Despite disappointing sales, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare has waltzed away with the UK Christmas number one for the… Well, seventh time in the series' history. The shooter, which has seen a slew of heavy discounts, saw off FIFA 17, which finished up in second. Meanwhile, Battlefield 1 wrapped up in third place, while Watch Dogs 2 hacked into fourth and Grand Theft Auto V broke a new milestone.
Elsewhere, Final Fantasy XV stuck around in sixth, with the PlayStation 4 version of the game carrying much of the burden yet again, while Steep enjoyed a steady climb up the charts following substantial retailer discounts. And finally, after its decent debut, The Last Guardian started its inevitable slide out of the best sellers list in 20th position.

It's Titanfall 2 I feel sorry for, deserved to do far better than cod. I'm not an avid fps online multiplayer fan, but I am loving Titanfall even the campaign put a smile on my face.
@Bobbycuckoo TF2 did deserve to do better than it did but I wouldn't say it was far better than CoD. The campaign wasn't that great in my opinion and followed the same format for Mission after Mission - Start off with BT, get separated, do some platforming, have some combat, bit more platforming, more combat, another bit of platforming to reunite with BT and then Boss Fight. Most of the dialogue between BT and your character was OK but the rest, particularly the bosses was poor. The bosses only had about 3-4 lines which they repeated over and over again (especially on the Hardest difficulty as they were alive longer). Its fun but hardly the best. MP is good but limited Its nice that we can now customise our characters more but still not to the same degree we can with CoD. Titans are more restricted now than in the original. Maps are bigger than CoDs and the more fluid movement helps to get back to the action quicker but CoDs still has more action consistently and many more modes too. CoD also has the excellent and fun Zombies. I can't fault either game on its mechanics and the way each manages to play consistently - Both look visually great too.
I know that CoD:IW isn't the 'best' in the series and the biggest issue most have is with the choice of setting. BO3 for example still kept the combat on Earth. IW's combat may well be in Space but that allows for more unique Maps - maps on Space Stations for example but the game-play isn't all that different in essence. Playing IW feels very similar to BO3.
Titanfall though is still only half the game as all Maps and any other meaningful (not cosmetic) items will be added free. I hope they do add a co-op experience to rival Zombies but often these are far more basic. TF is a good game and recommended, but CoD offers more in every way. If/when playing solo (not with friends), I would rather play CoD as there is more variety and things to play for. That being said I do enjoy TF2 as well.
I'd say carry on playing BOps 3 and skip CoD IW and Titanfall 2.

That's a fair appraisal, I guess I'm just fed up with cod now so I'm chanting for the underdog to give It a run for its money.
As I said I'm a bit of a fair weather fan of online shooters, so my opinion is generally based on short term, so I cant really argue the long term merits, where many of the things you mention come to bare.
First CoD I ever bought for myself & I have to admit it was pretty underwhelming. Would trade it, but I really enjoyed Modern Warfare Remastered...
Played the single player demo....Meh....It's still a po-faced diorama.....Delete....
There are 2 reasons y I believe that cod is top
1: mod war remastered
2: people are hating the cod experience of new but because people don't learn very fast, it takes time for people to say no, I ain't buying this anymore. I think this because I didn't like advanced warfare and moaned like a baby on how crap it was. But I still bought blk ops lll WITH the season pass I might ad. Complete mistake but luckily I learnt that time and neva got the next loada bollox in their franchise. So now I've came to the conclusion that some people take longer than others to say enough is enough when it is a franchise they used to love.
@Lloydeee This is your final warning please watch the language. -Tasuki-
