There's no getting around it: The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is gonna be topping the UK's physical game charts for a while. While it inevitably is still sat at number one, the remainder of the top 10 is also relatively unchanged. LEGO 2K Drive, however, mixes things up a bit with a debut at number seven. It's not the strongest first week of physical sales, but not much can compete with Nintendo's premium series.
FIFA 23 is actually up to second place, the highest it's been in several weeks. Other PS5 and PS4 games are moving down, such as Hogwarts Legacy in third, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor in fourth, and Dead Island 2 in 10th. Half of the top 10 games are exclusive to Switch, so that about does it this time, as far as PlayStation is concerned.
Here's the latest top 10 in full.
UK Sales Charts: Week Ending 20th May, 2023
- The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
- FIFA 23
- Hogwarts Legacy
- Star Wars Jedi: Survivor
- Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
- Pokémon Scarlet
- LEGO 2K Drive
- The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
- Animal Crossing: New Horizons
- Dead Island 2

I expect this list to remain Zelda-centric for quite a while. I feel the same way about these new fangled Zelda releases that I do about Beyonce albums. I know that each new release will sell millions and critics will throw their backs out hurling superlatives at them, but they’re just not my thing.
55 hours into Tears of the Kingdom currently, and I've barely scratched the surface of what this game has to offer. I'm going to be playing this for months, I think.
Impressive momentum for Hogwarts Legacy there.
@Amnesiac I feel the same way and I couldn't agree more (esp. when it comes to Beyonce).
Yep, playing Jedi Survivor at home and Zelda on my commute. Fantastic times (I thought people were not paying $70 for games 🤔😉)
Well, except when go to bed at 2AM on a work week trying to get my last Jedi Power... thank good for coffee and post pandemic work from home culture.
To soon, but really want more Hogwarts Legacy. Game was a blast.
Damn go zelda I wonder when totk is going to outsell botw
Mariokart 8 is just insane at this point
Final Fantasy XVI will take the top spot in a few weeks time!
@Mikey856
Seriously! 9 years old and still in fifth place. Flabbergasting.
As expected from ToTK. Amazing game, already spent so many hours yet there's still so many things to do and places to explore. What's insane is that Mario Kart 8 is still selling this much.
I'm so impressed of the number of people who can play a game at 30fps!!! no "decent gamer" can play at that frame rate, haha... Oh Zelda!!!
Totk is amazing, not really much comes close tbh. It deserves very long legs indeed (and a more powerful console to play it on)
Just wait until Hogwarts Legacy gets released on Switch. It has been in the top 3 since early Feb and we are only looking at physical sales..
@Darylb88
We’ll finally be able to play it as it was intended! At 15fps on the toilet!
@Amnesiac Totally agree. Beautiful game, well made, good gameplay variety, should be something I'd love... nope, it's not interesting to me at all. Still has some of the same issues with lack of enemy variety etc as BotW.
TotK is amazing so this is well deserved.
@cassiel I expect more salt when this 30fps handheld game sweeps at the Game Awards.
@HeeHo haha, indeed, that'll be epic!!
Mario Kart 8 is the GTA V of the Switch.
Zelda is dominating me right now. I am in awe. Every niggle I had with BotW has been addressed and the endless possibilities for approaching a problem, and the world in general, is astounding. Every other game is on serious pause for the next 200+ hours
