Action RPG Sword and Fairy: Together Forever has received a new character-based trailer ahead of its fast approaching 4th August release date on PS5 and PS4. For those who may not know, the Sword and Fairy series is based around Chinese mythology, so the cast and their designs have ties to various old stories.
"Between the clans of humans, deities and demons on the brink of war, heroism and villainy are often a matter of perspective rather than black-and-white morality. Not every hero is selfless, and not every villain is purely evil. It’s up to young deity Xiu Wu, human swordswoman Yue Qingshu and their newfound allies to fight for what they believe and find a way to prevent open war between the realms, to protect peace and shape the world’s future for the greater good despite their differences," reads the official press release.
Sword and Fairy: Together Forever was fairly well received when it launched on PC last year, and it has looked quite intriguing in the PlayStation trailers that we've seen over the last few months. Are you looking forward to this one? Bring your own deity to the comments section below.

If this turns out to be solid when it comes out in a couple of weeks, I'll likely give it a shot. It comes out at a good time if so, as it will be out well before the onslaught of games begins.
It's not something I'll pre-order, but I'll definitely keep an eye on it.
@KilloWertz I imagine it will be a passably good game, like most of the Sword and Fairy games, but with bad optimisation. Asian players, as a whole, seemingly just don't care about solid frame-rates, pop-in or jank the way western gamers seem to.
Looking forward to this one.
@themightyant Granted I've only played a handful in comparison to most people even though I enjoy a good JRPG (not sure why I stopped playing them for a long time), but the worst pop-in I've experienced in a while was Scarlet Nexus. I still highly enjoyed the game, but the pop-in was pretty bad. I guess my point is I can survive bad pop-in as long as the game is highly enjoyable.
Obviously I'd prefer it to be optimized like it should be, but like I said before, this comes out at a good time to squeeze it in if it turns out to be solid.
@KilloWertz Same. I'd prefer games to b much more technically sound but can easily live with bad frame-rates or pop-in etc. IF the game is good enough and it doesn't ruin the experience. It does vary game to game and genre to genre though. Typically a bad frame rate or pop-in isn't going to ruin an experience in an RPG unlike in a twitch shooter or racing game. I remember GTAV having vehicles pop-in sometimes after you had hit them... yet we managed.
