Vampire Survivors, the massively popular title from indie developer Poncle, has a firm release date on PS5 and PS4 at last. Already out on basically everything else, the hit game comes to Sony's consoles on 29th August, 2024. The news comes alongside the above trailer which, to be honest, is not particularly helpful in telling you what the game is.
If you're unaware, Vampire Survivors is a very simple but very compelling game in which your only objective is to avoid touching enemies. Baddies will swarm your character from all directions, gradually increasing in number and strength over the course of 30 minutes. Your attacks fire off automatically, and defeated foes drop XP, which you'll use to level up and get new weapons, abilities, and upgrades until you're practically unstoppable. In addition to these per-run enhancements, you can use gold to purchase permanent upgrades.
On top of that, there are numerous characters, weapons, power-ups, relics, and more to unlock as you progress. While the game doesn't look like much (and is priced as such), it has a vast amount to see and do. The DLC for Vampire Survivors will also be available to purchase day and date with the base game.
Will you be picking this up on PS5 and PS4? Tread carefully in the comments section below.

@Frmknst I mean it was huge hit on PC before it came to mobile and console. It’s not a mobile game port. I never could see the fuss myself but it’s definitely got hordes of fans. 98% on Steam with over 220,000 reviews.
I'm actually considering getting the game. I had the chance to try for free on my iPhone and I thought it could be a fun little time waster but didn't love the inaccuracy of the mobile controls, a controller would be much better.
The price point of 4.99 feels very do-able. But I have some points on my Switch so I might just get it there.
I did wonder what all the fuss was about, but then I played it and found it to be super addictive.
okay, as a second note (sorry), I just watched the trailer after I posted. and holy moly that is one of the worst trailers for advertising a game of all time!
Can’t wait to buy for the 5th time
day one for me.
@WhiteRabbit I’m just kidding, I’ve on Switch, XBOX and iPad
One of the best games in years. It’s always funny to see people mouth off about it, especially the graphics, when it’s an actual indie game and not one of those faux-indie games backed by big money. It’s just a deeply satisfying game, similar to Balatro in that it executes a sole concept extremely well. That’s what gaming needs more of, commitment to a sole vision.
Tried on a free 2 week gamepass trial after i banged out a game. Figured id wait for trophies.
Question: anyone know if this is c
Just a survive as long as you can, or are u supposed fo get stronger to actually go somewhere in the game
Played this on Xbox and i enjoyed it so much it was the deciding factor in me buying a steamdeck to buy the game and do it all again. I can't wait to buy it and do it all over again
Downloaded this on my phone and then forgot about it 😅
I need to give it a whirl the next time I’m idle
Looking forward to this been waiting a long time. Surprised there arent many similar games on PS5 a few more recently. Did have fun with Spirit Hunters
Played five minutes of it on the free version in the App Store just now and I’m buying the PS version when it arrives!
I enjoyed it for a few days on GPU then it gets repetitive and boring in all honesty
Well, it looks like I know where the rest of my summer gaming will be going to. Such a great, addicting game.
I got about 15 hours logged on Steamdeck and that is about my limit. Fun for a bit but gets old quickly. OK for the price point.
Loved this game myself. Great fun and quite challenging
@awp69 but it definitely feels like a mobile game.
I had seen so many people rave about the game and so I bought it on mobile and honestly, I think I played a out 5mins and thought, yea not sure what the fuss was about it.
It is an absolute gem of a game with a surprising amount of depth and that trailer is absolutely amazing.
I had to stop myself from playing on Switch after about 70 hours when I heard a PS Version is coming.
I knew I would play it all over again anyway. Can't wait! And the coop is freaking awesome too!! Me and all my couch coop friends love this game xDD
I’ve already fully mastered this absolute gem of a game on both Xbox and mobile, and I’ll happily do it again on PlayStation. 😁
@Frmknst It’s a great game with a satisfying gameplay loop. You don’t actually have to be negative every time you post it’s not a requirement.
Great news. I'm in.
Having put over 30hrs into Vampire Survivors across Series X and Switch, I’ll be there day one when it releases on PS5. For under £5.00, you really can’t go wrong. Plus, it’ll be a blast seeing multiple trophies pop every ten minutes! Seriously, if you haven’t yet played it elsewhere, try it. The game is genuinely awesome!
Finally, it's been great on Switch and now I'll be able earn trophies.
It's okay, I think it landed along with Brotato at literally the perfect time with SteamDeck.
Was a great Deck game,
I have more than 230 hours of Vampire Survivors on my Nintendo Switch. Please send help
Seriously, it's worth checking out for the price, and odds are good you'll have a great time.
To be honest, I played it once on my phone, thought it was mildly diverting, then never felt like playing it again. There was some old twin stick shooter on PC, alien themed, that I got into years ago and it reminded me of that.
A cellphone game?
