The release of Minecraft: PlayStation 3 Edition at retail outlets last week means that Mojang’s mega creation is likely to occupy two slots in the top ten moving forwards, as Sony’s version tussles with Microsoft’s for sales superiority. The blockbusters finished third and fourth respectively this time around, with PlayStation 4 and Vita iterations still on the way.
Still, following the conclusion of the Premier League, soccer simulation FIFA 14 dribbled its way to the top of the charts, edging out Xbox and PC shooter Titanfall. Last-gen only tournament tie-in 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil netted fifth position, while Call of Duty: Ghosts fired into sixth. Meanwhile, The Amazing Spider-Man 2, The LEGO Movie Video Game, Battlefield 4, and Grand Theft Auto V filled out the remaining top spots.
Elsewhere, Sucker Punch’s superhero sequel inFAMOUS: Second Son stuck around in 14th position, as Gran Turismo 6 raced into 22nd place on the back of further retailer promotions. World cup fever hits, I've not much interest in anything floating around on the ps4 at the moment, pretty much done with ps3 and just working through the final dozen or so games. My vita backlog is huge, I only plan to add Minecraft and Murasaki Baby anytime soonish. My next purchase will probably be wolfenstein or watchdogs on ps4, the reviews should be pretty interesting.
