SEGA's New Yakuza Studio Is Working On A Follow Up To The PSP's Black Panther.

Excuse us for a moment while we climb onto our house's roof, strip down to our underwear and perform a jig to the chant, "More Yakuza, oh yeah, oh yeah."

Ahem.

Toshihiro Nagoshi announced that he has formed a new studio, entitled the Yakuza Studio, which will presumably work solely on the franchise from now until the end of time.

The first game from the studio is set to be a follow-up to PSP spin-off, Yakuza Black Panther. Unfortunately the title is in development for PSP and not PlayStation Vita, so don't expect to see it in the West. Entitled Kurohyou 2 Ryu ga Gotoku, the game supposedly retains the features and mechanics of its predecessor. It's due out in Spring 2012.

Nagoshi also noted that Yakuza 5 is in development, but stopped short of giving any specific details.

We're so excited to see the Yakuza franchise is still in full flow. It's honestly one of our favourite series on PlayStation, we could literally lap these titles up until the end of time. Bring on Yakuza 5.
