Update: Hasbro has sent us a statement to clarify that any reference to the “multiverse” in its product description for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2’s Miles Morales figurine was included in error. A spokesperson told us: “The original product info inadvertently referenced the upcoming Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse film and was not meant to include any reference to the film or multiverse.”

Original Article: Here’s a first look at some Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 branded merchandise, following yesterday’s leaked release window. Venom actor Tony Todd evidently got into trouble for appearing to confirm the anticipated PS5 exclusive will launch in September, and now Hasbro has announced the latest in its Marvel Legends line, showcasing Miles Morales in his Insomniac threads.

The figure itself is six inches tall, and describes Morales as the “newest Spider-Man”. The product description makes mentions of the “multiverse”, but we think this is referencing the character at large, and not necessarily alluding to any Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 storyline secrets. The toy does at least come with some interchangeable accessories, including Venom Powered electrified fists.

We don’t exactly know how Miles Morales will feature in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, but it’s probably safe to assume you’ll be playing as both him and Peter Parker – and there’s definitely the potential for some kind of co-op modes here as well. Assuming the title is on track for a September release, then we shouldn’t have to wait too much longer for the full details. Then again, this is PlayStation we’re talking about – the company’s not exactly forthcoming these days, is it?

Nevertheless, the toy is due out in Spring 2023, and will retail for just $24.99.
