It's safe to say that the Destiny 2 honeymoon period is over. Around launch, the majority of players seemed to agree that it was a much improved sequel, but here we are just over a month later, and we're starting to see more and more criticism. Of course, this is only natural. We're at that point where many Guardians have exhausted much of the game's content, and they're either continuing the grind with little overall purpose, or they've dropped off completely.
However, Bungie says that it's listening. As part of the studio's weekly update post, it writes: "We’re reading as much of your chatter as we possibly can." The developer then acknowledges the key complaint: "One thing we have noticed is a lot of discussions about the Endgame and how it can be improved. Right now, these discussions are also happening in our studio." We're left wondering what ideas Bungie has been mulling over.
"We are listening, but need time to digest everything and draw up the best plans for the future. We will have more to say on this soon. Please stay tuned, and keep the conversation rolling," the statement concludes.
What are your thoughts on Destiny 2's endgame content? What would you like to see Bungie improve? Lay down your exotics in the comments section below.

Destiny 2 is a good game but after the first week i was bored and had nothing to do. I only go on it on Tuesdays now for the refresh.
@TomDobo I have some friends who were fans of the first Destiny but I know two who had already stopped playing D2 just recently.
Yup, seems the weekly mile stones are the only thing worth doing, and you could get all those done by Wednesday. The adventures and stuff are good but if you make a game about getting better and better loot that's all people are gunna care about. There just isn't much point in doing the adventures etc for tokens for low level gear.
Destiny is a good game in so many ways, I don't think they'll ever be able to get the mechanics right though. People just play too much of it for the devs to keep up.
How about improving the f****** networking!
... it was so good whilst it lasted, but after getting 3 characters to 290+ there was literally nothing to do... even the weekly refreshes just meant a slightly improved gun or whatever... I traded it in, before losing money from it, in readiness for the onslaught of games due over the coming weeks...
I'm assuming their improving it with more DLC to pay for.
What was the point in adding in all these Lost Sectors, Adventures etc. When they become practically pointless after reaching 265? That's where I lost interest in D2, I was loving it before 265.
Where's all the love and joy that was expressed when it came out? I feel that this has happened before and will continue to. The ten year plan really means it will take ten years to get one franchise perfect.
D2 is far more casual and streamlined than D1 and it took much longer for people to hit this stage.Even though there were only 2 subclasses per character, it took quite a lot of grinding to unlock every skill on just 1. You also had bounties to help earn XP to unlock these as well as weapons to upgrade. Not only that, you could grind for legendary marks to buy legendary weapons/gear, Strange Coins for Xurs weekly visit and 'glimmer' to buy Ammo Synths as well as pay for any upgrades you acquired. Then of course, you could 'grind' for Legendary weapons with different perks hoping to get the one with the perk set you wanted. Strikes also had more tiers for more challenge and you could easily pick the one you wanted, adjust the difficulty level, and play just that. MP also had much more variety.
The streamlining has robbed Destiny of a lot of its depth and Nuances as well as shortened the overall experience. The Story - which has only ever been the 'introduction' to Destiny (even all the Expansions, the story was the 'introduction') may well be improved but its also robbed Destiny of all the mid-end game content.
I got bored with it already too. To add to what'a already been said, I think PVP is a mess, and that was always a big draw for me in D1. They need dedicated servers to stop the lag issues and it needs to go back to 6 v 6 imo. Also, if you take the example of Iron Banner, the guns and armour in D2 are low light level; the point of IB in D1 was that it got you a stack of high level gear, now its fairly pointless, also the weapons are reskins of existing weapons. There is no variety in the game. It feels like Bungie are bing lazy.
I quit playing. I did everything I wanted to do and a little more, so I can't complain! I got other games to play, and other things to do!
@Constable_What Actually now that I think about it! My BIGGEST complaint is the character creator! No matter what I do all of the female characters I make look like triggered tumblr feminists, and all of the males I make look like complete ****bois!
Oh what's that make an EXO? No! They have the worst dance in the game by far! That creepy neck move that they do just isn't right!
I think it's great. Hopefully get the raid out of the way on Saturday!
@kyleforrester87 is spot on. Some people have played this morning until night. Im at a point with 1 character were there is still stuff left to do, and ive been playing for ages! Let alone 3 characters.
Maybe the levelling of certain token vendors needs to be tweaked to be harder, then unleashing better variant gear rather than under levelled rubbish. Thats the easiest win for Bungie.
@WanderingBullet I actually went back to D1 cuz I still had missions to finish... Which is why I stopped playing. The missions gave me something to do and it was always a fun challenge. I think my favorite was trying to get a hand cannon headshot kill spree which was a very rewarding accomplishment. Missions are sorely missed...
@1eyedlink The one with poison element?
I'm still playing. Had a week off there last week, when I was away on holiday and it's helped the game refresh a little for me.
@daveofduncan Yeah in some ways that's the best way to enjoy Destiny. A bit here and a bit there with some breaks in between. The problem is it's hard to do end game activities if you maintain this approach, because you need a regular group to do these with. And to get a regular group you gotta play regularly!
Stopped playing after a week I haven't even finished the story I got that bored. PvP needs 6v6 again I need to choose what type of game I want to play in PvP. And for an MMO shooter why do I only ever see about 4 people at any given time I don't expect say 10-20 people in the same area but at least 5-8 it makes the world look so boring and dull with hardly no guardians around.
@TomDobo really after the first week? The raid wasn’t even available when you “quit”. I can agree that doing the milestones each Tuesday is the lure, but I had completed a dozen raids and still have a blast with it. It’s not a game to play solo, and once you find a solid group you’ll find yourself playing it more.
My only complaint is the Clan based rewards. Why give rewards to people that aren’t that active in clans? Never made sense to me. Make that 2 complaints, the companion app is a mess. How can it not have stat tracking?
I don't really know what they could add tbh... I'm really enjoying it still at about 266 light level but taking time to level up. There was a point where I took a few days out, came back on and still really enjoying it. It's kind of the same with most mmo's I've played once you get to the top level and get your character and loot to what you want your just waiting for the next DLC or content for the game. I kind of got what I wanted but then that iron banner stuff came on and I really wanted the gear and been getting a bit bored with my weapons so been having fun grinding to get the iron banner stuff and doing some weapon quests to get some better guns. Only thing I can think that they could add is some sort of big war or something like PVP on ESO or Planetside 2, where you always have something to do with your new pimp gear you earn! And maybe some new weapon quests or quests that have you going to lost sector's or something I can't really think of anything else. But I haven't even played the raid and play mostly solo and have a blast and think there's plenty to do so I'm not complaining... Or maybe they could find a way to add some D1 content in? Seems a waste with all the DLC etc (I only played the Vanilla version so wouldn't know if it's all in the game?) Would be prefer it if they just made it a full MMO though it's already halfway there.
I'm max level 305 on all my three characters, almost have every exotic & legendary's. While being a good game a lot better than the original Destiny at launch, that's the problem Bungie made Destiny 2 better than the original game while forgetting the three years worth of improvements via DLC. Bungie knows very well Destiny 2 lacks a endgame, I hope their plan is too not sell it back too us via DLC which I think that is what will happen.
They made a huge mistake when they decide to get rod of the weapon roll.
Once reach 300 (super easily) there is nothing left to do
@WanderingBullet I believe the headshot spree was for The First Curse, but the thorn was also a fun quest
@1eyedlink Ah, ok.
