It turns out we're not alone — as evidenced by the furore that erupted on the Internet this afternoon when someone claimed UK retailer GAME's website had been hacked.
Thankfully there's no reason to change all of your passwords just yet, as GAME has said the rumours are "completely false".
"At GAME we guard our customers' details very carefully," said spokesperson Anna-Marie Mason. "We have thoroughly investigated the hacking claims made today by the website Pastebin, and can confirm that they are entirely false.
"The published email addresses are not registered users of GAME.co.uk, and there has been no breach of our database security.
"We would like to assure all our customers that their details are well protected, and advise anyone who has any questions to contact our customer services team via the website, our Facebook page or Twitter account."
Panic over, then. Just remember to be vigilant with your own security: change your passwords often, and don't use the same string on every website. Problem solved.
