Whisper it, but hit movie franchise A Quiet Place is coming to the PS5, in a new survival horror subtitled The Road Ahead. The new game, published by Saber Interactive and developed by Stormind Games, is being described as a first-person, single player adventure where you’ll “experience an untold story of survival after humanity’s fall to deadly creatures that hunt by sound”.
The press release explains: “Capturing the frantic terror, unnerving atmosphere, and gripping human drama that made the franchise famous, A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead is designed for fans of the films, horror games, and story-driven adventures alike. Experience the journey of a young woman struggling to endure not only the nightmarish creatures of the apocalypse, but also the anguish of interpersonal family conflicts and her own inner fears. With nothing more than your wits and the simple tools you can scavenge, you’ll have to overcome the many treacherous challenges and obstacles that lay ahead, all while trying to survive an ever-present threat of the unknown enemies.”
This is a brand-new story in the universe which first debuted in 2018, and unsurprisingly sound will play a huge role in the gameplay loop. You’ll need to think carefully about every action you take, and consider the impact it’ll have on your survival. You can get a sample of the gameplay courtesy of the trailer embedded above, with a tentative 2024 release date announced. Is this on your radar at all? Stay very quiet in the comments section below.

Was half expecting a Depeche Mode reference in the tag line.
@3Above Thought it'd be a bit much!
@get2sammyb nah mate, I just can't get enough! 😅🤣
Somewhat of a alien isolation feel
At last something that appeals to me.
Looks quite interesting, might be worth a purchase.
@3Above I was to. I hope they never let me down again
I’d think a better fit would be a MMO game, or limited to 16. More people, more chaos.
I don't have VR but this seems like a game that could have taken advantage of it.
So this is like Alien Isolation with Hard mode where the Alien is more sensitive to sound?
I’d love to see movement like that in gameplay. It’s not drunk it’s swagger
@3Above To be fair @get2sammyb has to get the balance right!
I just can’t get into first-person games and I don’t really know why…
