CD Projekt Red has confirmed that Phantom Liberty, the big expansion for Cyberpunk 2077, will be returning to the stage this summer — in June, to be more specific. We've heard next to nothing about the DLC since its reveal all the way back in September 2022, so we assume this'll be a pretty substantial blowout... probably alongside a release date. Just to reiterate, Phantom Liberty is still down for a 2023 launch.
It's also possible that this info drop will be part of this year's Summer Game Fest, or some other showcase in June. We'll have to wait and see.
Now then, let's just hope and pray that Phantom Liberty doesn't actually release in June. With Street Fighter 6, Diablo 4, and Final Fantasy XVI all launching within weeks of one another, another major release in that timeframe would be total overkill. In any case, the summer months are shaping up to be extremely busy.

Fool me once CDPR. Hard pass
3yrs to get DLC....
@KundaliniRising333 wow, that came fast, I'm impressed! 😂
@stvevan It's like you want them to rush it out the door so you can go and complain more.
Heck yeah I'm very excited for this!
Just waiting for this and another 2 years of updates, then I can finally play Cyberpunk! 😉
Really though I’ve started twice and dropped off each time because they announce another big update a week or so after I start playing. Really enjoyed what I’ve played so far, but at this point I’m waiting for the “final,” final product.
@Nepp67 no, i wanted an unbroken game on release then DLC would have released in a good time frame.
pretty much like the rest of the industry manages.
This announcement of when the next announcement will be made is ridiculous. CDPR, please tell us now the details about the DLC or shut up!

Finally!! I can’t wait to get back into it. I hope the DLC is as great as The Witcher 3’s fleshed out expansions
@ShogunRok any idea if there is a new game + option planned to go with this DLC (or another update)?
@KKciN We don't know yet, unfortunately. CDPR has mentioned New Game + before but hasn't really hinted at when it might be added. I know with The Witcher 3 it was one of the later updates.
There is a big Cyberpunk update planned for either before the expansion or alongside it. An official CDPR interview a while back said it would include overhauls for the police system, car combat, melee combat, and adjustments to cyberware.
So whenever this update releases, it's probably going to be big for the game as a whole. There was no mention of New Game + in that interview, but I'd be surprised if it doesn't happen later.
@ShogunRok cheers for the additional info! Think it would be a really good additional feature for making the most of all the cyberware and hacking options
Looking forward to this, I play it on PC these days so have the RT overdrive mode to look forward to next month as well
@KKciN yeah I missed a lot of it on my first run, I changed my build so I couldn't hack but can slow down time to slice people to pieces. This time I'm looking to bounce bullets off walls Robocop style
Sigh. Would have been up for this, but I deleted the save before the point of no return. The game saved so often I only kept a handful of them at a time. I just assumed that, when I finished the campaign, it would spawn me back at the point of no return and create a new save. Nope.
Really looking fwd to this!! After reading the reviews and people's disgust with it's state on release I gave it a pass.. Relented and bought it cheap & 2nd hand late last year for my PS5, was pleasantly surprised by its story and depth and so glad I got it!! 2 full playthroughs now & I LOVE THIS GAME!! bring on Phantom Liberty, you got there in the end CDPR. 🙂
@Jok-Havok yes i agree the game is damn cool now and runs really well on the ps5..some people will just hate on this game forever...yawn!
I have not played since my first edge runner build playthrough. I'll be happy to do another play at some point. A lot of side quests bugged out or triggered half way though for me, playing first month PC. But I'll wait for reviews before I look at the DLC.
June isn't too long of a wait for more info. I guess this means a Fall 2023 release window?
