Babylon's Fall has really struggled to find any traction since its re-reveal back in June of last year. You would think that a Platinum-developed, fantasy action RPG is an easy win, but said re-reveal was torn to pieces by potential players. The gameplay itself looked surprisingly jank, and the character models were...well, the less said about them, the better.
A couple of closed betas have offered a bit of hope over the last few months, however. Reportedly, Babylon's Fall plays quite nicely, and there could be a fun grind at the game's core — but it's still tough to say whether it's going to catch on.
It's fortunate, then, that Square Enix will be releasing a demo later this month, on the 25th February, for both PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4. You'll be able to sample the title's opening hours, and the demo includes online co-op for up to four players. What's more, progress made in the demo can be carried over to the full game.
With Babylon's Fall set to launch on the 3rd March, this could be something of a make-or-break situation. Will you be giving it a shot? Cleave through the comments section below.

Here's hoping, I played one of those betas, and boy did I bounce out. Combat felt awful, which was the one thing I expected to be good, but the usual Platinum fluidity was not there at all, everything felt so stiff. Might give it one last chance, but tbh there's not much in there anyway that catches my eye apart from the PlatinumGames logo.
Can't say I'm very interested and I won't be trying it myself unless impressions are really good.
I'm hoping to be convinced by this demo.
This game is hanging on to my wishlist by a thread, which is a shame. I do love a good fantasy action rpg.
Hopefully SE won't be discouraged from trying again if this doesn't work out.
There's always Stranger of Paradise I guess, which I'm also not completely convinced by yet.
I echo the above comments. This demo has to be damn good for me to be in on Babylon's Fall at this point.
Not only you have to pay for the game, they already said it has a paid battlepass.
This thing is DOA.
I’ll wait for it to go free-to-play… and even then I may not try it.
Yeah I'm probably going to pass on the demo. Just not enough time with all the other games coming and I'm just not interested in this one.
I was interested in the game simply because of Platinum games involvement (would have picked it up day one)
But when I looked into it and saw no offline mode it was an instant. I just cant get myself into playing games which will just stop working one day when they switch the servers off.
Its made worse due to the lack of interest (ie its could end up one where the servers shut sooner rather than later.........hey if watchdogs 3 only manages what 2 years......the lifespan of Babalon Falls is just too unknown to take a risk for me)
The trouble is over the past year there has been hype for games like Outriders and Back 4 Blood all similar to this game to the extent of being live service 4 player co op games. None have done well and have few players left playing them, yet here comes another AAA 4 player co op live service sigh…..
I have difficulty outside of MMO’s and FPS like some CoD to think of any 4 person live service game that has done that well and have players crying out for more.
I guess that’s why there is no hype for this one.
I find a 30/60 FPS less bad then a always online so this is no thanks from me.
@Scarla88 The funny or not so funny thing is B4B has had a offline patch. I never understood why they away the choice if you look at something like Champions of Norrath and RE Outbreak on the PS2 you had the option to play off and online. With the newer consoles it seems like they take away options instead of adding them. With this game i found it looking cool but i wont take the always online garbage.
Welp, I have no faith in this because Platinum is begging to be acquired. They announced it publicly.
Sega, Square, Sony or Nintendo would be fine.
I'm hoping this is a great game..i love platinum games even though they are bonkers..
Wait, it's just online?
Jeez. PlayStation's release schedule is STACKED!!
No interest in this game but will read the reviews anyways for the bad scores.
I don't think I will. But if I do then I might do it on a throwaway account. I think i downloaded the closed beta test and then when I opened it, it asked me for a Square Enix ID to sign up so I deleted it.
After going through such a hassle with Final Fantasy XIV trying to play the trial and being locked out from it due to my Square Enix ID being used for the beta test for PS3, it has put me off from using a Square Enix ID as I want to see how things go with FFXIV first (too long of a story to re-type it all up).
To keep it short, I just don't want to tie a new Square Enix ID to my PSN after going through such a hassle to have it removed until I decide what to do about Final Fantasy first
