first one on PS4 but never finished it.

I doubt that you have to throw 60$ in order to understand the story better right?

This is not a game with great replayability unlike for example God of War or Spider-Man where you could play without purpose. TLOU is a game that you play too see what happen with the characters.

It's sad so many of you are closed minded and can't accept that there are legitimate criticism's to be made of this game and that from an objective point of view the writing is something that would be graded as a D+ at best. This game has been built up for so long, was hyped as being PS4's swansong and the game of the generation and was falsely advertised by ND/Sony and you wonder why people are so upset? People were emotionally invested in this. In these characters.

@TheDude89 My opinion exactly. Good if someone can enjoy it regardless. Still, criticism is more than justified. Didn't the head-writer (a woman) of Uncharted and TLOU leave? Amy something? A... a name with A I believe. Amanda?

Top 5 Indies I'd recommend you try: #1 Lovecraft's Untold Stories, #2 Moonlighter, #3 Hotline Miami, #4 Inside, #5 Into the Breach.

@Scollurio Do you mean Amy Henning? She left Naughty Dog in 2014 after beginning work on Uncharted 4 but as far as I know had nothing to do with both TLOU games.

@JohnnyShoulder Ah yes probably. Maybe a mixup on my part! Thanks of info!

@TheDude89 I am too busy playing it and enjoying all the tech and gameplay improvements they made to waste my time thinking how better it could be if they wrote a different story.
It's a game, it's meant to be played.

@TheDude89 Of course you can be critical of the game, if that comes from playing it. Personally I think you need to actually play a game to fully experience it. Games are interactive after all. If you are criticising the game from just see the leaks and spoilers, or even from someone else playing on YouTube, I'm not sure many on here would find much value in your opinion.

@JohnnyShoulder I have played it. I have also finished it. No need to make it personal by saying my opinion is worth less because of your misguided assumption.

@andreoni79 It has some gameplay improvements. In other areas they haven't made significant progress from the original and there are plenty of games, both PS4 exclusive and multi platform, with better gameplay. It also has some excellent technical accomplishments and if technical things are more important to you than good writing fair enough. Game of Thrones season 8 looks great on a 4K TV. Doesn't change the fact it's horribly written and people would rather it had looked worse but had the writing quality of the first four seasons. If physics and framerate are more important than narrative and characters that's your choice and enjoy the experience.

@TheDude89 I did not say that and was not being personal? Read my post again and you will see that I was saying that if you (as in the general you, not you personally) are criticising the game without first playing it then some people may find that opinion a bit worthless.

It is also not great to come on a forum and call most people close minded just because their opinion differs from your own.

@JohnnyShoulder It read to me as if you were saying me personally, that's the problem with text. It's easy to misunderstand.

It is entirely appropriate to say people are close minded. This very site published an article saying it was getting reviewed bombed and people should just ignore the criticism. That is close mindedness. And it's the same for most people on this site in the comments and the forum. The game is not getting trolled by bigots, bots or xbox fanboys. It's been review bombed because large numbers of people are dissapointed with it and are finding genuine faults with it. I didn't call people close minded because they have a different opinion but because so many - including this website itself - refuse to accept, acknowledge or respect other people's opinions and instead say that any negative feedback about the game is down to something like xbox fanboys trolling review sites which is simply not true.
