Whether this is a case of Walmart trying to drive foot traffic to its stores, or Sony realising that it needs to respond if it wants to maintain its dwindling North American lead, the PlayStation 4 has dropped to $329.00 at the aforementioned outlet. It looks like all of the stock has been allocated at this point, but we figured that this was a significant enough sale to warrant a post.
This price applies to the vanilla 500GB Jet Black unit only, but it’s worth remembering that the MSRP for the machine is $399.99. If you’re in the market for a console and can’t find one at Walmart, note that most retailers will price match, so you may yet be able to take advantage of this offer. Are you tempted? Meanwhile in the UK, simplygames are still selling the console for under £300...
@Dodoo yeah but the UK exchange rate on $399.99 is about £256. OK I assume us have to pay tax but we're still being overcharged in the UK, not so though if you grab a mega bundle, then it ain't so bad.
I think this is just Wal-mart acting on their own. I don't think Sony would do this, there's no way they would go this low. It would be $350 at the max for a lowering/discounting the price. Pretty sick deal though.
I bought a ps4 from game on Saturday. £370 for the ps4 with CoD, GTA5, Drive club, The last of us and evil within.
@Jaz007 Sad but true for right now. I'm hoping the PS4 (by itself or as a bundle) will permadrop down to $300 New by Christmas 2016 though.
@Jaz007 a few other retailers are in this ball park as well so Sony or not, PS4 is getting cheap for the holidays!
