Marvel’s Avengers is not dead… Well, not yet. Crystal Dynamics has committed a new patch for the PlayStation 5 and PS4 brawler, which is due out on 24th March. This was previously communicated, and will revise the way the War Table works. For those of you unfamiliar with the superhero game, the War Table is what you use to launch missions and tackle quests, but it can be a bit confusing.
The latest update will make changes to the way information is displayed on the War Table: biomes will have recommended Power Levels, missions will no longer rotate every 15 minutes, while Villain Sectors will be accessible without needing to visit Faction terminals. All of this should, in theory, help to improve the flow of the release.
New missions are also being added, but expect the same enemies, locations, and general objectives that you’ve experienced already. You can find the full lowdown on the changes and adjustments through here, but do let us know if you’re still playing Marvel’s Avengers in the comments section. We’re going to assume the number’s low.

Lol forgot about this game's existence 😅
The campaign was slightly fun. The rest was the most repetitive, mindless, boring waste of a license......even the Hawkeye and Black Panther add ons were dull
I mean hey, at least Ms Marvel has the correct powers in this 😂
I haven’t revisited this since dabbling with the Spider Man content, which was quite fun, but I’m glad to hear that the war table is changing. One of the (several) trophies I haven’t earned for this game is primarily due to me having no clue what area I need to revisit. Clarity is always the best route to take when designing these things.
The single player campaign wasn’t that bad, I enjoyed it for what it was. Gotta give ‘em credit for putting so much effort into this game despite all the negative publicity.
Single player campaign was actually pretty good, if they could of just focused on more of that it could of been great!
It's sad we lost Marvel Heroes and got this crap. Even though it was a f2p game it was still fun and had just about every character you wanted.
This game was kinda DOA, but it could have been something good with a little love. The raids are kinda boring and repetitive, the rewards are mediocre and they don't really offer a range of challenges unless you up the difficulty of the game. Reminds me of Diablo III, which I didn't enjoy much. If they COULD resurrect this game, I'd be on it like a shot.
What are they thinking? This is a horrible investment for them. Just let it die.
Does anyone play this anymore? Not being sarcastic, am geniuly curious. Tried the campaign a year ago via game pass, it was good despite the shoehorning of the less wanted elements, couldve been fantastic if they let CD fully focus on it...but yh its all been said before.
The campaign is good. An enjoyable romp. I plan on playing the extra missions they’ve added. If you ignore all the other gunk and just play it like a single player campaign game it’s actually pretty good and well worth the tenner you can now get it for.
Shame most people won’t listen to that .
I lost my progress at some point but get this. The game save all the BP like stuff I did for the heroes, but not my gear, not my online progress, just those things, god.
@Stocksy Have to agree there Booted it up after commenting here and the Single Player is actually pretty good. Still though that said I never would have purchased this had I of known it was going to be a Live Service game.
Need to let the game and end this embarrassment
@RubyCarbuncle i really enjoyed the campaign and i always thought it got way more stick than it deserved..ps5 upgrade was a bit of a mess to upgrade to but it was a decent upgrade for free..
@Legacy2K the only embarrassment is the comments the game illicits from the haters..
i played a bit of the single player campaign, got tired at the money money money crap. maybe just keep your store page on the online side???
@Northern_munkey I strongly agree. Such remarks usually come from people who never even played the full game. Can't say I'm surprised since ignorance and hate go hand in hand.
Live service games: They're either good in six years or dead in six months.
What the hell is with these updates? No one is playing, I stopped because no one else is ever around and the user metrics are so bad I'm shocked they keep putting money into it. Why?
@DeathlySW Cause they don't want to pull an EA and dump it like EA did with Anthem. The negative publicity from they dropping a game people paid a lot money is gonna hurt far more than the publicity at launch.
@Northern_munkey Agreed.
@nessisonett Do people really think ms. marvel and mr fantastics powers are the same?
I just don't understand the change, they work so much more differently.
@Snatcher My guess is that they don’t want to address the complex and interesting racial issues arising from her initially shapeshifting into Captain Marvel. In the comics it specifically ties into her arc of accepting that she herself can be an openly Pakistani-American superhero and doesn’t have to try to fit in. Disney don’t strike me as brave enough to actually tell that story and this switch circumvents that entire origin. Instead of her being part alien due to her Inhuman DNA (another metaphor for feeling out of place in America), just give her magic bracelets and turn her into a less powerful version of Captain Marvel. Brilliant.
@nessisonett Wow, I haven't heard anyone say this yet, and it makes a lot of sense!
@nessisonett I'm still a bit upset about them changing her origins, but hopefully the series still entertaining enough to watch.
@Northern_munkey Actually no, the game was an embarrassment and performed well below expectations. Continue to defend all you like but facts are facts. I’m not even a hater, I wanted the game to be good but all the warning signs were there and glad I saved my money. People like you love to defend poor games and just conclude that anyone with criticism towards it is just a ‘hater’.
@Legacy2K yes you are correct..
I actually got the platinum is this game it was very flawed but I had fun haven't been back since the Black Panther expansion though
@Legacy2K "Actually no, the game was an embarrassment and performed well below expectations. Continue to defend all you like but facts are facts."
Thanks for the laugh, man.
"People like you love to defend poor games and just conclude that anyone with criticism towards it is just a ‘hater’"
The real problem is with people like you who can't comprehend that one man's trash is another man's treasure.
@Legacy2K Avengers actually did better than most people think. Read this
https://www.forbes.com/sites/paultassi/2021/09/15/marvels-avengers-has-sold-better-than-you-think-this-year/amp/
It was the 7th best selling game of the year, then add DLC packs and MTX crossed with a small-ish but dedicated fan base who seem to spend a lot and you’ll see it hasn’t done as badly as many think.
Yes it’s certainly not the rip roaring success it should/could have been but considering Square Enix seem to say everything except Final Fantasy has underperformed then it’s not a bust.
While personally I didn’t like it much at all, and wish it did worse, those are the facts.
@naruball You misunderstand, he just concluded I was a hater, which is typical fanboy defending. It is well accepted the game wasn't good... if you enjoyed it, that's great but overall the game wasn't good at all and a very bad live service game. No one can deny that.
EDIT: Like I said before, I wanted this game to be good.
@themightyant Square Enix themselves said they stood to lose $48 million on the game, during the last investment I heard (a year or two ago I think). That's a signifcant loss, regardless of how well it sold. A Marvel Avengers game should have done a lot better imo
@Legacy2K "if you enjoyed it, that's great but overall the game wasn't good at all"
Again, most people who actually played it (gamers and reviewers) said they enjoyed the campaign and didn't like the online missions. That doesn't make the game overall bad or anything.
@Legacy2K How does that figure compare to the rest of the games they have released? WB also stated they were losing money from every Harry Potter they released, despite their success.
"A Marvel Avengers game should have done a lot better imo"
Look at how bad the Guardians of the Galaxy game did. And it's universally praised. Also, keep in mind that most Spider-man games were not successful. It wasn't until the Spider-man game on ps4 that Insomniac made that it became huge as a video game. A strong IP does not guarantee success either as a movie (The Amazing Spider man 1+2) or a video game (all the video games that were not made by Insomniac).
@Legacy2K I agree it should have done much better but the game was poor imo and sold poorly initially.
But even if that $48 million was accurate it was announced a year and half ago and crucially less than 2 months after release. Square Enix have a habit of calling bad sales very quickly. While it's true the first few weeks full price sales are important, it's less important in a live service game where a long tail is also important.
They've since had several sales where it jumped back up the charts, then had both Game Pass and PS Now deals, all of which brings more players into the fold to make more money on MTX and DLC.
While I don't think that makes it a success, nor what they had hoped for, it likely has made a decent, if unspectacular, profit by now.
