Can you believe that Cyberpunk 2077 is actually out this Thursday? No, we're being serious — it's finally happening. Unless Earth gets hit by an asteroid or something, which at this point wouldn't surprise us in the slightest.
Cyberpunk 2077 is arguably the biggest game of 2020 — one of the biggest games of the entire generation — but we want to know if you're buying it. Have you been waiting on this game since its announcement all those years ago? Maybe you've only just recently bought into the hype? Or perhaps you're going to check out how well the console version actually runs before committing to a purchase?
Whatever your stance, vote in our polls, and then give us an accurate hype level reading in the comments section below.

Hell yes, of course I'll play it on launch, I've been waiting for the game for years
Yep, I have had it pre-ordered for what seems like years! I will be playing it on my PS5 but on disc via backwards compatibility. I really can't wait
Just waiting on ps5 version before i pick it up. Sadly i dont have time to play larger games more than once, so i'd rather wait and play the native version next year
I'm playing it on Series X, the other option doesn't work though in the poll (no matter what you type in it says invalid option)
No interest on this game.
I'll play it on PS5 once the next gen version is actually out (not backwards compatibility).
Just a standard PS4 here so I'm waiting for the news on how it runs.
I have it pre-ordered, and I'll be playing on my PS4 Pro, and I bought a copy for my fianceé too. I'll replay on PS5 when I get one.
I'm excited to finally play this! Work is going to be brutal on the 10th! Lol
Have it pre-ordered to play on my PS5, but will be waiting for my winter break to play it since it's such a time investment. Hoping a lot of these bugs will be squashed by then too, but we'll see...
I will wait for the actual PS5 version.
Waiting for PS5 native.
@Makina so why click on an article about it?
Mine was dispatched today!
It seems like quite a lot of us are waiting on the PS5 version. That should have been on option on the poll.
Voted "not sure" because I'm not very interested but might still pick it up someday. Definitely not before there's a PS5 version though.
Have PS5 but will be getting it on PC more than likely
Yep, I have it pre-loaded on both my PC and laptop. Ready to go
The wallet got emptied last night could not resist it just hope its not too buggy where it makes me not enjoy it like Watch Dogs 3.
I’ll get it when the next gen patch drops, not sure which system on yet but I’ll wait, seems like the smart thing to do for now.
I'll get it, but not day one. I'll wait for a sale...or a PS5, which ever comes first.
I will be waiting for the actual/true native PS5 version in 2021, then wait even longer for that to drop down to $20 New in 2-3 years with the inevitable DLC included.
(Even if they haven't announced DLC yet, it's bound to happen like with Witcher)
Cancelled my preorder because I have too much of a backlog and so will hold out until it’s upgraded for ps5!
Waiting for the PS5 version, hopefully most of the bugs will also be fixed by then, and it will be more of a "complete edition".
Preordered since 2016 but I have a huge backlog lol
@Bezbot
PC here.. So that is "other"
If this version is okay once it hits the market I'll probably end up getting it to play on PS5 next time I want a game, otherwise I'll wait for the full fat PS5 version.
This should be a poll option:
“Only have interest in this game as not much else to do in these unprecedented times”
🤠
Seeing as nobody could buy a ps5 there's plenty voted to play on that console
Was going to wait while I finish AC Valhalla. But that has become so dull I'm going to stop and maybe comeback to it in 6 months.
All the negatives I've read about it are based on bugs and trans representation while the game itself seems very much what I'm after. The bugs will be fixed and the representation isn't important to me.
@Greenfisted To read the article and see polls results.
Currently contemplating cancelling my pre-order and waiting for the bugs to be sorted. The size of these patches is very off-putting.
@Pac_Bot Good luck with that, i'd like to know too but Pushsquare don't seem to review anything on standard PS4 anymore despite most people having them.
I'm sure someone somewhere will publish/report something
I cancelled my Xbox one pre-order back during the last delay announcement and judging from everything glad i did. I'll wait till it drops on Xbox Gamepass in 6 months hopefully by then it will be fixed.
@Tulio517
Same here wait for ps5
@Spoonman-2 Complete with the cowboy emoji?
Do not want to wait for RayTracing so playing this one on PC (Valhalla keeping my PS5 active)
I also got it a bit cheaper on GOG... already spent way to much money on gaming at this point 😅
After Tom Marks (IGN) line "I envy those who get to try this game in 6 months when its patched", I'm quite happy waiting for a price drop scheduled after 4 months based on witcher 3 release and hopefully with some patches that make the base ps4 version work, or maybe by then stock of ps5 will be a thing again and the ps5 version of cyberpunk will be out.
50/50 on getting this at launch. I think many of us would like to know when the 'PS5 ' version is coming, but it is what it is. Anyone who wants to hook up for some multiplayer from time to time then add me - HotstuffFred 👍
Why no option for proper ps5 version?
@Makina Interested enough though to leave a comment.
🤔
Why are you so negative all the time? Is there anything you actually DO like?
No. They said they wanted to respect the religions depicted, yet they had the Catholic Church change its doctrine on key issues, which is heresy and impossible, as Church doctrine does not change. Such an act is a denial of the Holy Spirit’s ability to protect Church teaching, and thus blasphemy as well. I have to put my foot down.
This is also without mentioning the sacrilegious depiction of the blessed Mother in the game in relation to a gang that has a devotion to an apparition. Yes, the Church in the game condemned the devotion, but it’s still incredibly messed up to depict Christ’s mother and our mother like that. It’s just downright evil.
Preordered and paid over a year ago. But wouldn't be buying now if I hadn't. Would be waiting for a sale probably, so much backlog to play.
@Col_McCafferty Having no interest on a game is being negative? I don't even say the game is bad...
I'll wait a few months until the bugs get ironed out the same I did for The Witcher 3, Red Dead Redemption 2, AC Odyssey and Ghost of Tsushima.
Got it downloaded on my original PS4 and ready to play at midnight tomorrow. Woooooooooooo!!
If I can hold off, I will wait for the PS5 version. But maybe I wont be able to wait.
@-Juice- They change when there's benefit. I mean, if you celebrate christmas you're already commiting blasphemy.
Never played a CDPR game, and this probably won't get me on board.
@-Juice-
W... T... F...? 😳
I'll be waiting for the proper PS5 version. Hope everyone getting it at launch enjoys!
@ApostateMage I hope they've patched it up for you as the performance shown in leaks is rough! Luckily on PS5 there's a 60fps mode.
I hope you enjoy man! What lifepath you choosing?
I really enjoyed Witcher 3, but the more I see of this and read about it. It’s not my cup of tea.
It seems to heavily RPG for me and to much text.
I get on well with the latest assassins creed and Ghost of T bit this seems to much. Also I prefer mainly more wild based foliage and forest type areas with wild life to explore and in day light.
Cyberpunk, looks all concrete and dark and boring and not much fun.
@Makina I can't speak to whether you have some reputation for being negative or not but, for the record, I think giving your opinion in the comments, when it's literally a poll asking your opinion, seems perfectly reasonable to me.
@Tulio517 same. Have it preordered but want to give it its proper playthrough so i will just wait till PS5
I'm going to play it on PS5, but only because I'm worried it'll make my PS4 too loud for such a dialogue-driven game. Otherwise I'd probaby get it this month
make this 3rd person and I'm all in. Not a fan of 1st person games.
Looks great though, but I'll spend my money elsewhere.
@ShogunRok
Yarp 🤠
Absolutely, I've been looking forward to this one for a long time
@DonJorginho I don't really mind bugs or slight frame rate drops in games as long as I'm loving said game which I know I will be.
Starting off as a Street Kid. Female V. I'm so bloody excited! What path are you choosing, Don?
Day one players are getting a bug fest. What's the point? Buy in a few months, you'll get a far superior version.
@ApostateMage oh yeah when I'm this hyped for a title performance isn't a big issue for me! And Street Kid looks so good. I saw the start of it and it's amazing!
I'm personally gonna dedicate my first playthrough to the Nomad lifepath, just feel like for the first time playing this behemoth of a title it'll be fitting to have my entrance into Night City be a grand reveal when I enter for the first time from The Badlands.
I'm gonna go with a Male V for my first playthrough and for my second I'm thinking a ruthless Corpo playthrough as a female V.
I'll just say I've watched loads of leaked gameplay streams and it's met the hype for me! The verticality of the world is no joke and the gunplay is really good!
I was going to play it at launch on my PC, but, for whatever reason, this game seems to be tremendously demanding, and my old video card just isn't up to the task of running it smoothly. I'll play it whenever I upgrade my video card or get a PS5. Whichever happens first.
I'm going to wait for the next gen version. Hopefully all the bugs will be fixed by then.
I think they kinda screwed themselves a bit by marketing it as a last gen ps4 game and releasing it at the absolute end of the ps4s life cycle and then totally back pedaling and refusing to show it except on next gen or suped up PCs.
They should have just focused and only released on ps5 imo.
I'll definitely play it, but later down the road, either when the PS5 version releases or it goes on sale, whatever comes first.
Yesterday I've been holding a few dozens copies in my hand, thinking for a second, but settled in my previous decision to leave it at "in far far future maybe buy it" list. But by the way that collectors edition looks pretty good...
I've got the PS4 disc version coming on Thursday, but I won't be playing it until I have a PS5. I have a PS4 Pro, but I know that it will run better on PS5. It will also be patched to get rid of some of the bugs by the time that I get a PS5.
Waiting for goty edition with all expansions.
I'm waiting until I can find a PS5 before I play any new games, including this one.
Pre-ordered months ago and will be playing on my PS5.
I’ll wait a while until the patches are fixed and the PS5 update is out. It’ll also be cheaper. Triple victory.
Since the 'Other' option doesn't work, pre-ordered and pre-loaded on my PC. Didn't get that 3080 for nothing. Hoping for 4K DLSS + RT at 60fps, but doesn't look like it will happen, not at least without a few patches.
I'm buying it, but I have some reservations about doing so with all the transphobia stuff surrounding it and CDProjekt.
@Makina i hate to break it to ya, but that shows interest.
Might wait for the ps5 version
I won't get it till I get a ps5.
I’ll be playing on PS4 Pro and probably another run or two on PS5 when I get one.
Nah, backlog is way too huge for me to invest the time needed for cyberpunk so I'll wait a while before I buy.
Just doesnt seem like my time of game from the previews so no. I didnt find the Witcher 3 compelling either though, so I dont have the expectation of greatness that people who enjoy that game have.
I’m waiting for the native PS5 version.
i'll be playing on my PC with my new 3080.
Mines downloaded and there’s another update too. On PS4 the game size is 102GB. The update is 28GB but is that part of the 102GB or to be added? Cannot wait to enter Night City.
Gonna Wait for a native PS5 version.
Got it coming Thursday for my PS5 will download it then give it back to my daughter to wrap up for Christmas. Rest mode will be on constantly, so by Boxing day or early evening Christmas day when everyone is catching fly's on the settee I'll jump in it.Think I'll start as Street Kid.
Might just add I might not be able to wait so I'll need to convince my daughter I'm just gonna check if theres any bugs lol.
Pre ordered for the one x, me getting it on pc depends how good the one x can hold up
I have never been interested in this game as I hate first-person perspective in games and find cyberpunk genre tropes and aesthetic to be egregiously corny and outdated.
Where have you found all those PS5's???
I ain't finding s**t at retailers in Ukraine.
All stock is being bought out 15-30 minutes after release at every retailer..
So, I pre-ordered it for my PS4Pro, have no other choice.
PC is not an option for me, as I hate aesthetics of playing on PC, even I have a decent one.
@palmab I am well jel.
Tempted, however prefer to wait for the native PS5 version. And by then most serious bugs will be gone.
Was going to wait for the PS5 version, but I cracked yesterday and pre-ordered it. Have it downloaded now on my PS5 and look forward to playing it. After buying Demon's Souls, Miles Morales, Cold War, and not Cyberpunk that is definitely the end of my game buying for a while.
Not sure, as I'm not much of an RPG fan. If I do, I'll probably get it on PC.
The second question in the poll doesn't work. Says "invalid answer" no matter what you choose.
I pre ordered this on my PS4 pro, and I got my PS5 yesterday. I think I might play both to see what the differences are and I can share my thoughts in the forum on here.
Wil be playing this on my PS4 Pro.
By the spring it ought to be a little cheaper AND have enough bug fixes to be worth picking up. Since I got a launch-day PS5, waiting for the PS5 version will be nice, too.
No hurry...we've waited THIS long. Let them get the game-breaking bugs worked out so I'm not tempted to throw my controller.
Waiting for the PS5 version.
Wanted to wait for the PS5 version but I just couldn't. Hoping there's some sort of save transfer with the upgrade but if not, I'll just stick with the PS4 version.
Pre-ordered the PS4 version a long time ago, plan to pick it up on day one and play it on PS5. Hopefully that will mean fewer bugs than if I play it on PS4.
Had no clue who CDPR was until Witcher 3 came out and that has become my favorite game ever slightly ahead of A Link to The Past and Final Fantasy 6. Probably the most hyped I've ever been for a game. I'm sure there's going to be bugs and if it's handled like they did Witcher 3 it'll get sorted out. That 101 GB download is sitting there ready for tomorrow at Midnight. PS4 Pro will be sounding like a jet engine guaranteed. Happy gaming to all no matter what you'll be playing
@Rob_230 I wasn't aware that they'll be releasing a full PS5 version. Thought all we're getting is just a free upgrade for the PS4 version.
Yes definitely.game looks amazing.word up son
This is a game that begs to be played on a next gen console. So... since I can’t find a PS5, it will have to wait.
I will buy it sometime next year when Its released on Ps5, Not going to buy it when it launches on Ps5........ I will wait for and next gen bugs to get fixed first
Cannot choose the ''Other'' option. So that's why it's still at 0% I think. I got it pre-ordered on PC.
@spyro202 It’s Push Square insinuating that PC isn’t a valid choice 😂
@nessisonett Even writing nothing in the box after, nothing. But oh well XD Still waiting impatiently for this game!
I will play it on PS5 in BC PS4 mode while I wait for the FREE upgraded PS5 version. I want to play each faction more than once to see the dialog changes and other endings.
Pre-ordered on June 13, 2019, I'm ready and waiting
No ,i wont buy it.
I'm saving it. It'll be the 1st game I get on PS5... Whenever that will be
I am buying the PS5 version when it release's sometime 2021, which by then it'll be a lot more stable game. We've only seen and reviewed one version of the game PC, apart from selective gameplay footage of PS4 Pro/XboxOne X. To me that's a red flag in itself, but they are working on 8 different platforms which isn't the case of just pushing a button called scalability.
I would have bought it, but they lost me when they stated it was first person view only.
Waiting for confirmation of PS5 upgrade and date. Will decide then
Absolutely no interest. Looks like the kind of world I would never want to be exposed to in any way.
Lack of PlayStation reviews etc give me the heebie jeebies. I’ll wait and see how this plays out over the next few weeks
I want know the Day one patch size im against buying Bluray coasters. Looking out for reviews first i still believe this game should have been released next year more time and less crunch.
I'll buy it once the PS5 version is released.
I'm hyped for the game, but I've been waiting for years, so a few more months means nothing. Also in that time the game will get some of the millions of bugs plaguing it squashed, se the wait will be worth it.
I'll absolutely be playing cyberpunk, but not until I get a PS5. And that's probably about 12 months away from happening.
But I have a massive backlog to get through, so I'm ok with it.
@Medic_Alert Exactly. I've waited years, happy to wait a few more if it means playing the best and most complete version of the game.
Backlog is already long enough. Still have to play Ghost of Tsushima, Days Gone, Nier:Automata or Jedi Fallen Order next
Still undecided. Will revisit it next year and see how people have reacted to it in the long term. Tempted though.
Preordered and downloaded ready for midnight tonight to play 😁
@Medic_Alert I know I sound like a broken record with this. But DLC and having the complete experience is yet another one of my main reasons for waiting to play games nowadays. (patched, complete, with dlc, price, etc.)
On Single player DLC, there's definitely some that shouldn't exist AKA it's a low quality, B-team cash grab. (Far Cry 5) Others are wonderful and integral to the whole experience.
Fallout 4 - imho you didn't miss much honestly.
Bloodborne - You missed everything (New Hunters is some of the best content in the game) Difficult to go back to just to dip into -skill curve would be too frustrating. Replay it?
Same for Dark Souls 3
EDIT: couple more
Dishonored 1 DLC - The main game was a complete tale that missed nothing. It never felt something was removed (unlike many DLC) Yet the DLC added another layer on top of that. Clever, clever.
Prey Mooncrash: Changed the gameplay on it's head, foced you to change up playstyle and think on your feet. A marvel of game design
I'm waiting for the actual PS5 game.
@themightyant
I thought exactly the same way...
BUT! Everyone is now waiting for a raytraced version for a first person RPG when you can play it in 60FPS now and you won´t be able to play it in 60FPS with Raytracing on a console... so there is my problem. Other than that maybe we will get dualsense support but I don´t think that will happen.
I will play it now and when I look at comparison videos of PS5 Vs PC there is not that much difference.
@ORO_ERICIUS Agreed it is unlikely to be 4K 60fps with full ray tracing. That's not what I expect. What I do expect is CDPR to make sensible choices to (maybe) offer some sort of ray tracing. And if not, then that is fine too, they again will have made sensible choices and it will be a larger graphical improvement without having to account for expensive RT.
But mostly it's the bugs and all the patches I'm happy to wait for. Watch pretty much ANY review and they spend 25% talking about bugs and they all say they surely can't all, or mostly, be patched in 2 days since the last 30GB+ patch.
For ME i'm happy to wait. Also cool for everyone else if they don't want to. Free will.
Super excited for this game but I think I'm going to try wait until I have a Ps5 and until the ps5 update is released. Having said that, 2 weeks off at Christmas will quite possibly result in me buying it for my Ps4 😂
@themightyant for sure. I get you in every aspect you mentioned. The dayone patch is released tomorrow or not? I think that will be an improvement. I can easily say that I will try the game and search for bugs. If I find some which are very bad I will wait. No problem there .
This one is a true dilemma to me... I pre-ordered and consider playing right away on PS5 via compatibility but... I'm really majorly afraid that it will suck (compared to native PS5 version with ray tracing and obviously all the bugs fixed).
If only they would announce the PS5 release, cause if it's out in February I'm fine to wait.. but if it's May or later, never mind I will play the PS4 version on PS5 now.
@ORO_ERICIUS It's called a "Day One" patch for a reason so it should be. But who knows when, and how much it fixes is anyone's guess.
I anticipate them to keep patching regularly over the coming weeks up to near Christmas, little break, then back at it. Feel for the devs honestly. They are likely working like crazy to get things fixed.
Then there's the epilepsy/seizure stuff which needs to be a priority, the next gen versions, multiplayer, DLC, Witcher 3 upgrade somewhere. Hope this is all managed well and they all get a decent and deserved break.
Regardless hope you enjoy the game.
@BaronSqwelch agreed. I sold Valhalla after 50 hours gameplay. Lost interest. Not even sure what the story as it seems like just a bunch of mini episodes being recycled.
I preordered and all I have is the base ps4 1tb and I would say I'm going to be a bit worried about game ruining bugs but in my mind I'm justifying it by thinking, if it's got replayability once I get a ps5 ill use the free upgrade and play it again in the future
Poll is broken. I went back and forth on which platform to get it on, but ultimately I pre-ordered on Stadia because I don't have to worry about updates and disk size, it'll automatically get the jump in fidelity when they release the upgraded hardware Q1 2021, and it seems like a game I would want to pull out and play randomly, regardless of where I'm at, to complete a few missions.
Too much to play, so I'm waiting for the PS5 version in 2021
Why have an "Other" if you can't answer the question?
Tried Other with no text - fail.
Tried Other with text - fail.
I pre-ordered the Xbox version.
@ShogunRok hey Robert, sorry to bother you but I saw that the Other button is broken. What I mean by that is that I enter PC in the space given and when I submit it says my answer isn't valid. I also tried computer but it seems it just won't work.
Eventually? Yes. Right now? Hell no. They haven't sent out console copies for review which is really concerning, it's also buggy as all hell but for some reason reviewers are still giving it 10's despite that. Definitely one to wait for.
My copy for PS4 has arrived today and, I've gotta say, it's a really lovely package! Postcards, stickers, a map and a compendium introduction to Night City. It's really impressive! Someone at CDProjekt seems to have the same affection for old physical games releases that I do.
Not until they bring out the next gen version for the PS5.
I’m more than happy to wait and have so much to get on with as I’m a first time PlayStation adopter (as have always bought x box) so the PS Plus games along with Demon Souls give me so much to enjoy well into next year.
It would have been good to have an option for waiting for next gen version launch
I don't have the time quite frankly. I work full time and can only play huge games if their on a handheld. If it gets released on the switch 2 or whatever 5 years down the line then okay but as of right now. Hard pass.
@clvr Hmmm, I'm not sure what that's about. I'll let the relevant people know!
@ShogunRok I didn't know who to refer to so I thought I'd ask you, since you wrote the article 😅
Thank you!
Hopefully they come out with the ps5 patch sooner than later.
@Pac_Bot. Not great
Going to be camping the spawn of the Amazon driver this morning...
