Sony's big new marketing push for PS5 really is a global affair. The latest in a string of 'Live from PS5' installations can be found on the slopes of a Polish ski resort.
A life-size model of a fearsome Clawstrider — one of the robo-dinos featured in Horizon Forbidden West — can now be seen on the ski slopes in Białka Tatrzańska, a village in southern Poland:
That ought to give local skiers a fright as they descend the mountainside.
In the last few days, other Live from PS5 publicity stunts have been popping up in various locations. God of War Ragnarok's Leviathan Axe appeared in London, while a building-sized PS5 console was seemingly erected in Dubai. Sony's clearly splashing some cash on this initiative, and we're fine with it; these things are pretty cool to see.
We can only assume more of these will be cropping up over the next few days, so keep your eyes peeled in your local area.

Awesome!! Can I have it when they are done? Would look absolutely amazing in my back garden!!!
Pllleeeeaaassseee!!!!!
I do find Sonys marketing incredible. They do relatively bespoke things like this, which is admittedly very cool, but hardly any general marketing and terrible relationship with the press it seems, and with getting messages out to customers via the press.
The biggest publicity stunt would be if they actually did a showcase.
i guess we can count this year with this marketing as a re launch of the ps5 with stock being almost fixed.
What’s with all this big ps5 marketing out of the blue is Sony about to have a showcase soon or something?
@thefourfoldroot1 Sony's great with the press. Well, they are with us anyway. Despite the size of the company, I find them more helpful than virtually any other publisher.
@4kgk2 They're promoting the fact the console is now readily in stock for the first time since launch.
@4kgk2 I imagine it is to coincide with the console actually being widely available to buy for the first time ever
Do you guys think something's going on? Apart from overall PS5 availability?
Maybe I'm just overthinking it, but might be either some teasing or I don't know...
If they are going to do all the games from their news video then I hope they do something for the Uncharted one. lol. That would be quite a tease!
Always hated fighting those things...
The up close picture of the mouth really nails home how deadly that thing would be if real. All those metal "teeth" would shred your flesh in seconds.
I was really disappointed in this mount when I could finally ride it and went back to the good old Strider. A shame because it looks great.
@get2sammyb
That’s good to know. I’ve heard other things elsewhere. Plus it’s clear that they aren’t as open on hardware, at least with third parties.
Eurogamer are up MSs backside as they received high level access to the Series consoles for example, yet they can’t even get a PSVR2 from Sony.
What's next:
Sly Cooper's cane found in Paris?
Spider-Man's webs found in New York?
Jin's Katana found in Japan?
I’d like to think that Sony keeps all this PlayStation prop in a massive warehouse somewhere.
Then when the apocalypse does happen (probably sooner rather than later given current world events) you’ll get some scavengers exploring & thinking ‘boy they sure had it carefree😂😂😂’.
It probably all gets disassembled & recycled straight after use, but I can dream.
Fair play this is some incredible marketing
i saw the advert this morning, interesting way to advertise a console
What does the button input code at the bottom of the statue do?
Really neat marketing from Sony recently. I just hope they give us a PlayStation Showcase or State of Play soon. Nintendo fans are constantly screaming they need a Nintendo Direct but PlayStation fans need a show more than them when they have Nintendo releasing a new game nearly every month for the first half of the year. We don't know when Stellar Blade is coming out, haven't seen proper gameplay for Spider-Man 2, have a release date for Eternights or know many first party titles now the big hitters like GOW Ragnarok released. Now is the best time for one
Am I the only one that thinks it's disturbing that the maker of the Aibo robot dog is now actually making.....these.....?
@KaijuKaiser IDK, the internet never talks about it much. The first one got overshadowed by dropping the same month as BotW, and the second was overshadowed by dropping the same month as Elden Ring which is probably a lot of why the internet momentum got clipped short, but you're right there's tons less hype in the Sonyverse than for TLOU and GoW, I'm assuming 100% down to it being an ACTUAL video game, and not being a playable movie with as much mass appeal and viral pop culture phenomenon effect. For Sony's part though they're doing as much with the brand as they are for TLOU (TV, multiplayer spinoff, etc) and are using this brand as the hardware showcase for PSVR2, so they're certainly not underpromoting it (unlike poor Gravity Rush )
@Browny It's literally a multi-chainsaw comfortingly built into a mouth... Kind of amazing this series is rated for teens when you think about it.
@get2sammyb "Readily in stock"
In Europe, maybe. Still touch and go in the US. Better than it was but far from "normal" inventory still and varies by retailer.
@NEStalgia Well, it's the same in Europe, too. But Sony's official line is that it'll be easier to find everywhere moving forwards.
Oh man, can I have one please!!!
It looks awesome
@Sam_ATLUS 100% agreed about us needing a showcase. Fingers crossed all of this real live marketing is a leadup to such an event.
It probably would be a lot cheaper just to have a simple playstation games showcase to promote ps5 lol. But I appreciate the artistic effort and creativity.
yes, an ax in London, a PS5 in Dubai and now a Clawstrider in Poland. I hope they don't skip the Netherlands
