Sony has confirmed a full list of 37 games coming to PSVR2 starting from its launch date on the 22nd February. The "release window" lineup has something for just about everyone, and it should help solidify the platform's place right out of the gate.
We've known about most of these titles for a while now — Sony had previously stated that over 30 games would be available around launch — but there are some fresh faces in the mix, as well as a handful of upgrades to software from the original PSVR.
Here's the full list, as posted by PlayStation:
- After the Fall (Vertigo Games)
- Altair Breaker (Thirdverse)
- Before Your Eyes (Skybound Interactive, launch window)
- Cities VR (Fast Travel Games)
- Cosmonious High (Owlchemy)
- Creed Rise to Glory: Championship Edition (Survios, launch window)

- Zenith: The Last City (Ramen VR, free upgrade)
It's quite the robust lineup on paper, isn't it?
And to be clear, Sony says the "release window" lineup runs through March 2023, so all of these games are expected in and around the first month of PSVR2's launch.

Wow, impressive! This is the show-off I was hoping for.
Happy to see Tetris Effect back as a launch title. Also interested in The Last Clockwinder (as long as I don't have to be a robot counting apples). What the Bat! looks like fun too.
So they want us to buy a console that can only play a very limited number of games in the grand scheme of things, a VR headset that costs just as much that can only play an even more limited number of games in the grand scheme of things and they will want us to buy games as well?
Why can't we hook up that thing to a PC?
Decent launch lineup but surely this could have been revealed at a VR focussed state of play where these titles could have had more exposure instead of just doing random Blog posts . Weird marketing imo.
@InternetUser
I know your post is bait but why would Sony release a VR headset that probably just about breaks even to then sell it on an ecosystem they wont make any money on?
You do realise regardless, if you want to use PSVR 2 on PC along with having lots of choices for headsets already on PC, someone will reverse engineer it anyway and create software that makes it compatible.
@Victor_Meldrew It is an impressively LONG list, but if not much takes your fancy then it's a lot to spend on just a handful of confirmed titles. Lets not forget this costs more than the PS5.
For me Horizon Call of the Mountain & Moss 2 are the NEW games I am immediately interested in, but not enough to outlay £530 + games + probably a controller dock so £650+ in reality.
That said I am possibly interested in re-playing No Man's Sky, GT7, Tetris Effect & Thumper but it needs a little more new games to convince me to pony up that sort of cash.
Plus I remember how poorly Sony supported PS Vita & PS VR1. Will wait for reviews and to see how well supported it is post launch.
@solocapers Actually that's not true. The original didn't work well on PC and the creator of that driver just recently said that PSVR2 will be even worse. Might take years just to get a working picture.
if People had to choose between a mid range OLED headset like the PSVR2 for 500 and 1k+ for the real high end stuff they would have definitely bought the former. Missed opportunity.
@InternetUser
There are other headsets for PC. This is a massively subsidised headset to encourage people to buy a PS5 and give Sony their 30% cut of digital software sales.
If Sony released it for PC it would be twice the price. Probably more as it would eat in to the aforementioned market.
Already have Horizon, Switchback, NMS, Pistol Whip, GT7, and waiting to buy Kayak Mirage, Moss 1&2, and might even pay to upgrade others, like Creed. All in all a much better launch line up than any console I can remember. Even if not a single game is ever launched for the thing again I already have my money’s worth.
@InternetUser mid range? what determines that it is midrange?
@thefourfoldroot1 twice the price would be wireless headset. This headset is not worth double price.
I feel a lot of people are missing out or not buying in because they don't see huge franchises they know from the console space. While there are a few in between, VR is an entirely different ecosystem in itself with its own "huge IPs". However, I think for it to gain more traction, it needs more of that. And Sony is doing a decent job with it so far by bringing GT7, a Horizon spin-off and RE8 to the headset. Still, this will most likely not be the norm going forward.
@thefourfoldroot1 Maybe they can simply port games over to PC. It's not like they will lose money.
@REALAIS resolution and AR capabilities
That is HUGE woah
Impressive list, although I’d like to see more of my PSVR games make the move to PSVR2. Love VR, and 30+ games at launch is very impressive! PS5 is worth the money, and PSVR2 is a no brainer addition!
@REALAIS
Maybe not quite double true, but near enough. And thank god they didn’t go wireless! We have enough standalone headsets with piss poor performance and a 2hr battery run time.
If you ignore the bc systems this is probably the biggest launch line up ever, right?
I’ll be waiting another year or so until more attractive bundles drop or Astrobot- which ever is sooner.
@InternetUser
They’ll lose money if enough PCVR enthusiasts would have bought a PS5 who wouldn’t otherwise. Plus they have no store, so no 30% cut of games when sold on Steam /Epic. They’ll only get money on games they publish In that case.
@thefourfoldroot1 Who would buy a console and headset specifically made for that console and games specifically made for that headset if they already have a PC? The biggest attraction of console gaming is the cheap price and that goes out the window when it comes to VR.
Sony would have made more money if this headset was compatible with PC.
some good games, but not enough top quality ones to get enough Casuals to buy it.
probably around 5-6% adoption rate of ps5 owners. similar to vr1.
needs some big companies jumping in, or its just going to plod along and miss how good it actually could be
@InternetUser
How can you say mediocre if best VR for resolution costs 2x-3x more? I couldnt say that for this price it is mediocre.
@InternetUser
Someone who thinks spending 1k on a PS5 with its exclusives and PSVR2 with its exclusives, would give them more value than just buying a PCVR headset for a bit less money? (“A bit” is assuming they wouldn’t also need to upgrade their PC too of course).
@REALAIS Mid range doesn't mean mediocre. It means mid range.
@thefourfoldroot1 WIth a PC you get access to infinite amount of content. And you get user created content. And on PC you can run things better. And on PC you don't have to buy anything twice.
If you have a good PC buying anything else is pointless.
@InternetUser
I’m not debating PC vs console. You asked why someone would get a console and VR rather than PCVR if they already have an PC, and that leads inevitably to the topic of Sony console / VR exclusives. Not saying PC doesn’t have exclusives too, but if your scenario was someone who already had a PC then they already have access to those exclusives, obviously. If your scenario was someone who didn’t have a PC my answer would have been a bit different.
Lets go!
This is the most exciting times for me in VR land in some time. I really do want F1 support.
I’m shocked Hitman 3 hasn’t been announced. Sony was a huge part in that coming to VR, so if it doesn’t come, that will a big mistake from Sony. It should have been thought of from the start, a PSVR version.
Really good list, looking forward to Tetris (only played on console) and thumper again.
I think the only thing now I'd like to see confirmed is Blood and Truth and Astro Bot. Never got around to trying them on VR1, so would be very welcome
This is also missing Swordsman VR. Man, not even Sony can get a complete list.
So Beat Saber will come at a later date?
Hugely recommend Song in the Smoke (Rekindled). As a free upgrade it’s great as they’ve added not just improved graphics, but the ability to freely jump! Sounds a small thing, but will add a lot to immersion.
i'm not a vr guy, but if sony expects people to pay a fee to re-gain access to vr games they already purchased, that is a BIG problem. i don't care if there was some work involved, those vr games are too recent to justifiy a double dip requirement for those who already purchased not too long ago. suck it up sony and subsidize the upgrade path for people if you want this thing to do well. you already have an uphill battle with the vr space as it is, due to a generally lackluster software library and high cost to entry.
Where the hell is alyx!!?? Cmon valve & Sony sort it out!!!
Pretty impressive lineup, seems to be way more then what the original PSVR released with.
Brilliant lineup for me, can't wait to try GT7 with my wheel and seat set up in VR! And never got around to Resident evil Village so that should be a great experience.
Got hello neighbour for my boys as they love the series(is that even on the list? ).
Personally think it's a great launch, and for the specs and features it has it's very well priced.
@InternetUser there's a reason why similar specced headsets sell for 000's more. To make profit.
Maybe.. just maybe Sony could sell a PC version and charge appropriately. Otherwise it's a pointless moan.
I didn't know thumper is getting an update. Is that paid, free, or no upgrade? That's a big win.
For other rhythm games, I don't think I have any, anyone know if Touch the Beat or Synth Riders is the better route (or wait for Beat Saber?)
@Toypop I REAAAALLLY want a Skyrim VR patch, but since Bethesda is Xbox now that seems pretty unlikely, though not absolutely impossible. Mostly I think Betehsda just stopped experimenting with VR in general even on PC though.
@Porco I'm the first to criticize Sony and their pricing, but I don't think the VR game pricing is Sony's doing this time. Moss has no upgrade path, Tetris and Rez has a paid upgrade, NMS has a free upgrade, all that seems like the indie devs' own doing. Sony's only games here are HCotM which is totally new, and GT7 which is a free upgrade. SO FAR Sony seems to be making nice with their own products and leaving 3rd parties to do as they wish. We'll see what they do with the inevitable Astrobot upgrade and Stardust (Housemarque) later on though....
@thefourfoldroot1 People have an obsession with wireless for some reason. I mean I get why, the cable can be a pain, but one wire seems like much less of a pain than all the problems and limitations of wireless that are just the nature of radio transmission, batteries, and everything else.
@KaijuKaiser They're weird these days. They haven't done showcase announcements for ANYTHING, 2D, or VR. I think they're still busy trying to pretend they're a small business with no budget so governments favor them over MS.
@NEStalgia
Sure, it’s great to be wireless, until system performance is downgraded in order to drag out a couple of hours of battery life. Then you have to deal with replacement batteries to play for a decent amount of time, as well as poor performance. Plus the added weight, heat, etc. it’s just not worth it to avoid a thin light wire. Worst case scenario I’d just attach any cable to the ceiling so it was always above me and never touched me (I thought of doing this on PSVR1, but never did, and certainly not needed on PSVR2).
@ShogunRock Are there any PSVR2 upgrade path for Thumper?
Shame Beat Saber isn't day one but will take the launch titles they look great
Ace Combat was a mind blowing experience on PSVR. Really hard to Stomach though. Would break out in hot sweats because of the intensity of the manoeuvres.
Ancient Dungeon is amazing on Quest 2. Would love to see that on PSVR2.
@thefourfoldroot1 Yeah, not that the cable can't go bad and ruin the unit depending on its makeup, but the problems with batteries in general, and the weight make anything wireless trouble. But even if it werent, just the issues with video over radio and the inherent compression artifacts. I know other headsets do it, and can do it fairly well, but even those headsets go to wired mode for the "serious" games for a reason. I had a Gear VR at one point, and the wirelessness was cool, but even with the hassle my PSVR1 got much more use than it for many reasons.
@KaijuKaiser I ordered the Horizon bundle, I already own GT7, and I preordered Moss 1 & 2 bundle (10% off with Plus right now.)
I may upgrade Tetris. I'll get a rhythm game whether it's upgrading Thumper or getting Touch the Beat or Synth I haven't decided.
Tale of Onogoro is interesting too and I might have to get that.
I'm not sure about No Man's Sky. I own it on XB but never really got into it, so I'm not sure if I want to re-buy it for PS just to try it in VR. But I know NMS PC-VR hardcore addicts, so it's got to be an experience...
@theGoodChap @NEStalgia all fair points. i did not realize that sony was offering a free upograde path with gt7. still, it would have been a nice gesture had sony worked out a deal with 3rd parties to offer a free upgrade path to psvr2 hardware. i'm not a believer of vr and don't have an emotional stake in the tech, but gamers are already price gouged enough as it is and i would do all i can to support the relatively small userbase of psvr (under 5m users). psvr2, with its price tag and our higher cost of living, may hold an even smaller userbase when all is said and done. sony really does need to do more for this tech to take off as there are numerous factors working against it.
Damn, Bryan at PSVR without Parole's head is going to explode trying to sample all of these on day 1.
@NEStalgia
Myles at PSVR Without Parole got a hands on and said the cable is detachable this time, confirmed by others. Although you will have to remove the padding and dismantle the headset a bit, it’s much better than having to replace the whole thing if the worst happens. Not sure about Sony providing replacement cables easily though. I’m sure aftermarket ones will be made in due time if needed.
The only annoyance in the design for me is that there is no insert for prescription lenses or, even better, a simple diopter adjustment apparatus 😡
Preordered, although my biggest concern is if I'm playing it and swinging arms everywhere and 4 year old walks in and "whack!!" Anyone that has experienced VR before, what is your best protection against young children in the house?
@Victor_Meldrew
The N64 back in 1996 launched with just two games and nobody complained back then but 37 suddenly isn't enough hah.
@InternetUser PC compatibility might be a missed opportunity for you, but surely not for Sony lol.
You're probably trolling at this point, but I'll entertain you. Let's do some quick math: it's pretty safe to assume that Sony are losing money on each headset sold. Just look at the prices of comparable PC VR devices. Also, this is common practice with hardware launches in the console space, as the manufacturers make their money back through game sales and subscriptions.
Now, why the heck would Sony dump a bunch of money into developing PC support? Which, frankly, is a gargantuan task compared to supporting a closed ecosystem like the PS5. To lose some more money in each headset sold? Where is the incentive, as they would make zero dollars from PC games sales and subscriptions?
@Art_Vandelay What makes you think that they are losing money with the headset? Wired, not standalone, no audio, no AR.
Chances are they are making money with each sale.
@Digit2021 some games are very active, that's Def something to be wary of in a busy house. I've personally knocked out a light bulb and punched a wall in the past (the wall was fine fortunately).
Might look at building a cage, and this will be my play space. That way avoid accidently hitting my child or knockout out walls and lights.
@thefourfoldroot1 Sounds less detachable, more replaceable, though I doubt real parts will be available if that level disassembly is required, it would have to be after market. Hopefully it's popular enough to warrant third party parts.
Yeah I'm kind of surprised diopter adjustment isn't just plain old standard. It just makes sense and hinders adoption a bit.
@InternetUser Did you even read my message? Anyway, I'll repeat myself.
It's par for the course to have a zero margin or lose some money on new hardware when it comes to the console space. Again, these devices are a means to an end. This fact is widely known. In fact, Quest 2 and Pico 4 themselves are known to be heavily subsidized, but for slightly different reasons as Meta and ByteDance are in a different position, trying to build a new ecosystem.
Now, the price comparison is the smoking gun, here. You say "wired, not standalone, no audio, no AR". Well, what headset is wireless, standalone and has built-in audio plus acceptable AR? The Quest Pro, which costs $1.500.
Now, the Quest 2 doesn't have an OLED panel nor eye-tracking, which are known to be very expensive components. And costs $400. Sure, it has onboard processing and wi-fi but again, heavily subsidized.
@InternetUser The original PSVR didn't work that great on the PC for many because the requirement for external cameras due to the light tracking system. You could get it working pretty decently, I had five PS3 Eye Toys (very cheap at GameStop) and a Kinect that tracked my PSVR on PC, but at the end of the day it wasn't worth the effort when you could more easily just get an Oculus Rift and not have to deal with the poor tracking that the light based system provided (even in ideal situations).
I don't think the PSVR2 will suffer the same fate, since it has a more industry standard inside-out tracking system now, and it might turn out to be a great PC VR headset. Fingers Crossed.
@Art_Vandelay Quest Pro costs as much because companies will buy it in mass numbers. It's not reasonably priced. I am sure that Sony are making a profit from each PSVR2 sold.
@thedevilsjester sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but the creator of the PC driver for the PSVR just recently explained on reddit why PSVR2 will not be usable on PC for years.
@InternetUser Someones opinion and speculation (and its almost all speculation) about the future state of a device that no one has yet, isn't an absolute truth; though it is always good to be realistic and you shouldn't order a PSVR2 based on the hopes of a future, unknown feature.
Either way though, at the end of the day, I don't care that much. It would be nice if the two converged; but without integrated audio and wireless; I doubt a PSVR2 would replace my PCVR anyway; I am happy to have them co-exist.
@InternetUser Well, considering the only evidence you provided is that "you're sure", I guess you must be right.
@Art_Vandelay It means just as much as your opinion
And how many more are in development?
@InternetUser There are good and bad opinions, and they're usually separated by the amount and quality of the arguments.
Anyway, time will be the judge of that. You can wish as much as you want, but official PC support for PSVR2 is not coming.
@InternetUser
Quote "So they want us to buy a console that can only play a very limited number of games in the grand scheme of things, a VR headset that costs just as much that can only play an even more limited number of games in the grand scheme of things and they will want us to buy games as well?"
I don't think Sony wants YOU to buy anything at all. Just go get a PC headset and go for a walk long calming walk.
@InternetUser By the way, good read:
https://uploadvr.com/why-psvr2-wont-work-on-pc/
@Art_Vandelay They will still be making more money by making the headset usable on PC
