Well, Cyberpunk 2077 is finally back. CD Projekt Red's next role-playing game showed up at the end of Microsoft's E3 2018 press conference, as expected, in the form of a cinematic trailer.
The trailer itself is absolutely superb -- sick synth beats included -- but before you crash into the comments section to shout about it, no, there was no gameplay reveal.
However, if rumours are to be believed, actual gameplay will be shown to press behind closed doors during E3, so here's hoping that we don't have to wait too long to see the title in action.
In the meantime, check out the ridiculously cool trailer and let us know what you think in the comments section below.

Will Sony regret stepping back this year? Microsoft were impressive tonight. Their best ever conference imo
i must be honest and say that the trailer didn't do much for me.
i expected more. kinda let down tbh
@Rob_230
it was a good show for all gamers but for xbox itself it was kinda lacking. meh exclusives and most of them are just timed.
It looks really neat. I'm interested.
Kinda disappointed with the trailer, I was expecting more. I was expecting a dark settings too.
where is the neon drenched nightlife
Maybe 2077 is actually the year the game will come out lol
Meh, if this was the only trailer shown to the public for Cyberpunk at E3, then no gameplay is a disappointment.
Wow , that looks amazing. Only thing I'm interested about at this E3.
Fantastic trailer. Nailed the vibe perfectly.
So hyped for this.... Would have liked more a 'game-play' segment rather than a composite like this to see the moment to moment action
Less than I expected but still think it looks amazing. Never expected gameplay but believe it will be shown to press. No date though, might still be a while off. Didn't notice the In-engine message first time, if it looks close to this that will be killer
Loved it, especially how it was introduced like they hacked the Xbox conference. The art-style is great and they're definitely shooting for a packed world setting.
I just hope it's third-person or has the option.
Bloody hell cdpr! What are you doing to us! Didn't expect gameplay but a release date....? Cmon! Looked incredible tho! Loved the vibe of the trailer. Really enjoyed xbox conference hopefully sony have some surprises up their sleeve.....
It looks nice. Was hoping there'd be gameplay, even if it was unlikely, but the setting seems interesting.

I'm not interested in this game after seeing the trailer, I want gritty cyberpunk like blade runner, not a mix of rage 2 + borderland
Their previous trailer (the one with slo-mo bullets) is way cooler.
Biggest disappointment so far! Looked like a Deus Ex/Watch Dogs/Blade Runner hybrid...also no gameplay :/
That whip is dope. Word up son.
@Rob_230 Yeah but how many were exclusives? Sounds like all they showed were was their usual franchises and saying they bought a few studios. It seems exciting cos Xbox has had nothing for a long while.
Can't wait for this. I'd like to know how long the wait will be though! Not even a year for the expected release date : (
Okie...
See that car?... That cool looking car that the MC is driving...
It can fly right?... Like that , Back To The Future car... The Flying Delorean...
It can right?... Right?...
@AFCC "Looked like a Deus Ex/Watch Dogs/Blade Runner hybrid"
You madman, what on earth did you expect from a cyberpunk game called Cyberpunk 2077?
I'm honestly a bit disappointed with this trailer. I think the tone is all off, and the protagonist seems very run-of-the-mill. The voice over just seemed really generic, as well. "It's a city of dreams, and I'm a BIG dreamer." Oh, come on!
I hope I'm wrong about this. I was so excited to see this game, but I got a bit of a slap in the face from that trailer. I'm hoping it's just a one off and the game itself is great (God knows CD Projekt deserve the benefit of the doubt), but I'm not overly enthralled at this point.
"It's been over 2077 days since we announced our plan to develop Cyberpunk 2077. We released a CGI trailer, gave some interviews and... went dark. Normal procedure for these kinds of
things - you announce a game then shut up, roll up your sleeves and go to work. We wanted to give you The Witcher 3 and both expansions first, which is why this period of staying silent
was longer than we planned. Sorry for that.
As soon as we concluded work on Blood and Wine, we were able to go full speed ahead with CP2077's pre-production. But we chose to remain silent. Why? At some point, we made a decision
to resume talking about the game only when we have something to show. Something meaningful and substantial. This is because we do realize you've been (im)patiently waiting for a very
long time, and we wouldn't like anyone to feel that we're taking this for granted. On the contrary - it gives us a lot of extra motivation. The hype is real, so the sweat and tears need to be
real, too
But, to the point. Today is the day. If you're seeing this, it means you saw the trailer - our vision of Cyberpunk, an alternative version of the future where America is jin pieces,
megacorporations control all aspects of civilized life, and gangs rule the rest. And, while this world is full of adrenaline, don't let the car chases and guns mislead you. Cyberpunk 2077 us a
true single player, story-driven RPG. You'll be able to create your own character and... well, you'll get to know the rest from what we show at our booth at E3. Be on the lookout for the previews!
Before we finish, you probably have some questions, right?
1. When?
When we told you we would only release the game when it's ready, we meant it. We're definitely much closer to a release date than we were back then , but it's still not the time to
confirm anything, so patience is still required. Quality is the only thing that drives us - it's beauty of being an independent studio and your own publisher.
2 How big?
Seriously big, but..., to be honest, we have no bloody clue at this point in time. Once we put it all together, we will openly tell you what you can expect. And we promise we'll do this before we start
taking any pre-orders or ask anything of you.
3.Free DLC/Expansions/DRM?
Expect nothing less than you got with The Witcher 3. As for DRM, CP2077 will be 100% DRM-free on PC.
4.Microtransactions?
In a single-player game? Are you nuts?
Once again, thank you for your patience. If you have a minute, do visit cyberpunk.net and share you opinion (about anything) with us. We read everything you post and we treat it very seriously.
Yours,
CD PROJECT RED Team"
Someone found that hidden in a frame of the video
@adf86 @jdv95 i follow you guys absolutely. But does it matter if they are exclusive? I just think a strong E3 can really drive sales and everyone will be talking about xbox. I agree most of the exclusive stuff we have seen hundreds of times before.
@ShogunRok A little bit of originality and a bit less levity x)
@Rob_230 Going by the recent successes of Horizon, Detroit and God of War then yes it does matter cos it builds up an identity for the brand.
@AFCC Why, you...!
Absolutely incredible trailer, I’m beyond excited for this!
@ShogunRok I'm sorry, man! I know people are hyped for this...but maybe I was expecting something else, Idk! Hope the gameplay turns out to be good, I really do...
@AFCC Just as long as it's not like Deus Ex, am I right?
How CD project basically hacked the stage while Phil Spencer was still talking was just perfect.
I think they wanted to show more of the world this time around. And it fits cyberpunk 2077 perfectly.
@ShogunRok as long as you can do the safety dance....
But seriously, this is 3rd person, right?
If this is anything like The Witcher 3 then I'll enjoy it Just was hoping for something a bit different!
Also, just read that no microtransations, free dlc and expansions like The Witcher 3, etc...so they are following the same good path!
Eh. I was hoping for something darker and more atmospheric like Shadowrun or Blade Runner. Also didn't like the generic-looking protagonist. I'm not a big fan of Geralt's design, but at least he was unique. This guy looks like he could have stepped out of Watch Dogs 2.
I'll wait for gameplay, but first impressions for this aren't great.
@tatsumi That was increeeedible !
I was hoping for a bit more but still super hyped.
I need this
Please don't let the driving suck. Please don't let the driving suck. Please don't let the driving suck.
The first teaser/trailer didn't do much for me but this looks amazing! Makes me want a Ghost in the Shell game developed by CD Projekt Red.
@Splat there doing a sit down with the game awards dude today or tomorrow
This kind of game is right up my alley. Despite still not loving the way Quantic Dream games play, I love Detroit because of its setting and this one dials that up to 11. Knowing CD Projekt Red's penchant for great stories and certainly not giving a crap what the easily offended crowd has to say, I can't wait to see how this turns out. A big reason I couldn't get into The Witcher games aside from its setting was the gameplay, there's something about it I just didn't enjoy but I can overlook that if the world they create here is compelling and there is little reason to doubt CDPR in that category.
Wow, I wasn't expecting to actually like this game, but consider me on board for playing it soon as I have the free time and it's on sale .
Will this make it in time for ps4,or will we have to wait for ps5?
@Gamer83 If the gameplay is anything like quantic games,im in. Are you sure though? Hoping its in 3rd person.
To me it comes off as a GTA in a futuristic setting. And that’s not necessarily a good thing. Without gameplay though it’s hard to tell for sure.
@WanderingBullet what anime is that gif from? Looks like Ghibli, but I thought I've seen them all.
@Jake3103 on the same page here. It doesn't have the same vibe as the very first trailer. If someone would tell me it's a watch dogs 3 set 50 years in the future I would believe it. Feels very hipster 😐
@hulkie
It won't play like Quantic Dreams games. What I was saying is that my love for cyberpunk settings and the story told in Detroit overcame my dislike for the way QD's games play, I'm not a huge fan of the quick time even style. CD Projekt Red's games don't play similar to QD's at all. If anything this will play like The Witcher, another series I'm not totally fond of in the gameplay category, but The Witcher, for what it is, has a cool story and good characters. My hope is that Cyberpunk 2077 will also have strong stories, cool characters and an open world that is fun enough to explore that it overshadows the 'meh' combat that will surely be present.
@tameshiyaku It is by Ghibli but it's a music video using On Your Mark (J-Pop song) animated by them.
@WanderingBullet thanks, gonna check that out
"And, while this world is full of adrenaline, don't let the car chases and guns mislead you. Cyberpunk 2077 us a
true single player, story-driven RPG."
Well, this is good news for me. The trailer is a little something, but CDPR isn't one to make games lightly and the success of W3 means they can do it on their own timeline. That's cool, I'll wait.
I'm with @Neolit and this will most likely turn into a PS5 release, which will be dope.
@tameshiyaku No problem, man. I don't think not a lot people know about this. The first I saw this video was during the duo's concert back in the 90's.
Totally disappointed. I was expecting a much darker atmosphere with a slower pace, more like the recent Detroit.
