Hellboy: Web of Wyrd tells an original story written by Hellboy creator Mike Mignola in the format of a roguelike action-adventure brawler. We got a new trailer (that forgot to tell you this one is coming to PlayStation platforms) in which we see Hellboy solving problems the best way he knows how, and is ably voiced by the late-great Lance Reddick himself.
The art style is going to immediately appeal to fans of Mignola's work, and while we'd like to see some uncut gameplay to better understand how it all works, it seems pretty cool. Apparently, the story here ties together several independent tales from the Hellboy universe into a single unified experience, which sounds like a draw in its own right.
What do you think of Hellboy: Web of Wyrd? Are you a fan of the big friendly fellow and the source material from which it pulls? Debate whether Hellboy would beat The Thing in a fight in the comments section below.

I’m excited for this one! Hoping the combat/gameplay systems are interesting enough to keep you invested (gameplay has seemed veeery simplistic from what we’ve seen). Otherwise the art style looks great, and it’ll be excellent to hear Reddick’s voice again!
I can't wait for this one. Huge Mignola fan here. Looking forward to diving back into comics in general, as I've been collecting rather than reading them.
Art style makes it a day one purchase. Been wanting a fluid comic book style game, this nails it.
Wait is not Ron Perlman voicing the character?
This isn't looking too great imo. Weird, limited animations and the voice acting sounds very poor. I think this really impressive art style is hiding that this might be a very simple and disappointing title
The art style is utterly gorgeous. Everything else looks... iffy? The animation is stiff, the combat (well, what little we've seen of it, anyway) looks clunky. I dunno, I just think people should temper their expectations with this one.
I’m very much looking forward to this. I’ve been a big Mignola fan since before he ever created Hellboy and I dig rogue-likes / lites so I’ll be very interested to play this. Would love to see a release date on it. And I get the feeling this is going to be a ‘budget’ title along the lines of ALIENS: Dark Descent, where it releases at a price of $40 or something to that effect. I just don’t see this being a full blown $70 game for some reason……
The style is cool, but I think it'd be a bit much on the eyes... people struggle enough with motion blur, as is, so don't see how a fluid comic-book approach will go. And yeah... that voice just doesn't do it for me! If it ain't Perlman, it ain't Hellboy.
It being roguelike is a bummer. I thought it was going to be linear. :/
