While you won't need to have played the original game to enjoy PlayStation VR palette cleanser Psychonauts in the Rhombus of Ruin, you'll be able to get the PS2-to-PS4 port absolutely free if you pre-order the virtual reality game from the PlayStation Store.
This offer only appears to apply to North America β we will double-check with, er, Double Fine for you Europeans β but it means that those who take advantage will be able to enjoy all of the razzmatazz of Raz's adventures thus far ahead of the release of Psychonauts 2 next year.
There's extra good news for PlayStation Plus subscribers as you'll be able to get 10 per cent off the title's asking price of $19.99 when you pre-order, bringing the entry fee down to $17.99 with the free copy of the first game. A nice incentive all around, then β will you be taking advantage?f

If the deal comes to Europe, I'll preorder.
I trust double fine to make a good VR game.
I don't care about VR, and require games to have good controls.
"Oh, but the story-" is trapped in a crap game.
I hate the reverse almost as much, but in my opinion the main quest of Borderlands: the Pre-Sequel is better than the main games, but the gameplay is so unbalanced I couldn't get myself to play through it twice. I play BL2 with voices off while listening to podcasts.
I can't remember who said it, but it was put best this way: "Double Fine games are great except for the gameplay".
I have never played the original game and more than once have been tempted to buy it..so really hope this deal comes over here too!
So this is digital only?
I can confirm this deal is also for us in the UK!
