Marvel’s Spider-Man! Call of Duty: Black Ops 4! Red Dead Redemption 2! Of all the titles for the PlayStation 4 to hang its figurative fedora on this fall, we reckon Sony’s picked the right ones here. This new Best Place to Play ad will likely run online over the course of the holidays, and while it’s nothing particularly fancy, it gives us a little insight into which titles the platform holder will be pushing hard over the next three months.
Of course, it’s also got FIFA 19 under its umbrella here in Europe, which is going to help the company sell a scary number of units in the all-important run-up to Christmas as well. Do you reckon that this lineup is strong enough to carry the company through the holidays? What else does it need to do to secure a successful end to the year? Play armchair analyst in the comments section below.

Too bad DQXI wasn't featured.
The lineup is really strong and I think Sony is doing right by releasing the exclusives before the holidays.
Multiplats like RDR 2, Call of Duty, Fifa and Battlefield sell a lot, many great games suffered with low sales because they were released at the same time.
What, no Dreams beta?
@rjejr We can, er, dream.
Sony is really killing atm! Quality, quality titles 1st and 3rd party! Unlike some competition...ahem.
Its a shame they cant feature dragon quest and valkyria chronicles, but realistically it was never going to happen so probably the right choices. Glad destiny isnt featured.
For some reason i thought that Concrete Genie game was going to be released this fall as well. I guess not.
Obviously those are the games you want to feature for the mainstream. For me the big 3 are Yakuza Kiwami 2, Spider-Man and the soon to be released Fist of the North Star: Lost Paradise (really liked what I played in the demo).
@PS_Nation
I say anything released in September or after technically counts as a 'holiday' release, since it's later in the year. No doubt Spider-Man will get a big marketing push when Black Friday rolls around. May even see God of War thrust back to the forefront.
@get2sammyb Finally back from vacation - aka Shenmue 1 & 2 - I see.
@Gamer83 God of War may left left in the background for the holidays but I expect a GotY edition in the spring. Though if it doesn't sell well at that point it will almost guarantee GoW2 gets DLC so people have reason to buy the "Complete edition".
@Oh_fiddlesticks "Concrete Genie"
I was going to make a joke about Concrete Genie as well, thought it was due out by now, or soon, but Dreams, and it's oft delayed beta, has been a running gag for years I just can't let go.
It's good for casuals, but I prefer. . . a different experience. Dragon Quest, fist of the North star, Spyro, and Spider-Man are my future purchases.
@Rob_230 so you’re glad Destiny was...Forsaken? 😉
@Oh_fiddlesticks It may well be but it’s unlikely to be a focal point of their marketing efforts like these three will be.
They’re clearly throwing every cent of budget they’ve got at these games, and it’s hard to argue with really.
As far as commercials go, this is inevitably going to get a lot of play on prime-time TV in the run-up to Christmas and, frankly, it's what you want. Guns, explosions, cowboys and superheroes. All things likely to get people who don't already own a PS4 to plonk some cash down and get one.
@EVIL-C My man! Thought and was gonna say the same thing! Also, fist of the North Star and maybe Valkyrie 4? I’m sure there is more too....
@ztpayne7 haha 😂 if i could give you more than 1 like i would!
They obviously know what they're doing, but this is a pretty depressing trailer. It's like making a reel to show how magical and amazing cinema can be, what a heritage it has, how much imagination and creative power is on display... And it's made up of clips from three Marvel movies. They're popular, they're good at what they do, but there's so much more out there.
Mmm wont be buying any of those.
