Marvel's Wolverine PS5 Rumour

We're yet to actually see anything of Marvel's Wolverine outside of that one tiny announcement teaser, but you can already feel the hype. This is, after all, going to be a PS5 exclusive from Insomniac Games — the Sony studio that's already given us Marvel's Spider-Man and Miles Morales, and is currently working on Marvel's Spider-Man 2, which is due out later this year.

The potential for a proper Wolverine game is obviously massive, and now we've got Giant Bomb's Jeff Grubb dropping some early details. The prevalent insider reckons that Marvel's Wolverine will be blessed with a Mature age rating, which should allow for things like graphic violence and other adult themes. This is something that many licensed games miss out on, instead targeting Teen or Everyone ratings to maximise appeal across all demographics.

Grubb also says that Insomniac is aiming for an Autumn / Fall release window in 2024, which would put Wolverine one year out from Spider-Man 2. However, he does note that things could slip into 2025. In other words, it's too early to say for sure.

And last but not least, Wolverine will supposedly feature semi-open environments, not too dissimilar from how God of War Ragnarok is designed. It doesn't sound like it'll be fully open world, like what you'll find in the aforementioned Spider-Man titles.
