As expected, Pokémon has attacked the Japanese sales charts with all the force of several suns and moons combined. The game sold over 1.5 million copies in the Land of the Rising Sun, and helped seriously propel Nintendo 3DS sales as a result. This means that the PlayStation 4 slipped down the hardware charts, with the PS4 Pro posting a fairly poor second week tally – though that's to be expected in the East.
There's really not much else to say: Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare kept chugging in third, though it was forced to endure a pretty sharp decline. Meanwhile, Minecraft continues to sell extremely well on the PlayStation Vita, with its lifetime numbers now nearing one million units – an enormous success for the portable port.
And yeah, that's it.

It matched Splatoon in a matter of days. Hell it feels like the biggest launch of the year over there.
Personally not a fan of the titles, I think they are solid but need some small twists ironing out, but my theory about Final Fantasy making a bad delay may be...true. :/
Is that stock shortages for the Pro or just lack of demand? I hope the former...
It'll be interesting to see how Pokemon did in the States and Europe.
@Dodoo I dunno. The former would be nice but ive looked at both the Slim and Pro, realised one doesnt need to exist, but cant determine which one.
Also notice PSVR has kind of just vanished? Stock shortages indeed but no one is talking about it.
It's amazing that they still can sell so many new 3DS systems with a major game release. You'd think at this point after 5.5 years the Japanese market would be saturated.
@Dodoo It's not really a product for Japan to begin with TBH.
I am actually impressed by how well the ps4 pro is performing in Japan, I was expecting Vita TV numbers.
Kudos to Pokemon! And the three out of five (!) versions of 3DS in the chart. With digital sales they are close to 2 millions btw.
All waiting for FFTwelvty and TLG on PS4. What happened to NES?
according to that, the PS4 and PS4 pro are listed separately - whereas last week the PS4 pro isn't listed at all, and all sales were PS4. (??). weird to see titanfall 2 sell better in japan than the uk..
@PlaytendoGuy Apparently they're the most preordered games in Nintendo's history, so I'm sure they're selling just fine in the West.
Interesting to see them split up the PS4 and PS4 Pro sales, but still can't come close to how they split 3DS up into like five different groups lol.
Those are some insane numbers there for Pokémon. My goodness.
Well I bought it and it's pretty dope! Not surprising it's in first place
TBH, besides Pokémon there is nothing that sold a lot in the software charts. Still those 3DS numbers are very impressive.
@leucocyte probably because nobody in Japan got to play titanfall 1, if you consider how rare that beast is over there, also... giant robots!
@BLP_Software Yeah because people have moved onto other games. VR was never likely to end up in conversations often, it's still too early for that.
@adf86 That's a shame. So much for the second coming huh? Hyped up, sells well and then...software every now and again? I can see it plateauing like Oculus and Vive did.
Pokemon = printing money
Its nice to see fate/extella holding in there
@BLP_Software So what? VR was always going to be a slow burner to begin with.
Nice to see Pokemon doing well. Must admit it's got my nostalgic side going, really tempted to pick up a 3DS in the new year when it's a bit cheaper!
I just dont like Pokemon my last played one was gold. It is fun but if you played one it's just different one with new pokemon. But i play World of Final Fantasy it's probably because im a massive Final Fantasy fan and i like the story.
@Thegentleman hey do you know if the fate game is coming over here
@CajDax yes, america 1/10/2017 acording to gamestop
Europe also January 2017
@Thegentleman Thanks bro
@manu0 Handhelds wear out in use more than consoles. They're being carried around all the time, and they double as the controller too. How often do you buy new controllers? And the original 3DS was just garbage. It's no wonder more people are buying 2DS and New 3DS.
