That momentary glimpse of Square Enix, Crystal Dynamics, and Eidos Montreal's upcoming The Avengers game that you saw today? Yeah, you won't be getting another glimpse until 2018. While this is the beginning of a multi-year, multi-game relationship between Marvel and the Japanese publisher, it sounds like it's still early days.
"The Avengers project is being designed for gamers worldwide and will be packed with all the characters, environments, and iconic moments that have thrilled long-time fans of the franchise," a press release revealed. "More details on The Avengers project and other games will be announced in 2018."
Incidentally, we uploaded a video earlier today explaining what we reckon this news means for the future of Deus Ex, Tomb Raider, and more. Do check it out above.

Well that didn't take long, here's my post from earlier.
"How does a movie oriented venture like Marvel - 1 new movie every few months - team up w/ a company like Square that takes years and years to give us a game?"
In 2018 we'll get an update - we're still working on it! Check back next year!
@rjejr Well to be fair, the Western arm of Square Enix is much more efficient than the Japanese part. But... Yeah!
So they just tease the announcement and make people wait and wait?
@sinalefa
Isn' t that the usual MO these days ?
Make an announcement for an announcement to be announced next year.
I'll just read The Avengers comics in the mean time.
