Hyper Light Drifter is one of our favourite PS4 indie titles, so we're excited to see a first glimpse of developer Heart Machine's follow-up project. The studio has released a teaser trailer for its next game, called Solar Ash Kingdom, and you can see it above.
Currently only confirmed for PC, it looks like it'll be another highly stylised, atmospheric action adventure. Details are extremely thin on the ground, but we do know it's being published by Annapurna Interactive, and sees a move away from the gorgeous pixel art of its predecessor. We'll have to wait and see if it comes to PS4, but seeing as Heart Machine's last game made it across, it's likely it'll make its way to consoles.
What do you think of Solar Ash Kingdom from this short clip? Did you enjoy Hyper Light Drifter? Let us know in the comments below.

Day one.
It looks interesting, but I'm still bitter about that cancelled Vita port. So I'll withhold judgment for now.
Yessss. Can't wait. Hyper Light Drifter is so great! And the lineup of games Annapurna has to it's name just gets even more insane!
@Kidfried Wheyyy!
HLD is easily one of the best games of this gen and the only game I’ve bothered playing through multiple times since the PS1 days. It’s basically the game that I would like to have made if I had the skills and imagination.
So i’ll happily grind up anything Heart Machine put out and inject it into my bottom.
I hope DP is on soundtrack duty again.
I loved Hyper Light Drifter on Switch. This looks like more of the same but in 3D, so I definitely have my eye on it.
Kind of a shame it's not more pixel art as I loved HLD and want more games with it's aesthetic.
Then I thought to myself, HLD is like A link to the Past, imagine if this one is like Ocarina of Time... lol
I wouldn't be lying if I said I'll be buying it for the soundtrack alone!
Looks a bit like Ashen with rollerblades.
I like how they're using the same color palette for this game as well. I actually prefer this over HLD's pixel art.
Yeah ill be getting this. HLD is a personal favorite of mine...except the dash challenge.
HLD had such good gameplay mechanics. Give me more!
