Ubisoft's not having a great time trying to get these live events in Assassin's Creed Odyssey to work. The title's first mercenary event was cancelled after the developer couldn't get it into everyone's game, and so it was pushed into the next week. However, problems have arisen again, and now, it's been shoved even further back into November.
Ubisoft writes: "Two weeks ago, when we attempted to launch the first Epic Mercenary Event with Damais the Indifferent, we discovered that the content didn’t properly appear for a majority of our players. It wasn’t satisfactory to have an event available to only a portion of our players, so we decided to temporarily remove the Epic Mercenary Events from the game altogether until the issue is resolved. We are working on a fix and are hoping to introduce them later this month. We will provide an updated ETA as soon as possible."
Until everything's sorted, the developer's going to keep players busy with 'Epic Ship' events instead. As the name suggests, you're going to be hunting down ships rather than mercenaries for the time being.
