Blasphemous 2 continues the series' trademark blend of tough-as-nails 2D gameplay and unsettling Catholicism-inspired enemy design. Preorders are now live, with the game launching on PS5 next month, on 24th August, and we got a suitably gory gameplay snippet to tide us over in the meantime.
The second scripture in the ongoing Blasphemous series follows from the free Wounds of Eventide DLC, which sees the eternal slumber of The Penitent One disturbed, awakening to another cycle of death and rebirth. Set in a vast, non-linear world, combat has seen several impressive upgrades. With a series of new weapons, moves, executions, and expanded combos, it looks like a worthy sequel to a memorable game.
What's your experience with the series, did you play the first one? Will you confess to being excited about the sequel? Seek absolution in the comments section below.

Art looks really good. Might pick it up.
Looking forward to it.
There's a physical edition at launch this time too.
I’m usually buying digital games on sales or used disks, but this game I pre-ordered without any hesitation earlier this week.
The first one was perfect. I have no doubt that the sequel will be even better!
