Patch 1.06 — 9th August 2022
Additional elements
- Added the function to send summoning signs to summoning pools in multiple areas, including distant areas.

Balance Changes
- Added the following adjustments to Greatsword, Curved Greatsword and Great Hammers:
- Reduced the time it takes for rolling to become possible after an attack (Jump attack, dual wield attack and attacks while mounted not included)
- Increased the motion speed of strong attack and charge attack (mounted attacks not included)
- Increased Guard Counter’s motion speed
- Increased the attack speed of Great Axes and reduced the time it takes for rolling to become possible after an attack (Jump attack, dual wield attack and attacks while mounted not included)
- Increased rolling distance when player has a light equip load.
- Increased the hitbox of Cipher Pata’s weapon skill “Unblockable Blade”
- Increased the range of Ash of War “Glintstone Pebble” and “Glintstone Dart” projectile while decreasing the damage and stagger power
- Decreased the travel distance and invincibility frames of Ash of War “Bloodhound Step” while adding the changes below:

- Shortened the activation interval when using “Quick Step” skill in succession, increasing its ability to circle around the enemy when locked-on and add the changes below:

- Decreased the damage and bleed build-up of weapon skill “Corpse Piler” when hit with the blood attack. When hit by the blade, the damage is only decreased slightly
- Decreased the target tracking ability of sorcery “Stars of Ruin”
Bug Fixes
- Fixed a bug which caused some attacks of “Lucerne” to not pierce enemy’s guard
- Fixed a bug which made it harder for a two-handed jump attack with “Bloodhound’s Fang” to break enemy’s stance
- Fixed a bug which caused the effect of “Determination” and “Royal Knight’s Resolve” to disappear after using the “Parry” skill with a dagger
- Fixed a bug when dual wielding Axe and Greataxe which caused additional effects from Spells, Weapon Skills and Items to not be applied correctly

Will they ever fix the framerate on PS5?
Christ! Hope this doesn't corrupt my application data again. Had to redownload the whole game few days ago. Got me wondering if Japanese devs just don't really know how to implement updates. I remember an update corrupting my MHWorld too, had to redownload the entire game. An update for SFV means you're basically downloading the entire game again.
That aside, forget Bloodborne, the world of Elden Ring is just so beautiful you forget it's supposed to be a difficult game. It's From's best game indeed!
Nevermind bug and frame rate issues nerf Radagon and his aggressive never ending combos of unblockable damage nasty piece of work.
@Ambassador_Kong No. They're too busy nerfing all the good early game weapons because they noticed new players weren't getting !$%&ed over hard enough.
@Enuo They nerfed borderline broken weapons what deserved it, when people are defeating key bosses in 2 or 3 hits clearly something isn't right.

I've got that Nepheli bug too. Right nasty one too.
Also yesterday I loaded up the game yesterday and I had died straight away, and it looked like I had fallen off a cliff or something. I wasn't near one when I quit the game. When I loaded my save and beat the boss I was attempting, the marker for my runes was at a part of the map I've not been to yet. Oh well only about 16.5k worth of runes, so not that bad.
Finally. An Elden Ring article.
I beat the game. 80 hours with 80% trophy completion.
I give it 9.5. Slightly better than HFW so I'm going to vote for Elden Ring for this year's goty. Only expect God of War to beat it. Starfield and Hogwarts have a chance but I'm going to say it won't beat it since I don't like Bethesda games gameplay that much and that Hogwarts studio isn't a well known studio (can't even remember the name).
I prefer Sekiro by a tiny bit. I think it's slightly better than Bloodborne.
I'm going to point out the negatives since everything else is amazing.
Open World didn't do it much for it. It's a trade off. You get more reasons to explore and it's open ended, but it can be overwhelming at times and makes the game easy. It's the easiest souls game so far imho (Besides Godskin duo and god damn Malenia). Open world didn't make souls games better. Just different which is cool too.
The graphics could have been a bit better, but the main castles look fantastic.. The story is easier to follow than the others, but I still can't explain it very well haha.
Now the most thing that bothered me was the recycled content. Gargoyles, Skeletons and other enemies were basically the same enemies from Dark Souls. The game also recycled dungeon maps, enemies within them and when I went to a new region, I still kept seeing the same god damn enemies!!! There were enemies that were in all regions! Like god damn zubats!
I think they need a new engine and the game should look as good as demon souls remake for their next game.
Pretty sure Elden Ring is going to stay in my top 10 at the end of the gen. A must have.
@Uromastryx I beat it in my first try lol. What level are you in? Maybe explore the world more to grind some levels.
@b1ackjack Yeah that's how I read it too. I've also read on twitter Radahn is 1 of the hardest bosses, which makes sense w/ him being in Caleid, so I'm not sure what they're trying to prove there by making it even harder. 🤷♂️

I was way too overleveled by the time I tackled Caelid. I used the starting weapon throughout the whole game. Unless you tackle Caelid before Atlus Plateu, Caelid was easy. I started Caelid after Atlus and that made it way too easy (A con for the game being open world). Summons are too OP.
I wondered why I absolutely wrecked Radahn on my second playthrough.
@RevGaming ahh he just gave me trouble for awhile but done with him I was been a failure and grasping his combos, elden beast irritated me more , and got the platinum trophy so
@RevGaming I think I road into Caelid pretty much right at the start since I couldn't get past the bridge to the south nor the giant to the northwest, so I road around to the east. Then I kept riding b/c everything was insane there. Finally went back many hours later and it's ok now, though I still can't beat the minor boss w/ the gold needle for Millicent, nor invader Millicect. T-Rex rats are still creepy weird though. I was very excited to finally beat those vampire bats to get the 2nd half of the elevator key but I haven't finished the upper level w/ the ghost warriors yet, just grabbed what I could and fled down the hole in the middle. Maybe someday when I run out of map to explore.
@rjejr Radahn used to be hard, he got massively toned drown in 1.03 and is now relatively easy. Apparently he wasn’t supposed to be that weak so now he’s back to somewhere in between.
@ChrisDeku Oh, well that actually makes sense then, can't have a boss everyone is talking about how difficult they are to beat suddenly get too easy to beat, thanks.

That’s the only reason I haven’t bought it yet. From games typically run like ass but I was hoping they’d have patched it to serviceable by now.
@TheRedComet it's more than serviceable, the frame rate really wasn't a huge issue, I think people just overplayed the framerate issue as it was really the only thing wrong..I'm talking ps5 here and personal experience, I notice frame rate issue twice in my 130hours, first reaching 2nd big area and then on a certain boss.
I would highly recommend not holding off cause of some minor minor problem that "sometimes" occurs
Some of the trophies are bugged, I really hope they patch it soon.

Hey, unfortunately it's the trophy for defeating Commander Niall not popping. Him and other bosses are bugged across all platforms.

So far the only NPC I've had available for a boss fight was Sheena Warrior for the first boss. I always look for them but I haven't talked to enough people I guess. I did get Blaide the Wolfman to meet me at the Bloodhound Meargle spot but I had already beaten it at that point but haven't seen him since.
@Gamerintent55 I'm all about summoning people. My kid keeps scaring me out of Caelid though. I killed my first bird there today, but it was way more fight than I wanted for a bird. I have reached the point where I no longer fear the knight walking around the dragon cathedral anymore, guy used to waste me but I've at least gotten game knowledgeable enough to take him out w/o a problem. I've killed 3 dragons so I keep going back there. I've been to the island as well but the Caelid Cathedral has better spells.
@Ambassador_Kong frame rate will be fixed later this week when Sony releases the VRR update.
@AgentGuapo VRR is already out, you need only reboot the PS5. Early reports suggest that VRR doesn't help Elden Ring adequately because of how poorly its framerate performance is. As PS5 VRR doesn't work the moment the frame rate drops below 48. So, unless fromsoft releases a fix or Sony changes that VRR range, it's a bust for this one.
It's actually really a letdown overall to see the range that high as it really rules out VRR as an option when its needed most.
@KundaliniRising333 unfortunate. I’ll check it out later. I played the ps4 version on my ps5 and it was beautiful. Solid 60 the whole game.
@AgentGuapo yah I just stuck with the Ps5 perf mode and it was bearable but still considering the cross Gen nature and dated visuals it was a bit disappointing.
I was genuinely hoping VRR would help. But seeing that Fromsoft has not addressed or acknowledged performances issues in any of their several several patches this far, I'm not hopeful that they will do so.
There track record on performance expertise and post launch performance support has been abysmal.
Great game, but very dated. I hope other more technically talented and less arrogant studios learn from the amazing aspects of Elden Ring's open world design and implement them in future projects based on the success Elden Ring has had.

Still not finished it yet am about 105 hrs in, think im pretty close to the end now though, just stuck on one of the bosses so needto level up bit b4 killing him. Great game though, wasnt feeling it ar start of the game but love it now. Once im done with this going back to horizon, and finish it.
