Racing aficionados may be excited to learn that F1 2016 will restore some of the features absent from last year's iteration when it deploys on the PlayStation 4 this summer. Chief among those is the safety car and career mode, with the latter allowing you to shepherd your own high-octane avatar through a 10 year career to the top.
"F1 2016 is a massive step forward for the franchise. The new career mode sits at the heart of the game and allows gamers to create their own legend over a career that can span for up to a massive 10 seasons," explained principal game designer Lee Mather. "Beyond improving upon the fastest and most thrilling on-track racing experience in gaming, F1 2016 uniquely offers the drama and vehicle development that goes on behind the scenes. A rich car upgrade system is fully integrated into a new and deep practice development programme, which mirrors the tests carried out by the teams in real life."
The game will, of course, also include the new Baku street circuit, which is set to make its real-world debut in Azerbaijan next month. There are a handful of screenshots embedded below, including one shot of the Haas hospitality area, which will act as an in-game hub. Different environments have been designed for each team.

I like what I see. Not a day 1 buy, but I'd like to see some reviews...
I passed on last year's, so I could get this one in hopes it added Career Mode back in as well as the inclusion of Haas F1 Team, Baku street course, etc. I'm not 100% this will be a day-one buy, but it's about 90%!
Why do codemasters release these games towards the end of the season? Just imagine Fifa coming out in February. Mad.
@themcnoisy It's usually so they (Codemasters) can get a handle on which cars perform better because at the start of the season because at that points, no-one really knows. In pre-season testing we get a rough idea, but it's usually by the time the European races start (happening now) that we get an idea of where the whole 'field' stands.
So for example, no one really expected Red Bull to be winning races. People thought Mercedes would be streets ahead with Ferrari in second. But RB has made a lot of improvements to their engine. Same as McLaren.
Might be some image rights too although i have no idea about that stuff.
I bought last year's effort in a recent sale and it was good fun, just a shame about the lack of a career mode. So this already looks a more interesting proposition
Last year's game, whilst an improvement, just wasn't in depth enough to keep me as entertained for a long period of time. I absolutely love F1, and really want to see this one succeed, but as each year passes it leaves me slightly more cynical.
Fingers crossed for a game that finally ticks all the boxes.
Really hope the race outcome is as fixed as the real F1!
If it was released too early it would have the qualifying changes that they realised didn't work so had to change plus think it's usually out June time season has only just started they used to bring it out in November which is way too late
