Embedded above is the first episode of The Last of Us in full. Yes, HBO and Sky have uploaded the entire inaugural episode of the highly regarded TV adaptation on YouTube, and you can watch it right now for free.
The show, which is currently just two episodes deep, has been a big success so far. The critical reception has been glowing, and fans are pleased with how faithful a recreation of the game it's turning out to be. It marked the biggest debut for a new show in years, and has seen a record growth in audience from episode one to two.
Of course, not everyone has HBO Max or Now TV, and so haven't been able to join the conversation. Now, though, everyone can at least watch the first ep in full for free, through official channels.

That's a very smart and confident move, one that more shows should do.
I'm kinda surprised HBO didn't wait until Mandalorian season 3 started, for them to put the first episode for out for free. Like they did with House of the Dragon when LOTR came out.
Don't seem to be available in u.s.
@Americansamurai1 seconded. Not available in the US
I actually hate this. I was going to wait until the Friday before the finale, cash in the free 7 day trial & binge the entire season.
The temptation…
Not available in the US & Canada? Odd choice
Still waiting on the physical version hopefully in 4K. With how successful the the first two episodes have been and the rest of the episodes should continue to be, it'll be a shocker if there's no physical release later this year. On a 1080 Bluray at the very least
Not available in The Netherlands..😒
@Trousersnake @Cherip-the-Ripper @Americansamurai1 probably only countries that have Sky as they show HBO stuff.
@LN78 Always a bit nervous about physical releases these days as some content ain't always guaranteed a 4K release, especially when it's content I really want. As you say If going by their previous releases this one seems to have a more better chance of a 4K release compared to others. Fingers crossed
Damn that's almost a whole freaking movie. Episode 1 was stellar
@Fight_Teza_Fight
Lol or don't be cheap and support shows like this?
Nope I'll just stick to the game thanks.
This is the first time ever, I see a message on YouTube: not available in my country?!
@BoldAndBrash It’s not about being too cheap. I just don’t like having too many subscriptions.
Also apart from TLOU there’s nothing I’d watch on Sky Atlantic & Now TV.
I have NOW and watch every Monday evening, lovely stuff. It's a good bit of marketing though, considering it had the biggest ever jump ep 1 to 2 in ratings for HBO.
A lot of people used to have Sky packages in the UK and if you didn't you missed out on some big shows, so NOW is a good compromise in that regard. Soon there will be no more Sky packages and NOW will get more competitive with other streaming, but for now it is kind of just a way to have SKY without a contract. That said, my current deal is £3.99 pm after I had it for £2.99pm and went through the cancellation process before it increased to £9.99. I don't think I've ever paid full price for any of their NOW TV packages and I've had a lot of them for many years intermittently
@BoldAndBrash
It's not "cheap" to not want to subscribe to an ever growing number of subscription services at the same time, it's just good sense.
I mean these platforms' main selling point is it's basically "all you can eat TV", but you wouldn't go to 5 all you can eat restaurants in a row for lunch, it'd just be a complete waste of money. Same principle here - your time is inherently limited, the more streaming services you're subscribed to, the less you're using each particular one, on average
Already watched it free
Already watching it for "free" on TV, since my mom pays for our HBO Max subscription.
