As part of its IGN First promotional period, ten more minutes of Star Wars Outlaws have been published online. In this clip, protagonist Kay Vess is tasked with finding a sarlacc tooth, so she seeks out one of the giant creatures in the desert and heads inside. Unfortunately, her hard work uncovering the enormous fang is undone when thieves ambush her and steal it – but armed with her trusty speeder, she’s able to track down the ne’er-do-wells and take it back.
The cool thing about this quest is that the rewards go beyond XP and some in-game currency; you actually unlock a meaningful upgrade for your aircraft, which you can then use in space combat. If all of the main quests in the game unlock similarly meaningful items and upgrades, then it’ll prove good incentive to actually get out into the world and complete everything each planet has to offer.
Personally, we reckon this is looking real good. Clearly it’s not bringing anything particularly different to the open world genre, but the Star Wars veneer undoubtedly makes it more compelling – we can’t wait until launch on 30th August.

Well for anyone who is interested, always remember if u wait a month, probably will save $20-$30 on a ubisoft game
Just to clarify, that isnt footage of the PS5 as it has an Xbox "Y" as one of the ui controls. Looks like it has some performance issues...
Any news on 60fps anybody?
Can’t stand 30fps nowadays.
@RagnarLothbrok I got Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora for $30 off less than a week after it released lol. Hoping I can do a similar thing with Star Wars.
Playing three days early. Can't wait.
Stop saying this is PS5 when it's not. We don't even know if there will be a performance mode yet for consoles.
Its literally just Assassins Creed with a Star Wars skin isnt it
@PaperAlien
More like "The Divison" meets "Ghost Recon" without multiplayer and a more open-world design
I’ll wait six months to a year for it to hit bargain bin status, if at all. Nothing about this is compelling for me in the slightest.
My deep and nuanced take: This looks fun!
Overall, it looks okay, but no thanks, at least not for full price. These 10 minutes showed me so many graphical issues that I cannot overlook in 2024. It looks like an alpha build... one month before release.
There's like a million planets in the Star Wars lore why does every movie, TV show and game have to be partially set on freaking Tatooine?
@Knave21 While I agree it has been a crutch for Star Wars media, it makes sense here as Tatooine is outside imperial control for the most part and the presence of the Hutt and other crime syndicates makes it a natural place for an outlaw to be.
Some parts look really good and yet some parts look as bad as that walking dead game 💀 (okay, maybe not that bad) but that explosion is super jank 😭😅 and the ship looks like it's made of plastic or plasticine
The thing I can't put my finger on is why it looks like Kay Vess isn't really there, though, it just looks like the world is there and she's been pasted on, somehow. Something to do with character outlines, lighting and shadows, maybe.
Still hyped for this game, though 😁
Looks like the typical generic Ubisoft formula. I’ll pass
Ubisoft = bargain bin
The only situation in the footage were the player had something like a choice was to hit the hanging barrel or not, which I wouldn’t consider elaborate. All the other stuff was „Go there, do that“, and the player follows.
If being a follower is so popular these days, then happy days for dictators.
Just me excited for this then?
@ApostateMage Nah, me too. Even though that videos doesn't help with that.
Honestly it looks fun but quite unpolished, I’m torn between playing it day one with Ubisoft+ or wait a month and buy it on a sale…
As a man who loves him some Ubisoft comfort food gaming, and as someone who has always had a Han Solo fantasy as a kid, I'm already there day one.
Yeah the footage is looking a little rough to say the least but as someone who actively enjoys what Massive puts out (even got the platinum for Avatar FoP) I'm more than certain I'll get vast amounts of enjoyment from this between the bigger releases.
I dont even like ubisoft games but this one im interested in
I'll give it a try on Ubisoft+.
These games usually have zero replay value, so I rather just "rent" the game.
@OldGamer999 maybe change your username then!
That is precisely what I am doing, @RagnarLothbrok. Their asking price for the Ultimate edition is frankly obscene...
After watching the video, it looks fun. I enjoy Assassin's Creed games and Star Wars, so if this isn't a bugged mess, there's a good chance I'll be buying this. Not day one, probably Oct / Nov, to see me through the winter nights.
From this vid, it looks like basic generic gameplay design, in all facets sadly, including level design.
With usual load hiding in sliding thru cracks, sliding down a,1 way slope path etc.
Plus graphic quality and detail is pretty basic too for a newgen only game.
There's some charm, humor that is likeable.
We'll see i guess, maybe this is the most basic gameplay part of the whole game..
Hope it surprises..
Looks fun. I wonder about the depth of the combat engine
@IOI not on ps5 ubisoft plus is xbox and pc only because ubisoft are muppets who are clueless as people who uploaded this video claiming its ps5 footage when it's clear as day on xbox series s ( most likely) not series x
Ubisoft need to add Ubisoft+ to playstation because it's not really fair biggest player base missing out, besides there games sells best on ps and I own a xbox and pc, ps5 this footage clearly on xbox or pc
@Falkirk4life I know, just for that I’d play it on Xbox, which is how I’ve been managing lately, every “rental” game I play on Xbox, but I buy most games on PS5.
