The Witcher developer CD Projekt Red has announced that's opened a new studio in south-western Poland. Dubbed CD Projekt Red Wrocław, the team consists of 18 "talented industry veterans" at its core. Previously, the outfit was known as Strange New Things.
"Wrocław is one of the biggest and most technologically advanced cities in Poland and a playing field for serious creative talent," says CD Projekt president Adam Kiciński. "I think the scope of our current and future projects, as well as the overall package we’re bringing in, will pull in people who were hesitant to move to Warsaw or Cracow.”
Primarily, CD Projekt Red Wrocław will be helping out with the development of upcoming role-playing title Cyberpunk 2077, which, if the rumours are to be believed, we'll be seeing a lot more of at E3 2018.
"CD PROJEKT RED is not a typical game developer — we put gamers, creative freedom and quality games above making business. [CD Projekt Red Wrocław] not only share this approach, but, much like the rest of the team, think that this attitude is essential to creating epic video games," Cyberpunk 2077 director Adam Badowski states.

Wroclaw is the Polish equivalent of having a studio in Stockport.
CD Project Red... The right kind of mindset
Cyberpunk 2077 is going to be enormous. The manpower and time going into it is quite impressive.
I love the Witcher 3, I'm actually playing through it right now. Awesome, huge game. Almost every quest be it side quest or main is done very good and very interesting. I'm just wondering, besides Witcher series, what other games have they done.
@themcnoisy or Frankfurt
Weird how that works; prioritizing quality helps to sell your game, but no, EA, Activision, and Konami require microtransactions and lootboxes for their money. Just goes to show you which companies are more talented.
I wish them all the success, Marcin is somewhat of an idol for me
These guys are the best along with Guerilla Games... putting the game and gamers first...in 20 years their games will be fondly remembered whereas EA's and Konami's rubbish will rightly be despised and probably forgotten.
