Oh right – they’re making Darksiders III! You’ll forgive us for forgetting because the project has gone dark since being announced prior to E3 2017, but here’s some new gameplay footage showing protagonist Fury cooling off by kicking the coal out of a Lava Brute. The animations have improved a lot, and this is starting to look like a tight character action title now.
The game’s still scheduled to release in 2018, but THQ Nordic’s keeping quiet about exact timing. While you wait patiently, check out the new gameplay embedded above, courtesy of IGN First.

It's a big improvement over the alpha gameplay. Much more like what I was hoping Darksiders 3 would look like.
Looks pretty good. Too bad I can't stand the character designs.
I hope its more like 1 than 2
Looking much better now! Very excited to see this one come together. Also, anybody looking at this and thinking "This could be a good start for a Castlevania game?"
That's another reason why Darksiders 2 is on PS Plus this month, i guess. Anyway, i really like this series and also interested in Darksiders 3. It gives the impression that the game will have many sequels, with all four characters being representend.
@Radbot42 I prefer Darksiders 2, lol.
Looking good but I'm not a fan of whip type weapons in any game, hopefully swords and scythes are still in the game.
Looks pretty good but I'm not feeling the character for some reason. I hope Strife will feature as the main character if they do decide to make Darksiders 4.
Definitely a major improvement over the first trailer, looks pretty good now.
I have first 2 on PS4 I really need to finish them, have started both, and like them, just haven't been able to get into them. Mostly because of other games! AC Origins is a long game, lol.
Ds 2 is reaaaaaally clunky, I'm not liking it to be honest
@Andr0idLife Bloodborne?
Looking good! Hope for a summer release.
Hope they show off the secondary weapons & abilities soon. Fury needs to have an expansive moveset, otherwise the whip might get old, as it pales in comparison to War's Great Sword and Death's Dual Scythes.
Looks good. I was put off the series for ages but played DS1 and loved it. Number 2... less so.
Looks like she has some kinda bladed weapons on her back! So hopefully more than just the whip
I want all 3 on the switch.
Loved DS1 platted it and loved the difficulty I haven't played 2 yet because I hear its full of bugs on PS4 or different experiences for many anyway. Since I have it on PC I'll try it on Steam instead even though the original version is supposed to be slightly better than the so called Deathfinitie edition as well.
How could you 'forget' about this - its been mentioned a lot - especially with IGC giving away Darksiders 2 this month...
Between this and Biomutant, I'm pretty excited for THQ Nordic's 2018 lineup. Here's hoping for a summer release.
Sincerely first line was babyish to say the least. This is one series many love. It's well made and a cracker to play and most of all a wonderful single player experience.
Looks pretty good, the triple jump is cool.
@Radbot42 What the difference between ds 1 & 2? I heard the first one is better.
@wiiware Both are good. If you like action both are well made.
Will be keeping an eye on this. Hopefully the enemies are more challenging than this video seems to show. I enjoyed the DS 2 remaster on the PS4 a lot.
@wiiware
1 is more linear and has a more Zelda feel with God of War combat. 2 is more open world with a focus on loot. There are still dungeons but they felt a bit smaller and not as complex. And then after a while in 2 it felt like a major focus on combat took the spotlight, and left the dungeon crawling out.
I still need to play D2. I have had it forever just never got around to it...
@Octane What do you have against the character designs?
Loved the first 2, excited for this one. Hope it delivers!
