After a slow start, the PSVR2 launch lineup is getting a little bit ridiculous. And Truant Pixel is lobbing another title into the mix: according to one of the developers on ResetEra, sequel 2MD: VR Football Unleashed All-Star will be ready in time for release, on 22nd February. We were big fans of the original arcade-esque two-minute drill title from the team, and this sounds massively expanded.
For example, in the follow-up you’ll be able to both lob the ball from the quarterback position, and catch it as a wide receiver. It’ll also expand beyond two-minute drills, as you’ll be able to play 20 minute, 40 minute, or 60 minute matches. Other improvements include dynamic weather and a total of over 60 stadiums, which is impressive.

This series may not be much to look at, but the gameplay is top-notch – the original really nailed the feeling of airing out a football. Unfortunately, there’ll be no free upgrade from the original PSVR version of 2MD, but existing owners will be eligible for a 70 per cent discount, which sounds fair to us considering this is a massively expanded sequel rather than an upgraded re-release.

Absolutely loved the original version of this.
A football flying towards my face would probably result in me falling over. My brain almost exploded just going through those vines in the original Astro Bot experience in The Playroom VR!
Some of these quest ports are not the best advertisement for PSVR2. To the degree that Sony perhaps should have delayed their release (irrespective of how fun the game may or may not be).
@thefourfoldroot1 it’s up to the devs to make games that take advantage of the more powerful hardware and advantages of the PSVR2. Truant Pixel is a 3 person dev team. What they have done with this and their other title Runner is flat out amazing. A game like this, the mechanics matter first and foremost, and this dev nails it.
@thefourfoldroot1 I'd rather have a broad spectrum of games personally.

Sure, of course. Personally, I would too. I’m just thinking of this being one of the first things a prospective PSVR2 purchaser might see as a non game site viewer…and think this is what VR games generally are.
If I was Sony, I would want to front load the release schedule with quality looking games to showcase what the equipment could actually provide. Horizon, Resi, Switchblade quality type stuff.
Show many of my mates a game that honestly looks like a 3D C64 game and they’ll be forever off the idea.
This will be incredible on PSVR2!
