This looks like it'll have a heavy focus on multiplayer due to GTA Online's success. I do prefer the idea of a Magnificent 7 style game where you build your gang/crew but getting into shootout with your buddies could be a heap of fun if they put enough into it

Prequel please...i didnt finish red dead redemption but wasn't it 1911 or around that time when it finished?...cowboys were just about done by then so a prequel would be a safe bet, take it back a good few years to when cowboys were more relevant and the figures in the pic definitely have a older style cowboy look to them(on a side note to rockstar, please make a red dead redemption type game but set in medieval Japan...samurai,ronin,castles feuding lords...thank you)

@teknium_ Yeah, RDR took place when the Wild West was dying out, so it wouldn't quite fit to have a game that takes place after that - not if we want cowboys and shootouts and all that Western movie stuff.

@ShogunRok I may be wrong but don't Rockstar tend to begin marketing their games quite far into production (unlike most developers/publishers)? If so, when do you think we'll see it released? By the end of this financial year would seem logical..?

I do not tend to like cowboy related tv but red dead redemption was a decent game and now we have Westworld on TV which again is enjoyable. But guess there will not be robots in this game.

This will probably be the one to make me upgrade to a Pro. RDR was my favourite title from last gen. This is stellar news.

I hope it centres around Dutch's gang too. I can see it utilising GTAV's character switching system too.. The multiplayer posse's.. New & improved dead-eye mechanics.. bloody hell this is gonna ruin my life.

I've never played any of the previous games (no PS3), but I'm usually on board for anything Western-themed. That. plus this series reputation has me interested.

@Mergatro1d I think if this is what we're all hoping - a typical Rockstar open world game - then I could see it getting a March-April 2017 release date. I think 2016 is packed enough as it is. That said... if anyone could launch a currently unannounced game this year it'd be Rockstar.

I'm game for it. I got Red Dead Redemption this summer and I enjoyed it! Well, ending aside anyway..... I honestly enjoyed Red Dead over any GTA title, so I'll be looking forward to when this is formally announced.

HYPE! Not really a wild west person myself but rdr made me understand its appeal! Could this be revealed with the NX? The timing seems right but strange pairing... I could see it coming with the PRO announcement but it didn't.

I loved Red Dead Redemption in a way I never did with GTA. Just riding a horse into town was just awesome. I hope it isn't just multiplayer though.
