The PlayStation Vita put in an appearance at Sony's TGS 2016 press conference today – albeit a rather fleeting one. The platform holder took a moment to announce that two new colours will be available in Japan starting 1st December: Silver and Metallic Red. Both models will retail for ¥18,980 (~$186).

If they put the OLED screen back in it then I'd of got one.
Japan only?
I so wish this still got love in the West but hey ho, never mind.
I do like that they are still supporting the Vita in Japan.
Just what Vita needs!
Nice colors
Nice colors but where are the games? Oh I forgot, they never make first party titles again...
I have a Vita for the games, not for extra colors what is useless for people who allready own a Vita.
Poor old Vita. So much potential, so little support
All they need to do is make a PSVRP model (PlayStation Vita Remote Play).
How hard would it be to add 4 extra buttons?
The same old argument comes up that Sony didn't support Vita when the truth was they tried hard for two years but when exclusive Uncharted's Assassasin's Creed's Killzone's and CoD's didn't shift units then nothing else wss going to. And with PS4 coming they had to make a decision and they choose the right one. But even now games like Full Throttle and The Banner Saga are only coming to Vita because of Sony.
That Metallic Red looks pretty nice! Still very satisfied with my Gen. 1 OLED, but I'll keep an eye out for a cheap one in a year or two...would make a very colorful addition to my collection!
The analog's on my Vita have been acting up lately. If these had the old OLED screen I would really be considering buying one.
Normally, I'd curse Japan for hogging the cool stuff, but the west apparently doesn't care.
Instead, thank you Japan for keeping the little guy alive.

Killzone has always been a subpar franchise, CoD BO2 Declassified was one of the worst games in modern history and AC was also mediocre at best. Even Uncharted Golden Abyss is nothing compared to console entries.
You've got to make amazing games to sell systems. Not "decent to good" and "abominable". Unless Sony was just conceding they can't make amazing games? But we know that's not true. They just didn't make any for Vita, much less consistently support it with amazing games, and then they wonder why it fails.
Truth is, it was the "lots of decent but absolutely zero amazing games" combined with the $100 proprietary memory cards that really did it in. You can't treat handhelds like a second rate platform and expect successful results. You have to give games every bit as good as on consoles. Infamous Second Son, Ratchet & Clank, a Naughty Dog developed Uncharted or even a Last of Us port, get Street Fighter IV Ultimate on the system and Demon Souls or Bloodborne, work out a deal for Tomb Rauder port... this would have sold systems.
They didn't do it all wrong. Gravity Rush was an excellent example of a great Vita game, and Wipeout 2048 was closer to great than average, but these games are more niche and 2 games isn't enough. It has to be a consistent flood of excellent games.
@JaxonH
Killzone Mercenary was a bloody briljant game though....it was the reason I had high hopes for Shadowfall.....Mercenary is still the best Killzone game to date.
(with an amazing and addictive multiplayer, working like a dream...with chat party on Vita!!)
The reason Vita didn't do so well was the retarded pricing of the memory cards. It killed the Vita from the get go.
@BlaBlaBla
I agree, it was definitely better than Shadowfall.
