While the PlayStation 5 remake of Demon's Souls is incredibly faithful to the 2009 classic, it has added a little something of its own. In the third level of the initial Boletarian Palace Archstone is a brand new door hidden behind an illusory wall, and the hardcore Souls community has no idea how to open it as of right now. Reddit users have tried to fulfil certain requirements to see if they have any effect, including wearing certain armour sets and racing to the door straight away in case there's a time limit, but nothing seems to be working.
However, using a Photo Mode trick, we have gotten a glimpse of what's on the other side. A glowing item is placed on top of what looks to be some sort of stone drinking basin next to a balcony, essentially confirming that the door in question can actually be opened. Otherwise, why would the mysterious item be there in the first place? The discovery is similar to that of Bluepoint Games' previous remake of Shadow of the Colossus, in which fans uncovered a new tomb by collecting 79 Gold Coin Relics. The new location rewarded a brand new sword, so it's probably safe to say that whatever is behind Demon's Souls' new door is of a similar nature.
What do you think could be behind this new door? Speculate in the comments below.

I hope it's a pendant.
Lets be honest. Whatever is behind the door will be angry. And it will tear the player character a new one ๐
Bloodborne 2
Or maybe itโs a trick and the door actually canโt be opened and the item either reduces stats or brands the player somehow. Then again, I imagine the Souls community is not one theyโd want to peev off.
Gabe logan from syphon filter is there telling bluepoint hey im ready for a remake or i use a taser on you.haha.word up Pittsburgh Steelers son
Love stuff like this. Hopefully someone will figure it out soon!
Knock knock.
Who's there?
...
Opening that door is the only way to access PS5 extra storage.
It needs a key, probably linked to item collection, as so many of these things often are.
Its already been cracked. You need to get a key which is made up of 5 shards hidden around the world. Blacksmith will forge the key for 100,000 souls. When you get the item from behind the door it stops call of duty crashing your console.
Its probably scrapped content. They do it all the time. Even bloodborne had a whole ice area that never made it to the full game.
People expecting it leads to a new dlc area im guessing.
IT'S A BRAND NEW CAR!!!!!!!!!!
It leads nowhere, that door was purposely placed there by the remake devs for no other reason aside from getting fans to think there is something special to unlock when in reality there's nothing.
Anyone trying to solve this obvious bait is just wasting their time, these type of games are always pulling crap like this.
From Software have not worked on this remake and Bluepoint did not add any new content.
The only hint this gives is that Bluepoint may be remaking a true Dark Souls remake given how illusory walls were first introduced in Dark Souls, not Demon Souls.
So if anything Bluepoint added that illusory wall as a hint to what they are working on next, which could be a Dark Souls Remake, not that trash remastered version BANDAI NAMCO shoved out the door as a cash grab.
@malbhet you wash your mouth out...
@malbhet I fail to see how the Dark Souls remaster is "trash" when it was the exact same game as the original with all the content plus all at 60fps.
Behind those doors sits graphics designer and finishing menu design once he is (in 5 years) done, door opens and you get "all menu theme"
๐๐๐ sorry but even free flash games have more designed menus and inventories than this.
@AdamNovice I mean it's trash not because of the game but because of the lazy effort put into by Bandai Namco just to cash in.
The remaster could have been way better, all Bandai Namco had to do was at least hire a competent 3rd party, preferably Bluepoint, and implement the visual assets from DS3 into DS1re, it literally would have taken little effort to at least try to make the game look as close to DS3, but they didn't even bother to try and make the game look good, hence trash.
It took less effort for individual modders to make the game look better on PC, yet a big company like Bamco couldn't do the same with a full team?
Pure bladestone
@malbhet Sorry but Bluepoint have added new content. There's new armour, rings, shields, weapons, grasses, new items to trade with Sparkly The Crow, music and sound FX. And as for saying "illusory walls were first introduced in Dark Souls, not Demon Souls" sorry but that is also incorrect as there's two in The Shrine Of Storms and now Bluepoint have added a further one!
