Is this further evidence that Harry Potter-inspired open world game Hogwarts Legacy is, in fact, still on track for release in 2022? Not really, but after murmurs about the project potentially facing problems behind-the-scenes, it’ll certainly raise hopes: a new tome from Insight Editions named The Art and Making of Hogwarts Legacy is currently pegged for 6th September, 2022.
While this is far from confirmation – and, of course, is always subject to change – it’s perhaps an indication that the title could still be targeting a release this year, as has been reiterated by publisher Warner Bros. The book will be authored Jody Revenson, who’s worked on various other Wizarding World tie-in projects, including Harry Potter Paper Craft.
Hopefully we see more of the game soon, as developer Avalanche did promise updates this year.

They can delay the game just don’t delay the art book!!
I mean… some games get release dates a year ahead and then move them twice anyway, some show first real footage a month and a half away. It’s not impossible and they seem to believe it, I guess.
The one game im looking forward to the most. Hope September turns out to be true.
Gosh, I really, really, really want this game to be great. Such a great universe and it’s such a shame it’s taken so long to make something like this!
Kinda turned off from the series after they booted JKR from the reunion special.
Just wanna say that I loved the layout of this article with the picture by the side. =)
@Uncharted2007 They invited her but she declined
@Cadeni link?
@Uncharted2007 https://ew.com/movies/why-j-k-rowling-didnt-join-harry-potter-reunion-special-return-to-hogwarts/
Sad to think that if this was 10 years ago, me and my partner would be leaping at the chance to play this.
@Cadeni Stating "sources close"... without naming is a way of making up whatever you want and people buy it. The site and author of the linked piece don't hold any water with me. The unfortunate part of today's world is that there's so much disinformation that no one outside of the people the stories are about will know the actual truth.
@Uncharted2007 Imagine bemoaning disinformation while simping for JK Rowling. Embarrassing.
@Uncharted2007 could understand if she refused though, quite a few backstabbers in the cast unfortunately
@nessisonett imagine hating someone you dont know. you seem to only have negative things to say when it comes to this game. If you don't have anything nice to say don't comment. Anyways this game is going to be amazing, and sell like got cakes!
@nessisonett Did she not create the series? Without her, you wouldn't have it... WB wouldn't have it. Universal Studios wouldn't have it. You all bite the hand that gave you those adventures and she's pretty far left as it is. Ridiculous.
I don't simp for people but I'll defend their right to free speech and to remain involved in the works they've created.
@Uncharted2007 you don't need a link. Google will throw up plenty of references. Her team declined the invitation to take part in the reunion and said archive footage was sufficient.
@Uncharted2007 She's a multibillionaire, and will continue to be, and is involved in nearly everything HP related, and collects royalties from all of it. She's fine. And free speech doesn't mean being free from any consequences, or that people can't respond, actively disagree or boycott. Those are all forms of free speech as well.
@Deadhunter Cancel culture is nothing more than Fascism rebranded and I will fight against it.
I don't think there's a game that can hype me more than this one.
@Uncharted2007 It's actually sad that all of these people can't be bothered to actually look up what she said and base their views on actual facts instead of just assuming that whoever they got their information from is telling the truth 100% of the time - https://www.independent.co.uk/arts-entertainment/books/news/harry-potter-jk-rowling-transphobic-terf-b1974984.html
People are only trying to cancel her because it is going against their rhetoric for their political views and is completely ironic because liberal people are supposed to be "progressive" and "acceptive" of "different views", which anyone who actually opens their eyes knows is completely untrue. Maybe everyone should be more receptive of others opinions whether it be Liberal or Conservative and instead of being hostile to one another, actually have a proper debate about issues instead of trying to ruin each others lives over an "OPINION". Guess what guys, you don't need to agree on everything for the world to keep moving and that's okay, let's all try to get along, life is short😊
@Uncharted2007 Try telling that to my partner, who experiences bigotry every single day of their f**king life thanks to people like JK Rowling. Is cancel culture worse than being spat on? Worse than having your human rights eroded? The woman is a billionaire yet chooses to spend her time punching down at a group whose efforts to live freely and openly apparently offend her. That’s the real irony here, people use ‘free speech’ to protect her but she’s the one offended by other human beings existing. She’s utter scum and anybody who buys into the torrent of hate she spews from her lofty tower is the same. There is no middle ground when it comes to hate, no respecting other opinions. If she was a racist or a homophobe it would be no different. It’s just apparently acceptable to go after trans people.
@nessisonett That explains your hate towards her and I expected as much. That said, I'm not going to jump into that debate with you here as it's not the place and I'm honestly quite sick of everything having to be called hate speech when it goes against someone's worldview.
@Uncharted2007 Worldview does not equate to somebody’s very identity. It’s not an opinion to be gay, it’s an opinion to be homophobic. It’s not an opinion to be black, it’s an opinion to be racist towards black people. Hence, it’s an opinion to be transphobic but not the other way round. That’s the last I’ll say.
@Uncharted2007 @Deadhunter
So, one is boycotting the game because of how the author is being treated and the other because he disagrees with something the author said. But, in the real world probably neither boycott will work.. if the game turns out to be good, that is.
@Ken_Kaniff Same here, seriously hoping it can still release in September! I'm a big Harry Potter fan and always will be.
