Those mad lads at Capcom only went and did it: Dragon's Dogma 2 appeared at the PlayStation Showcase with an actual gameplay trailer — and boy does it look good. The consensus online seemed to be that the action RPG sequel would be a while off — especially after that anniversary event — but no, it's clearly quite far along. It's also been confirmed for PS5, of course.

I think it looks incredibly underwhelming personally
I just wanted more of the same and it seems thats exactly what we're getting so great! There really isn't a lot out there quite like the 1st game
This, and FFXVI were only 2 interesting games from whole showcase.
@djlard not Spider-Man? AC Mirage?
The best thing shown. I simply can't wait.
Was a nice surprise, I accept the janky edges because that's dragons dogma. If it hadn't have been for this, phantom blade, and couple other 3rd party games this show would been a complete dud.
I wanted to like the original, but everything felt so stiff and bland. This is looking good so far.
I jumped on the sofa at the Capcom logo
Shades of Seeker and Alchemist from DDO in the trailer, and looks like it's set in Gransys - either in the future or past. Bridges built to Gran Soren, and the Bluemoon Tower looks intact. Can't bloody wait; I hope we get answers regarding the cycle's beginning or end!
@Feena As soon as the French script came up, with a monster (mounted?) heading towards what might be Cassardis appeared, and the logo appeared... oh my word! And the music. That's Gransys music alright
@theMEGAniggle Personally Spider-Man is most overrated Marvel character and I don't like him. And that gameplay looked like inFamous in different graphics.
AC Mirage... after devastation of AC series by Origins, Odyssey and Valhalla I'm very skeptical about any new Assassin and I'll very carefully get excited, because I don't trust Ubi anymore they keep promise to Mirage be true Assassin's Creed again.
I was really hyped for DD2 but i wasn't feeling it here to be honest, maybe its the RE engine taking away the charm or the fact it looked a tad MH like i just wasn't that fussed. Annoying as i adore the first game.
@djlard Dude, you're just trolling every article with negative comments. We get it, you don't like anything.
@djlard hahahaha what
Each to their own, I can understand if you don't like Spider-Man but thought that gameplay looked great. Have you played the games because they're definitely not anything like inFamous
I just thought you were an AC fan going by your DP. Yeah I thought that mirage gameplay looked slightly basic. It's like they just threw a coat of paint over black flag. So I'm not very optimistic it'll be a good experience especially after the RPG trilogy
@djlard Devastation? I mean maybe you should have supported Syndicate and Unity more then as the underwhelming sales led Ubi to change course what going by sales and reviews for Origins, Odyssey and Valhalla was a good move. Honestly i find it funny how people forget that Ubi were always changing up AC every few entries.
I know it's not gonna happen but I really want the devs to make a similar ost for the main menu like the original Dangan song
@Kanji-Tatsumi To each his own, I guess. Personally, I'm more excited for this than everything else that was shown, including Spiderman 2.
Dragon Dogma 2 is a day 1 purchase
@Sil_Am I'm not trolling. I'm not responsible for fact that 80% of showcase was forgetable, Spider-Man is soooo similar to inFamous and I'm very very very affraid Ubi ruins another AC even if trailer looks supercool.
I'm not wearing pink glasses like lots of others do. I'm realist.
Dragon's Dogma is one of the best games of all time. Cannot wait for this!
@djlard You're not a realist, just a pessimist with terrible taste. 🤷🏼
@theMEGAniggle I just keep distance from AC Mirage to not be let down again.
@MackinsVII It is your opinion.
@WallyWest Yes, I had to buy milion copies...
The graphics look very weird to me personally. But I genuinely don't care. It's DD2!!!!
Dragon dogma 2 and spiderman 2.wow.both games looks amazing.word up son
@MackinsVII yep i been saying this for a long time.dragon dogma dark arisen is one of the best games ever made.word up son
@djlard Because apart from the crap live service stuff, everything they showed looked great, even the indies.
This was the best game in the show for me. Capcom really nailed it.
The first game has by far the best main menu song of all time. I want them to include it in the sequel somewhere.
Cutscenes look bad. Gameplay looks great.
@durxll123 My thoughts exactly unfortunately. Just looks like DLC for Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen.
I know this will be a hot take, but to be fair I'm biased since I got lost and bored playing thru the prologue of Dragon's Dogma 1.
I wanted to see Pragmata, but I’m glad we saw more from this one. Wish we had more details if this was a 2024 release or what though.
Massive deal, Dragon Dogma is one of the few true blue RPGs out there. One that's seriously committed to it's world and making you feel like an actual walking, sleeping part of the world. An RPG that demands character growth.
Here's an example: in Dragons Dogma you can make the player character tall, short, thin, fat, muscular unmuscular - but it has real game consequences. Light characters get knocked around much more easily but aren't going to run out of stamina clambering up the kneck of a giant
Finally, a game worth getting a PS5 for...and it's not from Sony.
@Kanji-Tatsumi It looks underwhelming? This is the best game announced at the showcase. Like the first game, it's going to be amazing.
Definitely GOTY for whatever year it comes out.
@Deadhunter You're missing something great with the original. The gameplay itself is unique and unmatched.
@Sil_Am That EAs' "Heretic" looked good too.
Yeah! This was a great surprise for me. Waiting patiently.
@Kanji-Tatsumi
I would have thought it'd look better gameplay-wise than Monster Hunter World, and I was never a fan of MH despite enjoying MHW.
Combat just doesn't look as fun, here is hoping it's good.
In the first game, going out at night (enemies are stronger when the sun goes down), wandering through a forest and happening upon the disturbing face of some horrible creature, emerging from the shadows, throwing my torch down and jumping onto its back, stabbing it to the flickers of firelight, as more enemies emerged from all sides, before raining meteors from the sky upon them, is unquestionably one of the most memorable moments I’ve had in my gaming life. The atmosphere of that game is on another level. Everyone should be excited for this, I’d imagine we haven’t seen anything yet
