Update (22nd August 2023): Publisher Konami has clarified the frame rate and resolution for the upcoming Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1. In a statement issued to IGN, the company says the compilation has a 1080p, 60 frames-per-second "target" on all platforms (except Nintendo Switch). This means we can expect 1080p and 60fps on PS5 and PS4. It won't be reaching a nice and crisp 4K resolution, then, but it'll at least be better than the purported 720p.
What’s the resolution you associate with PS5 and PS4 games? On the latter, 1080p has generally been the standard, pushing up as high as 4K on the PS4 Pro. And the former format has generally targeted 2160p where possible, with a few noteworthy examples using checkerboard or reconstruction techniques to boost their final image quality.
You’d expect the upcoming Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1 to be running at a rock solid 60 frames-per-second in full 4K, then, wouldn’t you? This is, after all, a compilation of a PS1 game and two PS2 titles. Well, according to Nintendo Life, the collection will actually be targeting 720p because this bundle is based on the PS3’s ancient Metal Gear Solid HD Collection.
In fact, the site also notes that the menus in the current build carry a “2012” copyright notification, effectively confirming they’re based on Bluepoint’s decades-old remasters. Considering Konami is asking good money for this compilation, this honestly cuts a little deep – there’s no way this bundle should be releasing in 720p on contemporary consoles.

Glad I still have my Sony hd ready.
Meanwhile on, say, DuckStation or PCSX2, you can play (your legally dumped ISOs) at whatever resolution you want, and have been able to for many years. These modern remasters of games are already largely pointless if all they do is a res boost - but this doesn't even do that properly.
Genuinely not suprised they're doing the bare minimum. Can't expect much from Konami these days, and I honestly don't even think they'll bother with MGS4, or they'll treat it just like the recent RDR port
So $50 for a bunch of PS3 ports with zero enhancements? Thanks Konami 🙄
Did Take Two aquire them? Dreadful.
I was passing on this initially anyways given that it comes out 4 days after Spider-Man 2, but this just makes it that much easier to wait on it.
This isn't surprising, but it's still ridiculous that they didn't even go in and up the resolution to 1080p given that they are charging $50 for it.
Meh that’s disappointing
Starting to sound as another Red Dead Redemption situation where the best way to play is the Xbox BC versions. Sadly, those versions got delisted, and only playable if anyone already owned them.
And just like that - something everybody was looking forward to became another undesirable cash grab.
This will sell like burnt cakes. Bravo Konami. Way to go. Look to the remaster of Quake 2 for pointers of how to execute a success effectively.
Even though i preordered this from the Turkish psn store for £20 im still thinking about cancelling it.
I'll play them on my PS3 then. The ones I already own, I mean. Embarrassing to say the least, but what can you expect from ConAmi.
Copy paste bundle
I have tried this series multiple times. I have tried to play MGS1 3 times. I have tried MGS2, MGS3 and MGS5.
The franchise has everything I should enjoy : stealth action, over the top cutscenes, interesting esthetics.
But somehow, it never clicked. I always felt the games to be clunky and relying too much on try and error. I know it must be me, but still...
To the subject of this article... I mean... what did we really expect from Konami?
…and yet fans will buy this…theres no common sense in gamers since the beginning of time.
Can you imagine how bad this'll look on a big TV?
Still, Quake 2 7/10 😈
Another demaster then
Ok, I'm going to hold out for more information but will be cancelling my preorder if this is the case or if this is not cleared up beforehand.
This is absolutely unacceptable and not what I personally wanted from this. I still have my PS3 and copy of the HD Collection if I wanted 720p@60.
On one hand I guess this is an answer to all the people complaining about putting too many resources into remasters/remakes rather than new games. Don't want them to try then here's a flat port with no bells or whistles.
@Powerplay94 It's the case that the biggest consoles don't have an answer to play it on modern hardware. Modern convenience is the easiest thing to sell when you have virtually no choice beyond take it or buy older hardware and the game to then play it which will still be more expensive.
I’ll be buying this for my OLED Switch to play in portable mode, largely for this reason. After the price drops significantly, of course.
Went from a definite buy, to wait for bargain bin (£20 or less) physical.
@4th_at_EVO There‘s a middle way between „straight port without changes“ and „shiny remaster“. And that’s a relatively cheap remaster with original models and textures, but improved resolution, frame-rate, LoD setting, texture filtering and shadow resolution. Heck, even the UI resolution can be original, but with adapted button symbols. If RDR remaster would deliver 60 fps, then it would fit into this category, and most people would be quite happy with the result.
Not surprised, disappointed, but not surprised...
Dear oh dear, what a waste of time if bare minimum done on this ,as people have said quake 2 made for ps4/ps5 shows how it should be done sds like another red dead situation again,if yr gonna make these remasters etc then at least give all gamers whether they've bought game yrs before or not ,a reason to wanna thinking about buying it,do it properly or not at all in my humble opinion
@KaijuKaiser I completely agree with you. This was a remaster done properly
And yes makes rdr with 4k res a wonderful port lol
They seem to just have no respect for their back catalogue at all.
Unwraps a Werthers Original and pops it into my mouth I remember when 720 was considered HD.
Maybe that's why I have no problem in buying it. Or maybe I'm too lazy to get my PS2 or PS3 out of the cupboard.
Such a Konami thing to do. What a joke.
The only reason to buy this collection is if you don't own a PC that supports emulator.
Did Konami not ask Bluepoint to do some upscaling?
The bigger shame is not having a part of a tooled up Bluepoint actually engaged in doing the PS versions in house & probably have come up with a better port!
Unfortunately, there has been zero efforts put into ps2 emulation ever since the limited defunct PS2 Classics on ps4 catalogue & most of those don't seem to be compatible on PS5...you'd think with PS Deluxe/Premium they'd revisit this with a new better software emulation to add value to the service, but sadly doesn't seem to be on the cards judging by the mostly psp & trickle of ps1 releases to date.😕
@AndyKazama Emulation is illegal. And yes, I realise that it's treated in the same way that the law against cycling on the pavement is treated i.e. its ignored, but that doesn't change the fact that it is.
These emulation sites will get a crackdown on them sooner or later, just as torrents did before them. And when they do, your only option will be to play the official release.
Here is a short poem:
720p is too high,
No 480i,
No buy!
This makes the Red Dead port look like the Quake 2 remaster 🙂 I will also not subject my eyes to 720p stretched out to infinity for my TV, it's going to be a great bargain bin pick up though 👍
@LifeGirl Emulation is not technically illegal if you own the game you're playing. At least, it's a grey area and will depend on the console, the producer and the means used to emulate.
And torrents have not disappeared... why would you think this?
Better have some decent trophy hunts then
@Czar_Khastik I like this idea.
Haiku time,
Metal gear is here,
My dead dog runs much better,
Should we be surprised?
I cant say I care too much about the resolution.
The bluepoint remake runs super well and to be honest, I'm a sucker for mgs so I'll buy it either way.
what is a shame, however, is that mgs works well because of the analog face buttons on the ps2 and ps3.
for now the best way to play these game is (somehow) still with a ps3.
what I do wonder however is how they'll make MGS4 work for the ps5, we've seen it running in 60 fps in 4k, and its the one game that would make the most sense having an upgrade.
If the RDR1 port is any indicator, folks will buy this in droves on day 1. Devs have picked up on our addiction to nostalgia being a great excuse for re-releases.
@Tharsman actually by the sound of it it makes rdr look like a masterful port.
@Olmaz
I do not emulate anything that I own. and neither does 99% of people who use emulation.
I do however support emulation because i assure you that the creators of the games we emulate would love to have them running as well as you possibly could.
I assure you that Kojima would love to have these games running on modern hardware in their best form possible.
to release an unmodified port with little to no attention paid to in the matter of performance is a corpo decision.
#f***konami
@SoulChimera I would rather buy your poem for 60$ than this poor man's port.
Saw that coming a mile away. I guess I'm glad I expect less than nothing from Konami.
And people are still "excited" for Silent Hill's return...like Konami (and Bloober) aren't going to F that up, too.
Big ooph here... Looks like I'll just pass on this then. I already have the old HD collection from PS3 and Xbox 360. What's worse is I'd assume those games haven't updated the controls either then which sucks. We need an updated controller layout for those games.
Will look great on my old Sony 32 inch trinitron CRT TV. Not so good on my 65inch 4k lol
This isn't going to go over well. People were rightly complaining about the laziness of the Red Dead Redemption release which thankfully at least came out with the bare minimum 4K and FSR2 on PS5. A collection with 720p for MGS 2-3 is just laughably bad in a depressing way.
I think I’m just happy to keep replaying all of these on my Vita if i get the urge. Or i can always pop in my 360 copy of the HD collection into the Series X if I want to play 2 and 3 again.
@LordOfTurnips Don't get me wrong, I know emulation is generally not used by people who already own the game, and I fully condone this, especially when the systems and games are not officially available. I was just pointing out a technicality.
But I'm with you on emulation, there is no chance in hell I will buy the games I played on my Master System or my SNES 30+ years ago! : )
And yes, f*** Konami!
With that news I’ll just stick with my PS3 MGS Legacy Collection. Sadly, Konami is not the same company we grew up with and hasn’t been for awhile now but this just further solidifies their direction. I suppose this is now for the new Gamers that don’t have access to older systems. I wonder how much interest they will even have in trying out a dormant franchise they likely know little to nothing about… 🤔
Well of course they will do this. Gamers buy whatever ***** they’re given. We suck as community
If that’s the case why not give us the GC remake of MGS instead of the original?
Is this actually confirmed outside of the NL video? I don't doubt Konami would do the bare minimum but it was only last week that RDR was an untouched 720p port that ended up being 4K.
stop crying.
theyre decades old games.
i still have a working ps3, with the HD Collection, and a Sony TV. everything looks fine.
if you are here to complain. please, dont play the game, please ignore the re-relases.
do you ppl really expect every, single, solitary re-release to be 1080p, 4K, UHD?
all of you people who complain about this, like the Red Dead thing, you're becoming worse than Star Wars fans. legit.
Damn I kinda don't care.
@Wilforce i think that might have to do with the studio that did the GameCube game
the original is better, anyway.
sure, Twin Snakes looks better, but some changes were made and the voice acting falls flat in alot of areas. it doesnt have the ruggedness of the original
@XboxTheBestBox You say this like Xbox isn't getting the same 720P version from Konomi. It is. Xbox is getting the exact same treatment here.
@LiquidouSnake I expect at least 1080P for any rerelease yes, and also, this is an expensive rerelease, not a $20-25 cheap bundle.
The way Push Square chooses to write is confusing. Is this lazy port 720p on PS4 and PS5 or is it 720p on all platforms?
Whelp.... good thing I own the original 3 games and can play them on my phat ps2 connected to a retrotink 5x pro and get 1080p, and even HDR if I wanted too.
One of my all time fav game series getting a collection which has been dead for 8 years since Hideo Kojima left Konami with no chance at all of MGS6 ever happening. Still very much gutted about it all tbh. Yh still own all these games physically except for the early non PlayStation versions but having them all available again on modern consoles makes me very happy. I'll take anything we get considering I thought Konami and MGS were forever dead in the gaming world. MGS collections yes please, Snake Eater remake yes please and Silent Hill 2 remake yes please
@Tharsman DF reported that RDR1 actually runs better on PS4/5 and Switch than the BC Xbox version.
@Jaz007 Don't respond to that guy. He's just here trolling.
Just pre ordered this earlier today, just about to cancel pre order
Well as the old saying goes:
Konami is Konami and Konami is the worst.
I will probably still get this collection but it aint a day one purchase anymore. Granted its still worth more that the RDR port but only because its 6 games instead of one
@Sequel Given the size of that brick that must take some size of hands 🤣
@ear_wig Kinda feel the same but concerned a possible vol2 with newer titles may struggle on switch, i like to keep collections all on one platform.
So this really is just a worse looking port of the 2013 MGS Legacy Collection (which I believe retailed for $60 USD at the time)...minus VR Missions, MGS4, and Peace Walker...and they're still charging $60 USD.
They can't even be bothered to do the bare minimum. Why does anyone give Konami the benefit of the doubt?
@4th_at_EVO My biggest fan derich will ask me to play this 720p version dood
Except for the initial price I was fine with the red dead port, but if the ps port of mgs turns out equal to the switch I'm pretty pissed.
My purchase decision went from switch (no because of empty cartridge and mandatory download) to ps5 (possibly a downgrade to my ps3 legacy collection) down to emulation on steam deck... way to make money Konami 👍
As Newell said, it all comes down to the question of service.
Isn't there a mgs3 remake being done? Surely that will be current graphics quality.
Nitroid on Twitter has 1080p footage from Konami
@LiquidouSnake when they're changing full price for a port. Yes. How about show some actual love to the games. A resolution boost is the least they should do.
@XboxTheBestBox how's that in anyway relevant to PS gamers though. Unless I'm colorblind this site is blue and has square in its name relating to the fact you press a square button on the PS controller, theres no button with square on the Xbox controller (obviously). Not really something to be proud of staying in my lane but sometimes when I read some comments I feel like patting myself on the back for doing just that
Wow that’s really low effort. I already have the Legacy collection on PS3.
So basically the only noteworthy change is they just added trophy support to the MGS port that was in the collection before? It’s sad that I’ll probably get it for that reason alone, but it sure does come off as barebones and lazy.
@Matroska this is why i don't understand why anyone would waste their time and money on something like this, it's not hard to get your original discs and play these games on this software with a better experience
@Smiffy01 Definitely waiting on reviews prior to buying on Switch, for performance reasons. The Switch can do it if Konami puts the work in, but it’s not looking super promising on that front…
this is too funny. konami does not have the know-how nor is it willing to pay bluepoint to do an internal 1080p/4k upscale version of its 10-year old remaster collection. so... all they did was hire some subpar devlopment studio to port it over and call it a day. the bare minimum with a full price tag attached. why oh why do people forget just how bad konami is? they are a creatively bankrupt publisher that cares little about its own history/IP and cares even less about its fans. please stop giving them a free pass when they have done absolutely nothing to earn our trust and respect back.
i don't think there is a single native 720p game on ps4 so this may be the first. 720p on the ps5 is hysterical. better hope your tv does decent upscaling then haha. oh, we should also keep expectations in check that this rehashed collection is bug free and doesn't suffer from performance issues since afterall, bluepoint had nothing to do with the porting process. better off sticking to the ps3 release and save your money. konami of this era doesn't deserve a penny.
@ear_wig That's a big ask from Konami lol
@Dominator2885 i believe the retrotink 4k will have hdmi in so that will be a great way to upscale various ps3/ps4 era games as well as this mgs collection (since konami cannot be bothered to do it natively). of course, the retrotink 4k will cost around 750USD when it launches so that is something to consider
This is clearly just putting the original games on a ps5 disc. This is why I’m not confident the first game will even have trophies.
i mean does it really matter with games this old , i don't think it would be that noticeable tbh with a ps2 game being 720p vs 1080p. funny no one cared about this stuff when the games first came out.
Can someone confirm at all that this story is correct? Reading comments elsewhere that the 720p is in relation to the Switch version only?
@twitchtvpat
It definitely is noticable. I think people confuse a game's graphics with a game's resolution. Nobody is asking for the graphics of the game to be touched up or raised, it's the resolution. Everything just looks cleaner that way, whereas with lower resolutions you get a blurrier effect which becomes more noticeable the bigger the television.
And people have always cared about graphics. It's what killed 2D sprite art once the PS3 era began. Nobody wanted to play "dated" games like that anymore. Though again, that's graphics and this is resolution.
Oh come the ***** on seriously
@ATaco but its going to play the same though. like i said will it really make that much of a difference? i would say if this stops some one from buying it , then weren't really sure on buying it in the first place. just imo.
Hope 1080p 60fps, then let's go
@SoulChimera I had zero sleep last night and i’m too tired to even move my face; yet I lol’d at your Haiku 👌.
Oof another greedy company trying to capitalize on 10+ yo port without doing anything and asking for a full price game. Could buy the ps3/360 for less and get more content.
FYI HD Collection already downgraded both MGS2 and 3 a little bit in the effects department, you can look up comparisons with original games.
Not to mention the fact that both games had certain sections removed like the skating minigame in MGS2 and Secret Theater, Snake vs. Monkey and the slasher dream sequence in MGS3.
To top it all off, seeing it running at 720p is mind-boggling, this is also coming to PC. Surely they aren't expecting people to play it at such resolution on top of the line hardware. If the PC version will be configurable to run at 4K, then it'll be a slap in the face of the console players.
@Deityjester Nothing I could do, you guys wanted this, YOU, YES, YOU asked me to play this!
If you are buying this you are the part of problem, simple as that. Can't believe we are getting these lazy as ***** attempts! This all should work 4K@60fps. Unbelievable!
So everyone got mad for no reason now that it’s confirmed that 720p is only for Switch portable and current gen hits at least 1080?
Don't believe everything you read kids.
Becoming a huge problem for this site.
I'm glad every Metal Gear in this collection has Trophies.
If things like low resolution are a dealbreaker for you, don't buy a PS1 or PS2 game in 2023. It really is as simple as that.
This thread has been a nice demonstration of just how toxic and negative gamers are today.
I had a feeling people were jumping the gun a bit on this. Say what you will about Konami but they don't phone in their legacy content. They've done a great job with their Castlevania collections for example. I continue to look forward to this collection.
I truly don’t understand why these companies don’t get out in front of these issues before they become rumors. When you announce the game then you should announce the specs. The new Red Dead Redemption port runs at 4K on PS5. We didn’t find this out until reviewers got their hands on it but people were upset at announcement because Rockstar gave the vague “PS4 Pro enhancements”. Then Konami puts the Switch version in front of media outlets and everyone assumes 720p/30 fps is the target when now they clarify it’s 1080p/60 fps on all other consoles. Just say it from the start companies, please!
Edit: And gamers could just try to chill too including me. The pitchforks come out quickly. Just saying it would be easier for the companies not to have to answer questions later if they gave info up front and less confusing for customers.
@Darude84 1080p is super low for PS2 games
@LifeGirl the game's age has nothing to do with the resolution it is being rendered at
Oh thank god. Was getting this collection anyways regardless. What are you gonna do about it when I pick up my preorder on release day and then pop it into my PS5, nothing because there's nothing you can do about it. When you adore something so bloody much you simply dont care
@vrubayka And you need a 30 year old game to be running at 4K why exactly? If anything, making those jagged polygons sharper is going to make it look worse.
@Darude84 everyone got mad because this information wasn't clearly conveyed until now.
@vrubayka 1080p is fine for PS2 games, more than fine actually - it's way higher than they were designed to be seen at. Would 2160p be better? Yeah, of course but it's not a night and day difference in visual quality. I can load up any PS2 game on PCSX2 and it looks a bit sharper, like applying a high level of anti-aliasing, as opposed to medium on 1080p. Not exactly a dealbreaker.
I'd even say the difference in quality between 1080p and 2160p for PS2 games is smaller than the difference between 720p and 1080p, and especially between 448p and 720p. Diminishing returns, innit?
Are they full remakes or just remasters
@Bamila They're better: they're ports.
@LifeGirl because it's going to look better on 4K screens. PS2 games look great in high definition, even though they weren't designed for it.
@Max_the_German Look at the good ones Final Fantasy 10 on the PS4 was a nice enough remaster at a nice price point. Or Final Fantasy type 0 from the PSP on PS4 got a great update.
@vrubayka Read please it's 720P on Switch.
@Orpheus79V That doesn't mean they shouldn't push for higher def. It means that they weren't able to get them to run at 4K - because these are very probably being emulated rather than running natively which in itself is already an issue. They're charging for it - they might as well actually port the games instead of having them run through an emulation layer. An since they're emulating - they could've gone for the actual PS2 versions that have more content than HD collection. It just doesn't seem like a good product.
@Flaming_Kaiser The article was updated.
The fact this website went off what an NINTENDO site said lol of course it’s
720p on SWITCH
Don’t assume the same thing for PlayStation
wow, this was poor reporting by pushsquare. it didn't make sense but i went along with the false narrative thinking we were getting 720p upscales. 1080p sounds much more reasonable for the ps4 but still underwhelming for the ps5.
@Porco It wasn't just pushsquare. Everyone ran with that story instead of waiting for an official announcement. Of course, the Switch version is going to run at a lower resolution and frame rate than PS4/5. No one has any patience, anymore.
huge relief tbh
1080p is exactly what I was expecting
@LifeGirl I don’t know if you understand how emulation works, but emulators are able to upscale the graphics of these older games, while also utilising various anti-aliasing techniques to get rid of jagged edges. You can go to Digital Foundry’s Youtube page, where they have many examples of this.
So what is even the point of a native PS5 release then?
So glad Quake 2 remaster came out at the perfect time to show just how lazy, greedy, and full of sh*t these publishers are.
Why not use the Gamecube mgs1 version it was simply amazing and modern controls.
@Luna-Harmony MGS1 remake (The Twin Snakes) while not terrible was hated by quite a many few fans. It's a weird one to explain, there's just something really weird about it when playing. GamingBolt youtube channel just done a video about this very game a week ago about why is Twin Snakes hated
Removed - unconstructive feedback
even the updated specs are ridiculous, should be 4k 120 on ps5 zero questions.
@XboxTheBestBox you see more of this with Xbox because of the system architecture is similar or built upon over the generations. PS3 was stupid to code on and took a lot of time to master, so rebuilding the engines to perform they way we expect and this being Konami, this is par for the course.
@Beerheadgamer82 I can explain why Twin Snakes is hated: 50% of it is because of the cutscenes that are like something out of a Shonen anime and 50% of it is due to the fact that Shadow Moses was never designed to handle the MGS2 engine. The addition of first person aiming and the ability to jump over railings completely changes the game and not in a good way. It needed a complete do-over with the same sort of attention that RE Remake got.
@twitchtvpat I mean it was 2001 so no one had 1080p or 4K TVs so of course it wasn't mentioned 😂😂 plus the fact the PS2 didn't even output 1080p
@Matroska it's laziness and a cheap cash grab. All of these things have been available to pc for years decades by the modding community! This is why I said a ps5 pro is pointless its not going to change anything it don't matter if the ps5 sported the newest amd ryzen cpu and the newest graphic high-end chip set. The developers are going to do the bare minimum and you still wouldn't see all games 4k and 60fps!
I will not purchase this since 1080p60fps will push my TV and console beyond their limits.
@LifeGirl still own the game sitting on my shelf. Haven't properly played Twin Snakes since completing it once around release. The MGS1 PS1 original on the other hand is possibly my 3rd most times finishing a game at well over a dozen times. Most likely done more 90s RE1, RE2 and RE3 playthroughs given how shorter they are to finish, each having more than a dozen playthroughs
What happens when psycho mantis reads my memory card?
@theSpectre true. it was a reactionary and emotional response by the news media at large.
@sonicmeerkat if you have pt installed, he will say:
"keep dreaming! maybe in another life, kid!"
Konami is right. I'll buy it anyway.
@vrubayka They're ports. They've made a handful of changes fixing minor glitches from the HD Collection release, switching out some of the stock footage with similar clips because they couldn't relicense the originals because some of the companies don't exist anymore, etc.
And the Switch just doesn't have the guts to run emulation of 360/PS3 games, regardless of it's lower framerate.
@twitchtvpat don't forget MGS1 and 2 were predominantly played on CRT TVs. It why a straight port of old games look worse than you remember. The natural scan lines, curve of the screen and brilliant colours are way better for og versions of old games. Flat screen panels have caught up now in their own right with oled, hdr and of course the size.
So when an old game is ported without any tlc, then it looks worse than the old versions. The blurriness is a real issue, it off putting and causes you to strain your eyes. I wear glasses and replaying some old ports it's like I haven't bothered to put them on. 😅
I gotta say, the price of this collection is absurd and vaguely insulting. It’s $20 less than a brand new AAA title.
Only reason I'm gonna buy this is the hope of enough people buy it I finally might get to play mgs4 in a mgs master collection 2. I almost bought a PS3 to play mgs4 but every copy I found was 50-100 so I'd rather be ripped off by konami, at least I'll get a few extra mgs games and hopefully mgs4 after this collection
@theSpectre no they didn't. They said the shadows were better in their opinion but I don't find super sharp shadows too realistic lol. They also claimed the contrast is better on PS4&5 as well which I also contest. The Xbox version has deeper darks and brighter brights. DF can claim whatever they want but this new version is slightly washed out compared to the Xbox native contrast settings. Granted you could probably change your TV settings to get the same thing either way. All DF claimed were edge cases and even then it was all opinionated and subjective. Not to mention as far as I saw they never claimed either version ran better than the other. Both are pretty much locked at 30fps and look practically the same.
@Beerheadgamer82 If they used the graphics but modern controls it would be great though.
@LiquidouSnake full4k and 60fp tut ýhj i dont expect that, but I also would like it to be a( considerable) upgrade from the original. Not the old crap with a full new game price tag.
I never played the OG game and I basically don’t remember anything before Guns of the Patriots. It legit would be like playing everything for the first time. I want to play this collection on my living room TV. I’m buying this 4k or not. I’m good with 1080p60.
I know, I’m everything that’s bad about the gaming community.
The only thing I don’t accept is blaming this on nostalgia. That’s not me at all. I bought the Wonder Boy collection because of it. But not this one. I genuinely want to play this games sitting on the couch using my DualSense. Sue me. No wait, please don’t.
Cheers.
1080p is better than what the PS3 collection offered. Now i can play all these games on my PS5 with the dualsense which is an awesome controller.
If we could buy old games for old platforms it wouldn't really be an issue. E.G we could pay the company that owns the licence and consoles to print a game and a re-release of old consoles once per year with a pre-order that would be fantastic as not everyone wants to track down old gamecubes etc and wants them new (some people are germaphobes for example or have bad immunity systems).
I for example would love it if "protect me knight and gotta protectors came to switch" for example so all 3 games would be there.
i would love to play fire emblems radiance /radiant dawn but i ain't paying for second hand 200+ pounds for games.
I would love to play super mario galaxy 2, pokemon colloseum 1+2 , zelda windwaker, twilight princess and sprit tracks and paper mario 1000 year door.
Same with games like Luna etc. I would like to own persona 1 and 2 in english and now pick up old icons like silent hill now that i am much older. I guess my catalogue for the super old is not that bad but meh.
@Porco
My memory is foggy on this topic but the retrotink 5xpro works best with ps2 games, not ps3/ps4 games, as it upscales the ps2 to 1080p
@Dominator2885 yea the retrotink 5x and 4k are entirely different products. the 4k has hdmi input which means it can upscale ps3 and ps4 games to 4k resolution, in addition to all the older consoles.
