So the Tories are implementing socialism and there’s 0 controversy from boomers. This is what Coronavirus is doing to the UK 😂😂😂

@nessisonett Spoke to a positively tested coronavirus victim today. A few days ago he was bouncing on site. Today, Errr, not so much. Sounded terrible on the phone. I called as his parcel shelf was left on site. Really hard for him to talk and he's only a young lad, deep cough, sounded drained.

Corona is starting to feel a bit too close to home.

My mum has finally been convinced to stay at home. Along with with asthma she has diabetes and a low immune system. This was after me, my sis and bro all had spoken to her over the phone and messaging her all week. Had to get my dad to speak to her as she was being a bit stubborn. She finally took notice when her local surgery phoned her up to detail all of this and explain she is more at risk. And she will also have to have a vaccination against shingles. Because it is a live one they want to wait until the virus is over. So phew, one thing less to worry about.

@RogerRoger sorry mate. I hope its man flu. If its not, then keep hydrated, let the fever do the work, rest and have a full phat remote man hug from me.

@RogerRoger @themcnoisy Cheers guys. Yeah she doesn't go out that much any way as she doesn't work anymore. Alarms bells started to ring when I found out she had volunteered for a few bits, and this was after I last spoke to her.

They can go on walks as long as they keep thier distance and stuff. They live in a little village so they do not come across many people. Just last time they bumped into a younger group (they are both 73) of people and they started chatting to them. Knowing my Dad he would be shaking their hands and stuff.

It's been a frustrating week as when my mum digs her heels in sometimes she will not listen to anything and common sense goes out the window. Hopefully they have come to thier senses now.

@nessisonett LOL Republicans in my country are supporting stuff like federal paid sick leave and mailing money out to poor and middle class people now. This from the same people who regarded a federal mandate to buy health insurance as "socialism."

@themcnoisy Apparently in Italy, some recovered patients have permanent lung damage, even some younger patients. People underestimate the unknown of something like a bit too much. Never panic, but understand that we don't know a lot means other problems can arise we didn't know about at first.

@RogerRoger I hope you can get tested and feel better soon, hate to hear about anyone hear having it and suffering from it.

@KratosMD Then the careless people who are affected by complain about how we didn't do enough even though they complained so much about the overreaction when action was taken.

Anyhow, even though we only have about 30 confirmed cases so far in my state (Missouri), rumours are spreading that we may be undergoing a state wide lockdown soon (although there's been no official indication).

My mother works for a grocery store and says that some of their delivery drivers have noticed checkpoints/barricades being set up on the highways and are recieving letters stating that they will be needing paperwork that indicates that they are operating on a necessity basis (apparently a nurse acquaintance of hers has recieved one of these letters as well). Even someone who stopped into my work said her boyfriend (who is some sort of driver) recieved one of these letters.

My state went from one confirmed case a couple of weeks ago to 228 as of yesterday.

Ugh.

@RogerRoger Thanks buddy, yeah I'm sure they will be ok now as long as they remain vigilant.

Hope you get better soon. It does sound more like a 'normal' flu, but it is better err on the side of caution in the current climate.

As for me... I'm officially off work. I've been running myself ragged these last two weeks trying to prepare for whatever eventuallity took place. So I'm gonna enjoy the next two days just finally relaxing and putting my damn feet up without a care in the world 😂

Hey y’all, been off the net for a couple of days (do people still say net?). 9 days into isolation and things are starting to get into a routine. We are lucky that we have been able to shop ok and get what we need. No sign of me or the missus getting ill which is good. The bad news is that my wife is doing video calls with her family every night so I am talking to them more than I did before we went into isolation.

Seen Frozen 2 several times now. I have issues with that film.

Only yesterday here in Italy 627 deaths.
And people still acting like we are in holiday, ignoring all the preucations, or going crazy wasting medical supplies and raiding shops while the things to do are very easy: shopping once per week and staying at home...
In the meantime I've lost my job for next two months.
I only hope my hold PS4 won't break right now...

@andreoni79 Just stay safe. My focus has shifted from getting temporary work to simply not getting this virus. Will you still get some sort of paymemt?

@RogerRoger Watch out for the dizziness, I've seen some people saying it can make you walk into the wall if you're not careful. If it is indeed it, like you say. It really doesn't help that there are so many bad colds going around at the minute.

@Rudy_Manchego Since work called me in for the last couple of days to shut the place down, I'm now on my first day proper of isolation with the family. Already this morning has felt like a month, it's basically just running around the house diffusing arguments.

@Gremio108 The government will pay workers like me 80% of the wage for max 9 weeks, but since I work for a tour operator I'm worried for the rest of the year...
In the meantime, weather forecasts talk about snow in the next week! This would be funny if it wasn't real!
