My mail inbox from my psprices wishlist is full lol
Once again, nothing on my wishlist apart from one thing is discounted. Where's the discount for The Expanse or Star Trek or the RDR1 port/remaster?
nothing really goes on sale on the PS Store! each game has two prices that alternate every 2 or 4 weeks. Price 1 is the high unrealistic price and Price 2 is the regular price which they call the discount price.
Here is an example: Red Dead Redemption 2 current price £54.99 and its last discount price was £18.14.
Every once in a blue moon you see something which is actually cheaper than normal but this is quite rare.
well, another sale without one single game worth it. good times. This is what happens when you have the monopoly on digital sales.
@kirkn Exactly! You will find 99% of these games on "sale" cheaper elsewhere and not on sale.
(Another) rather disappointing sale Sony…
I think I’ll buy Forspoken, but I wonder what the chances are of it coming to PS Plus essential this year. It seems like the kind of title they’d add
I'm not used to having spare credit. The desire to buy is strong. Especially as there's a bunch of games from my wishlist on sale right now. I keep telling myself "I can only play one at a time", but the child that lives in my brain says "games good. More games gooder" and you can't argue with that logic.
@Kyushutrail I’m wondering the same thing. For $27 it’s still a smidge too high for me to take a chance on it so I hope they include it on one of the PS+ services. I can’t imagine it’s selling very many copies, even at a discount.
Another one on my wishlist that I feel similarly about is Wild Hearts, which I’m curious about but just not quite enough to drop $25 when there’s a real chance it comes to PS+ before I’d even get around to playing it.
I had a blast playing resident evil 5 with my brother earlier this year, despite it not being a very good game, it was absolutely hilarious. Just noticed resident evil 6 has been discounted to £4, so I've nabbed that for the next time we're together!
I’m in Italy right now, just left Florence and now in Rome. Guess who bought the Ezio Collection for 9.99? 😁
Haven’t played it since I think Xbox360 days so I’m excited to revisit…
Waiting for a 50% off Atomic Hearts. I still want to give that go.
@Elodin don't do it it starts off really cool but the core gameplay is not fun at allllll
One of the most underwhelming sales for a long time (imho)
Ill wait till Trails of Cold Steel II goes on sale again for $14-19 bucks
Currently have enough games to keep me going for a long time.
@Galv Monopoly on digital sales? I don't get it. Care to explain?
Any PSVR2 games? I bought the Switchback Dark Pictures game and within 5 minutes of playing it I knew it was a “buyers regret” game for me. Awful but not surprising from that studio
I bought a few smaller games.
Last Resort
Lacuna
Synergia
Solasta
I like checking games out for a low price.
@Galv uhhhh
A company cannot have a monopoly when they own the platform and are the only company selling through that platform. That is simply their retail platform.
In order for Sony to have a "digital monopoly", the PlayStation consoles would have to be able to host other vendors digital stores e.g. you'd have to be able to have the Microsoft store and Square Enix digital stores run along side and separate to the PSN, selling digital PlayStation games. The monopoly would then exist if Sony quashed the competing digital stores to give themselves the largest market share of digital content sold on and through the console, unfairly pushing the competitors out.
Stating that Sony have a monopoly on digital sales through PSN is akin to walking into a 7/11 (or any other store) and declaring that they have a monopoly on stuff sold in the store. They don't, you've just walked into their store where you can only buy from them.
I really wish there was a 'recently added" tab or filter on the store.
Lot of misunderstandings here on what is a monopoly. If the Playstation Store is the only place you can buy games digitally for the PS5, then it is a monopoly. You cannot buy PS5 games digitally anywhere else - it is a monopoly. 7/11 is not a monopoly - you can buy your toothpaste elsewhere. Sony has used its monopoly to artificially set its prices high. Steam, for example, is not , as there are other digital storefronts to buy digital PC games - and they have far better sales as a result.
@UntilRespawn Respectfully-what you are describing is not a monopoly. You can buy digital games elsewhere-it is just another brand or type of game. Sony has every right to have their own storefront to sell their own merchandise. When Target has Martha Stewart Sheets as an exclusive brand, I don't expect to find that brand at Walmart, nor does Target have a monopoly on sheets. You can still get sheets elsewhere. They just might not be your favorite ones.
Just because a company restricts access to the brand you prefer doesn't mean they have a monopoly if you can get similar items elsewhere. Monopoly is a term with a specific legal meaning, and the PS storefront is not it.
@kirkn
Exactly what you said.
Anyway, what I wanted to say:
I can't accept a few deals ever. For example, I never played RD2 or GTA5. Since I have ps, I never saw the price below £18. It's like Titanfall 2 would be always over £15. I got it for £1.99.
I know all my pc games from childhood are much older than ps4 and ps5 games, however some of them still available ( and it's free). I doubt these already 6-10 years old ps games will be available in the future for "pennies").
I guess once we can buy only online games, the deal prices will be even higher than now.
Even though I am a bit disappointed for the "deals", if anyone can recommend any good deal, I am listening.
Sain'ts Row 4 for $3.99 on the Playstation 4 PSN store. That's pretty darn cheap. I used to have it the physical game disc and case for my Playstation 3 a few years back. Enjoyed the game at the time for awhile but was getting burned out on Saints Row gaming though
@Kyushutrail I bought immortals of aveum in a sale and a couple of months later it was given to us in our ps subscription. I'm interested in forspoken too but I'm fed up of getting burnt by Sony in these sales. I almost bought fc24 too but I held off in the end and I'm glad I did 🤣
So, they highlight Taxilfe as a good deal, yet rewarded it with a 3/10 score?
Are these "highlights" sponsored at all??
@BusyOlf I feel you dude. I did the same!
@Neilypoos thanks brother, some of the animations are so bad I’m slowly losing the will to continue playing. Seen better graphics on a GameBoy Advance
@Logonogo very much agreed.
I was hoping for a spiritual successor to BioShock but was left with a frustrating FPS with a so so story that couldn't hook me enough to see it through to the end
I had a look through the new deals and I pulled the trigger on wrc generations fully loaded edition. I've been after a rally game for ages and this was a good price point for me. I had a go on EA's wrc but I didn't like the graphics considering it's using the ue5 engine (lots of pop in and awful textures). Wrc generations looks superb and sounds brilliant too.
So Lords of the Fallen (new one) is now £30 and is version 1.5!!
I think there won't be any more updates now as the roadmap is complete with the latest 'Master of Fate' release.
Performance fixed on PS5 now, worth a punt?
I’m strongly considering Dead Island 2 and its DLC. I played the game on my Series X when it first came out, but never touched the DLC despite loving the game. This will give me a perfect reason to replay the game on PlayStation and even get the platinum.
@UntilRespawn . thank you for clarifying that. I find it a bit exhausting trying to explain what seems obvious. nice one
What are people talking about. you can not buy digital games for Playstation anywhere else. So they dictate prices with no alternative.
@Logonogo oh. That's too bad. I'll wait for a deep sale then. Thanks for the heads up!
@Elodin just my opinion of course but I found it deeply unsatisfying
@Lyedecker There is on the site. Not on console? I'll have a look later
Wish the Trails of Cold Steel games would be on sale really cheap like 9.99 on the Playstation 4 PSN store. Especially Trails of Cold Steel II and IV
@Elodin I will buy it second hand, much better than Sony offers.
@BusyOlf
Exactly, Switchback is just an OK game, not much this time, for me the only interesting offer is Demeo that matches its lowest price and Red Matter collection if you don't have either game.
